Pros/Cons
Pros
- Brightwheel is an amazing tool that every school - not just daycare, should use. It also helps document kids' progress and learning development.
- I was very pleased when the school rolled out this tool. I love feeling more informed about his day.
- We liked moving to a cloud based product and the flexibility that gave our administrators and parents. We enjoy the ability for parents to see their billing and the ability to pay through the app.
Cons
- I work for a company that uses Brightwheel and I firmly believe that this app and others like it are awful. They enable helicopter parenting, distract teachers, and set a bad example for children.
- The support is terrible. I am not sure how they got to be this big with such terrible support.
- I dislike that you are unable to see your punch in and punch out time. You should be able to see your location at all time.
Pros
- We have had good experiences with the customer service accept of the system and help in how it functions.
- I love the way that parents are able to see the progress of their students and be able to be informed at their children's progress.
- My overall experience has been great. It takes some time to learn all you can do with it, but once you do it is a real aid to your work load and ability to support teachers.
Cons
- Not sure if this is our district's problem or the software, but for some reason, problems with it frequently have to be fixed.
- Navigating can be a bit confusing at times. There are a lot of windows to click on and if you don't write down directions, you will be stuck trying to remember how to get to a particular window.
- Sometimes you have to do the same thing in two different places which can be irritating.
