FMX is ideal for multi-site property and facility management
Prior to FMX we had no work order system at all. No one really knew if repairs were completed, many requests were simply forgotten. Staff were frustrated by the lack of communication and length of time for work request completion. FMX solves all of this and more. We track costs, inventory, timelines and documents associated with the work orders.
PROSThe set up, customization, implementation was incredibly easy! Many of our staff are not very computer savvy but we had little to no issues with the rollout. The user interface both desktop and mobile is intuitive and simple to navigate.
CONSThe only thing I have found that isn't really a con, but when I finalize a work order, I would like to not have it be re-opened by users.

Strong product, great people, needs improvement
The commitment of the product specialists and customer support personnel. The integration with the building automation software is wonderful. It saves us time and money.
CONSThe responsiveness of the software is fine, but needs to be faster. The scheduling is great, but the work order (tech/maint requests) features need much more development. Please research help desk programs like Cayzu or Zendesk. If you were to improve these modules, your suite would be unstoppable!!! :)
Reasons for switching to FMX
We didn't have a building automation system other than manual work by the maintenance technician. We were using Google Calendar as our scheduling system which worked well. We were using Cayzu for our work orders and enjoyed it much more that the tech/maint request modules in FMX. We left that system in order to streamline systems for our end-users and since it was bundled into the entire package.We do appreciate the Equipment module for use in our tech and operations inventory.

FMX for request forms
It works well because we are able to utilize it on one platform in one convenient location.
PROSIt gives you a lot of options for the type of forms you can create. We use it for IT help issues, general maintenance requests, and marketing, media and communications requests.
CONSIt is pretty much preset on what you can and can't add in. It has some presets that don't work with every form, so you have to select information that is not necessary in order to complete the form.

FMX Review
I've used 3 different Maintenance ticketing systems, and FMX is definitely the best one for ease of use and searchability.
PROSIt is very easy for Requesters to submit maintenance tickets, so we are more organized now with requests flowing into one central spot. The Respond feature is great too, as it allows Users and Requesters to communicate directly within a ticket.
CONSThere are a lot of customizable options, so it can be tricky to know what to select at first. Also, the "on behalf of" feature is useful, but it has confused a lot of people, as they think they need to select their own name in that field.
Reason for choosing FMX
It came down to the two that had the best features. FMX won the pitch because their price was much more reasonable.

It was cumbersome, and created many duplicate tickets. It was harder to organize service, as things weren't as streamlined.

Great Maintenance, Inventory, Event Scheduling and Reporting Tool for K-12 Districts

Would like to have regular "Development Meetings", maybe every 6 months, with a FMX System Planner to explore potential ways to enhance utilization of current system.
PROSThe FMX system met the identified needs (Work Order Management, Preventative Maintenance, Inventory Control, Cost Monitoring and Event Scheduling) of the district in a cost effect manner and was positively received by the district's staff and community.
CONSThe "Third Party" Reporting function. Wish the FMX Team could support greater individualization in Report Formatting.

Perfect for K-12 Public Schools
K-12 Public School Departmental Supervisors typically have multiple, disparate systems for Technology, Maintenance, Grounds, Transportation, Facilities Reservations, and inventory. FMX brings all of this together in one easy-to-use portal.
CONSThere doesn't really appear to be any cons, especially considering the experience I've had setting up and configuring other helpdesk portals.

FMX fit our needs perfectly without the need to use other systems to accommodate our various departments. Technology, Transportation, Maintenance, Grounds, Facilities, and Athletics can make great use of this product. Our end users appreciate having only one login portal for all of these systems, and they only have to learn one application to get the assistance they need.
Reasons for switching to FMX
The "Sign In With Google" option was huge, and also the ability to accomodate the multiple departments within a K12 school district with tailored functionality for each department was critical.

Greatest People Ever to work with!
The FMX staff are probably the most helpful people I've ever worked with. They answer often within the hour of an emailed request and many times the reply comes even faster than that. They try to cater to our every need within their ability and then, like I mentioned above, when the program cannot do what we need, they find another way. Best customer service every.
PROSIt is customize-able. Almost everything I asked FMX folks to do was doable. Other scheduling software we looked at either said they'd charge more for every change or special accommodation or that they just didn't offer it.
CONSThe reports. They list multiple room bookings to say, "this room plus 6 others". This was rectified by FMX creating an Excel file that would extrapolate those as that is the report we need. SO, FMX reports wont' do it but FMX created a work around for me that works just fine. The other least liked thing is that I cannot have different times in one booking. If it's a multi day or many time slots event I have to create multiple bookings and if there are special notes about one particular room in that multi room event, I cannot add those notes to just that one room.

We SURE didn't want to! But the version of EMS that we've been using for almost 20 years updated to be in the cloud. The cost for that was exorbitant. Ridiculous even. Also, that updated version was nothing like what we were used to using and loved. In fact we used EMS (Dean Evans and Associates) for about 6 years with no updates, no maintenance and no support needs. Because they chose not to update the version we had. But it worked for us just fine. BUT, as we update our servers, the older software like that becomes inoperable. It actually hasn't yet but our Tech guy tells us there will be a day when updates will cause EMS to just crash. So we were forced to do this.

The software is overall very easy to use, it is very easy to learn, and very easy to set up.
A lot of benefits. PM tracking, repair tracking, inventory management.
PROSThe best feature of the software is its easy to use. Someone with very little computer skill can learn to use it. I also like that it is web based so you don't have a huge program to install on your PC's.
CONSI dislike that there is still a lot of manual data entry at initial start up. After you get through that phase, there isn't much not to love.

Very positive experience so far.
It is a great tool for myself and my technicians. I love that they can access it from their smart phones or iPads. It is another tool in their tool box which helps them do their work faster which helps when budgets are limited and I cannot hire more techs. If they can do their job faster, it is like getting additional manpower without extra cost. If they can get access to important information without going to look for it, it saves a lot of time. It also gives me good data to be able to plan appropriately both with scheduling manpower and with budgets.
PROSThe ability to attach documents, PDFs, pictures, etc. This is great to be able to attach manuals, trouble shooting documents, etc. to equipment which is then accessible to the technicians in the field without going and searching for the information. Also the flexibility to customize the software to suit our needs for equipment, work orders and inventory. This is important to be able to customize the software to how we work in our district. Also the speed at which your team works when I submit a request. I have give them Excel spreadsheets with equipment information and they load it usually within a couple hours or even less. Great response time.
CONSNot able to reserve inventory against a work order while you are planning and scheduling it. This is huge as when I am planning work to be done and I want to reserve an inventory part so that it is available when the tech goes to do the job. One such work order type is a PM where filters or belts are required, it would be nice to reserve them or be alerted that there are none in stock. I wish I could change the name "Equipment" to "Asset". A company can include roofs, doors, windows, floors, etc in the equipment tab as we are asset manager, not just equipment managers. I wish I could put in a type of equipment or asset and have a secondary window open up in the equipment page which would allow for specific data to be entered as it pertains to the equipment type. For example, if I would select a "motor" type, it would be nice to see a window within the page that would ask me for HP, RPM, Volts, etc. If I would enter an equipment type of a "Fan" , the page would ask for RPM, CFM, Belt or Direct drive, Etc.

The essential tool for me...
I manage facilities use/rental/internal scheduling for the 12 buildings in our public school district. Without FMX this would be a much more difficult task. I love that I can have a visual calendar of the entire district and "dummy it down" to just the exact information that I am looking for by using the filters. Being able to reference an event by a specific event number is essential and the online payment tracking is helpful as well, though it does have some limitations. My community members and staff members have found the system very user-friendly and I'm happy to report that even the most stubborn of the group have embraced the scheduling system. Color coding of the calendar view makes it easy to determine what needs your attention ASAP and I have found working on the system on a mobile device easy to take care of things on the run. Overall I give FMX 5 stars for ease of use by all users and I find the features and functionality spot on most of the time. Whenever I do have a support concern I always get a very speedy response. Thank you FMX for helping me stay organized with this very daunting task of mine. I don't know how I would do it without you.
PROSThe color coding of the calendar really helps me stay on top of things. The ability to look things up by event id and the ease of changing events is something I use almost every day. I created a simple one-page tutorial that I send out to all new members and I rarely get a call asking for help on how to use the system.
CONSI'm not sure what could be improved, but I feel like the billing could use some help. It seems more labor intensive to me than what it should...I feel like I do things twice as I create the bill externally through excel and then translate the billing info into FMX. Similar with accepting payments...I track the payment externally and then transfer payments into FMX. I would also like the ability to email a community member directly from FMX and those communications be trackable via FMX.

FMX is my daily application to manage my work efficiently
It is helping the church facility deferred maintenance to be kept at a minimum while also having a system for the future personnel to know the condition and account for those assets.
PROSI value the ability to have a database of the assets that we can manage as I maintain the equipment and facility so it doesn't become a hindrance to our congregation. The system keeps me on top of maintenance needs as they come up and the ability to tackle the preventative service of those also.
CONSI don't use the calendaring module because of the larger picture of church software out there that is cleaner in its look. It is not a quick process to get a facility fully imported in a short amount of time but if done little by little it can be done. When a question comes up on a system process I have a hard time verbalizing it so look more to the written updates to educate myself.

FMX is hands down the CMMS to use
We were using a different CMMS and it was cumbersome to use. I started looking at different programs and came across FMX. I also looked at several others. FMX appeared to be easy to use and it provided a lot of flexibility with being able to customize fields in any part of the system. Not to mention that all the modules are included in one price. The old system we used we had to pay for each module. The switch over was painless with the help of the employees at FMX. They have been great from the very beginning. They continue to provide updates to their programs and they notify us every time one is made with a helpful tutorial. They have also contacted me if I would like any additional training on any part of FMX. Any questions I did have, they have answered promptly and offered to make the changes or adjustments for us. They truly care about their clients and go above and beyond to make sure they are happy with the product.
PROSI love the each of use that each module provides for the end user and the customizing that is available to the administrator.
CONSI wish there was an actual app to have on our phones for FMX. It would add to the ease of use for the maintenance person using it daily on the go.

Easy to use and organize CMMS
It has helped me maintain and keep an organized routine of work flow where it causes less stress when knowing when things need to be done.
PROSLogging PMs and work orders as they would arise really helps keep the work flow organized. It was easy to integrate the areas of our facility to establish our system for our facility. The FMX staff were very helpful and positive. Fast to respond and resolve any request or question I had.
CONSWhen making "due date" changes to the work orders, the email notification that is sent to the instigator does not state that in the email. It only says that a change has been made. That causes the person (who put the work order in) to question what is going on with the work order. that generates more down time to have to go back and explain what the changes were. It would be nice to have the email notifications to state the changes that are made to the work orders.

Great program to keep track of schedules, transportation, and work requests for my school district
Simplification to the 4 areas that we run through the software. The best part is I can approve when I am not at my desk. Under the old paper method, everything sat on my desk until I returned.
PROSease of use, keeps track of work request and progress/completion timeline. Almost everyone in my organization finds it easy to submit a request in one of the 4 modules we run.
CONSAt times, sends to many emails, but the enhancements over the past couple years has allowed users to edit this preference to a level that they are comfortable with. If I am doing a list of building use requests, I have to open each to approve. Wish I could click on the ones I want to approve, click approve and then approve all at one time, and not individually.

Overall very great program
Very good experience. Can't say anything but good.

Time Saver
FMX is saving me so much time with scheduling facility rentals and facility use.
PROSThe platform is simple to use and navigate. They were able to customize a module for our employee travel requests which has been very helpful. Hands down, the BEST part of FMX is their customer service! All the way through the process, from planning to implementation to going live, I was treated with kindness and respect. Almost weekly, I have questions, or I need help with something and their support team replies within minutes and helps me resolve the issue. And not only do they help resolve the issue, the teach me how to resolve the issue on my own if I need to in the future.
CONSOur custom module for our Travel Requests has glitches that I'm constantly reaching out to the support team to help me with.

Great Easy to Use CMMS!
Our experience so far has only been positive. It has definitely increased our productivity by providing updates in real time, reducing data entry, and automatically scheduling work orders.
PROSThe calendar view was one of our most sought-after features. The drag and drop makes planning and scheduling work orders so much easier. Inventory management was also a feature we enjoyed. We like the ability to attach printable QR codes to our inventory items for our users to scan pull up an inventory item's history. (Asset management also has this incredible feature)
CONSWe have seen some issues with mobile version of FMX. Users have had issues with zooming. They also had issues with their phone turning off and losing progress on a work order that wasn't saved or completed yet.

Facilities Scheduling Made Easy
I would be remiss if I failed to mention how spectacular their customer service is. Every single time that I've reached out for assistance, they have promptly gotten back to me and done so with a gracious attitude. I've actually emailed them to tell them that they are by far the most responsive vendor that I've worked with.
PROSThe schedule request module is terrific. Being able to set up approval queues, notifications, recurring events, and more have made facility scheduling much more streamlined. Plus we can export the event data for display on our public website, and we can even automatically import our athletic schedules from an outside service. In addition, their import templates are ridiculously easy to use!
CONSOccasionally, a feature may require a few more clicks than what seems necessary. But overall, that's a pretty small complaint.

Head and shoulders above the rest
The ability for multi departments to input requests and being able to customize views specific to each department is perfect. We maintain a 2200 acre development with multiple buildings, parks, streets, est. We are multifaceted similar to a municipality and FMX was able to customize every feature to fit our community perfectly. We recently added the ability to manage our vehicles and equipment which is very nice.
PROSEase of use. This was our number 1 criteria and FMX stood out from the others Reporting. The dashboard system makes customizing reports effortless. Support. Absolutely important and they have been outstanding

Primarily the calendar view function. The demo proved to be very user friendly and we liked the fully custom set up.
