Sawyer is a cloud-based camp management solution that offers booking and scheduling services for children's after-school class providers, camps and events. The solution also offers an online marketplace, where parents can register their children for semester programs and camps. Key features include online registration, an online payment gateway, a parent portal and student management.

Camp and class providers can take booking orders on their website by embedding the Sawyer widget. Once a booking is initiated by a parent, details of the order can be tracked on an online dashboard. The solution also offers an online payment gateway allowing partners to add classes to a virtual cart and checkout. Besides class booking, scheduling and online payment management, the solution offers an online messaging functionality allowing users to communicate with parents and students.  

Additionally, class providers can join the Sawyer community to showcase their offerings on an online marketplace. This allows parents to book classes directly from the Sawyer website.

    It seems like they keep adding functionality that makes it more useful (for instance, party scheduling). They are very responsive, even when they can't help, and seem to be motivated to constantly improve their product.

    Pros

    It's beautiful and it integrates well into my website. It is easy to use on the user's end.

    Cons

    Some functionality is clunky (reports) and it's hard to get the big picture. It doesn't visually aggregate data, and the money part can be hard to see and track.

    I am still developing our relationship with Sawyer. Can't say that I am able to give any fair opinion of the overall experience at this time.

    Pros

    Its ease of use. Many concepts make sense. To be able to assign teachers and increase parent communication. *** Please add ability to attach files *** and please *** update your form software for custom forms - it is terrible right now ***

    Cons

    This summer Chefsville had over 30 camps. The normal training schedule for Sawyer didn't allow for us being out working those camps so getting trained was twice as hard for Mollie.

    We actually had to test, play and figure it out until she advised us and we could follow.

    I still have no idea of what an acknowledgement/registration confirmation e-mail looks like and have customers calling me asking when there next payment is due and what dates our programs are.

    I have a great email that I use, but I can't use that when I am trusting your software to do it along with payment receipt.

    We still are not trained and know that your software does more than what we know. Mollie has been out and schools started for us this week. So we are having to scramble to find information.

    We still need help with our form, our form asks several questions that your profile automatically does. I need to find where and how to get this information, change our form so it asks only one time.

    Website Widget - we have no control of it! I had to figure out the coding to modify the short code to show Semesters and not camps. I did ask for help, but by the time customer service got to me, many people passed our programs over because they couldn't see how to register by changing "Camps" to "Semesters". I think your clients need to have more controls on their WordPress.

    The customer service has always been helpful, and as a growing company always willing to share my feedback to explore implementing changes to their system. Several of them have been implemented, but I'm awaiting some others that would really make the service a valuable tool for my business.

    Pros

    The ability to separate all of my students from the rest of my revenue stream. I teach art lessons as well as create and sell my own work. So this service has isolated my teaching business from my artwork.

    Cons

    Setting up products to fit within my business model has been a bit tricky and the user interface is a bit tricky to navigate. My students often miss or can't locate the specific product they are looking for.

    It has allowed us to eliminate paper registration and speed up the registration process.

    Ease of registration for customers which has reduced the phone or email queries.

    I like the ease of adding items to our roster and having a simple interface for our customers to use.

    Cons

    Occasionally some features can be tricky to use or are set up to be counter-intuitive to the way we have operated before. But I think the changes that have been made as you grow and get feedback have been wonderful.

    I like that there is no upfront cost. I like that it is a one stop shop for my business.

    Some features are a bit hard to navigate but once you find everything it become fairly intuitive. Some things can be a bit buggy as well.

    It's been great working with Sawyer so far. The customer service team has been very responsive to my questions and has helped me with through some confusingly moments, answering all my questions and helping me learn how to use the tools better. I like that they are very open to feedback and are constantly seeking ways to improve the software so it is convenient and intuitive for clients. I also love the clean interface. The design is really nice for both clients and users.

    Pros

    I like that there is no monthly or minimum fee, which is great for small business owners who might only bring in money now and then. Sawyer takes a very small percentage off of every transaction made, which means I can run my business at my own pace, and even take breaks without worrying about wracking up fees! I also live that clients can create an account which makes it easy for them to return and sign up again and again.

    Cons

    There are a few features that I would like to be more intuitive and seamless. I wish I could email a person or group of people directly through Sawyer simply by selecting them in the contacts menu. I also wish I could personalize the use of the sibling discount to work even when families don't sign them up for the same class. There are a few other small improvements I'd like to see. Otherwise, is been a great product so far!

    Pros

    Sawyer has a sleek and professional look. It’s design interstates seamlessly into my business, allowing me to stay organized. It has saved me hours, as it automated processes I was doing manually beforehand. I love that I can effortlessly offer several registration options, and keep my calendar organized and accurate.

    Occasionally, I have a customers who have difficulty completing transactions while using google chrome.

    My little company loved using sawyer as our registration platform. We received compliments from many customers on how easy it was to sign up.

    Pros

    It is Easy to use and as someone who is not great with technology I could actually figure it out.

    Cons

    Not the easiest to create new classes. I had to use customer support several times after getting buttons confused.

    I feel like Sawyer is a great service And meets the unique needs of people on the childhood enrichment businesses. Excellent customer service and a clean modern look were big selling points for me.

    Pros

    Works smoothly with my website and is easy and convenient for my students’ families to navigate.

    Cons

    I don’t find the software to be a uper inuative or user friendly. I sometimes struggle to figure out how to adjust basic settings for my classes. Seems like settings and features are squirreled away in places that don’t always make sense to me. That being said, customer service is great at assisting with finding what I’m looking for.

    The customer service is so personal, you think they only have you to take care of, and you know you are working with people! I definitely have more people sign up for our classes because of Sawyer.
