Everything about the software has been awesome, especially the incredible support.
Just one of the best price-value pieces of software I have found. I work in agriculture, and while we have ag-specific GIS tools with specific functionality for our industry, it's great to have a low cost, full featured GIS package for the random other stuff we do. And because we are sometimes doing the same operation across large numbers of files, I look forward to taking advantage of the automation abilities that the package offers as well.
PROSThe value for the money, and the support (including customized help on how to do specific GIS things in the software as well as the offer to write VBA scripts as needed
CONSThe overall interface seems a bit non standard, that is the 4 ease of use rating. It doesn't feel like a modern Windows program, not sure why that is. But it really isn't that big of deal considering all the positives and the incredible value for the money

Finally a Logic based GIS Program
It is exactly what I need. I am conducting demographic analysis for a client and have already learned how to create a service area shapefile and calculate the area as well as pull block group data from the 2019ACS for the service area. I am absolutely happy with this product.
PROSThis software allows one to create maps that she wants without limitations. So much of the GIS software has so much AI in it that it won't do what you tell it to do. And to top it off, there is still direct access to the data you need and many tools included. It is amazing to have a program with the perks I need and none of the ones I do not. And the cost is definitely unbeatable. Also, the tutorials and customer service is excellent. I still have a lot to learn, but feel I will be able to market my company as having GIS capabilities in no time.
CONSAbsolutely nothing. It has been 15 years since I used GIS on a daily basis, so I have a learning curve, but that is my only issue.
Reason for choosing Simple GIS Client
I could not even think about affording it. And there were so many extras that the customer service people couldn't even explain. My experience was ArcVie 3x. I worked with ArcGIS some, but in a management role mostly. There products are out of control complicated.

An excellent tool for working on maps and spatial data
It helps provide the user with all geographic context which in return helps in decision making..
CONSIt is not an easy software, it requires a large amount of data entry and the results might not be so accurate..

General GIS use and multi-user edits of shapefiles.

Such a Great Product!
My overall experience started with their 30 day trial after I did two week trials with three other mapping software programs. Right away I noticed the graphics were much better than one of the other cartography programs whose graphics looked like the Atari space invaders game. I also noticed the customer service was incredible. One day I'm going to visit these guys and buy them all steak dinners because of all the help they've given me. I asked a ton of questions in those first 30 days and then a ton of questions afterwards. Now they almost never hear from me but when I do need something they are always right there with the answer. The software runs great. I was a bit nervous about doing all the cartography myself but I must say my maps are turning out wonderfully!
PROSWhat do I like most about this software? Everything. It's easy to use. It's super cheap. It gets the job done fast and well. The customer service goes above and beyond answering my inquiries. It stands by it's name - Simple. Everything is laid out in a clear and concise way - easy to find, easy to use. Before I found Simple I tried THREE other mapping software programs - ranging from $2500 to $750 - and Simple is just as good (in one case, far better!) as any of them at a fraction of the price. I don't know why anyone would pay more for a different software when everything they need is right here in Simple. Plus a month long trial? And spectacular customer service? Yeah - it's a no-brainer.
CONSIt's not really a complaint about the software - it's more that I need a better computer. All of the cartography software programs I tried - and now Simple, which I bought - they all freeze and crash. But that is because my computer is crappy and I need one with better capabilities. I would also suggest making the manual searchable so we could use the "find" function to search for specific topics. Oh - and the youtube tutorial videos are great but I seriously recommend doing them in only 1 to 2 minute segments with specific subjects instead of 30 to 40 minute segments where someone has to wait and wait and wait for their specific question to come up. Leave the long ones on for reference but add those super quick videos so people can speedily reference what they need to know. Or even put a list in the youtube videos description which breaks down the video minute by minute so people can find what they need faster.
Vendor Response
Thanks for the kind words Christina and for the helpful suggestions!
