Satisfied but not in love
Pros
This product works well for basic networking, social grouping and messaging. My church has used it and I liked it, but I think there was a pretty low adoption rate because most people didn't feel that it met their needs.
Cons
In many ways this software does not provide much more functionality than another social media platform for general and basic use and information dissemination.

Group Based Social Media For The Church
Easy communication between group members, ability for groups to communicate without needing the group leader to mediate.
Pros
The City allows groups to stay connected throughout the week and in between face-to-face gatherings. The phone app makes it very convenient and easy to stay in the loop. The best features of The City are the ability to reply to an email notification and have it go right back to the thread in The City and the fact that you can "feature" posts to make them stick at the top of the group's News Feed. Great software for staying connected.
Cons
The City needs more database-like features. Custom fields and more information on people's profiles than just what groups they're in.

Helpful to Improve Communication but could improve Functionality
Pros
-This platform can help share a lot of different information ranging from upcoming events, groups, updates from regarding events, etc. -Information isn't public to everyone but to the select group, e.g., details regarding a church event or community group are limited to who's invited in and creates an account. -Helpful ways to send mass communications without having to know everyone's individual email address
Cons
-Messages notifications sent to emails only contain a limited part of the message, so you have to log onto The City website or App to finish regarding the message, which is kind of a pain, especially if you're a person like me who forgets their password all the time. It would be much more user friendly if mass communications sent to people's email could include the ENTIRE content of the message.

Great Company, Great Value!
Pros
The City has been an amazing place to build community. Prayer requests and needs are met with great compassion and real solutions. We LOVE Acs Support. I have never ended a call without a 100% solution.
Cons
Unfortunately, the City is being retired. We are looking forward to it's replacement REalm.

It's like a Facebook for churches, it helps you to know what's going on at your church.
Pros
Good tool to keep all the members of the church connected. My favorite feature is the group making, cause you can communicate with all at once.
Cons
People don't want another app to keep track of, so it's hard to engage people to get the app, especially since they already have Facebook and you can do similar things there.

Great idea but bad execution
Pros
The ability to have a central communication hub that functions similarly to Facebook is great, in theory.
Cons

Why do churches use The City App
Obviously I'm not a fan in theory. But the platform itself is seamless and may be of value to a very large mega church.
Pros
A place where congregations can get information about what is going on in their church community. Post ads. Links to sermons. Ask for help. The App creates a social media alternative for churches to involve their people is all aspects of what is going on.
Cons
It does create a 'club like' platform. "Either you are in or you are out". I believe that churches should use the usual social media apps like Facebook, Instagram and Twitter to show everybody whats going on inside. I would prefer if my church put all the information I needed on these platforms instead of creating another layer for those who are 'in'. Unnecessary extra perhaps!?

Became a Hurdle for our Church
Pros
At its core, The City is a viable option for churches to connect their people. It did so this for us, to some extent.
Cons
Ultimately, The City simply became another "social network" that our church members had to keep up with. Folks naturally gravitated away from using it as a resource and it lost its value.

WANTS to be a Social Network
I liked it. I wanted to love it, but as a church staff member I knew that I was the only one checking out events etc. on a regular basis.
Pros
It looks cool, and it's approach is friendly and relational. The children's module is fantastic.
Cons
People simply don't check it. That's all there is to it. It relies on people checking yet another "social media" and they just don't... they also don't update it. It is also difficult to determine who should be "in" and "out" if your church isn't membership-focused.

Decent forum software, but there are better options out there
Easy way to discuss topics with other ministry leaders.
Pros
I've used TheCity as an end user for various ministry-related groups. As a user, their forums seem to have to basic minimum features that I'm looking for (topics, posts, personal messages, etc.). The software feels solid as well; I've never run into any issues using it or had any trouble finding my way around.
Cons
The forums themselves feel a bit dated. They could use some improvements in terms of allowing more refined categorization and improved search functionality. The UI itself could use some updating too, to make it feel a bit more modern.

Great way to keep in touch with local communities.
This is a great way to keep in touch with people in your local community and even post up listings such as placing items for sale or pickup.
Pros
I was introduced to this platform by my local church. It is a great way to keep in touch with fellow congregants, stay updated on posts from the church staff and community, and send each other messages.
Cons
I don't really have a lot of criticisms for this platform other than perhaps the mobile app could look less cluttered.

Good Product
Good product. Does what it says it will do and easy to use for newbies. :)
Pros
Easy to use for staff. In our training with this product we noticed that we have to be diligent in reminding the leaders to follow up with reports/attendance on time. Easy to use and easy to train. Effective tool as long as you stress the importance of "why" you are doing what you are doing.
Cons
It does require reminders for leaders to use the product. For those that implement it correctly, it is an effective tool at engaging people. Something churches need to do well.

Just ok.
Pros
Connection points for members are great. This would be the main reason to use this product in spite of the user interaction flaws.
Cons
The feel of the product dashboard seems outdated and not well planned out. Could be smoother and easier to navigate.

The City needs work
While fairly easy to use, the City has a heavy, clunky feel to it. The opportunity to connect among members is great, but there's much to be desired here.

Helpful Tool
Pros
Great communication tool for small groups and as a message board for announcements and upcoming events.
Cons
It's takes a little while to learn how to navigate the app.
