Pros/Cons
Pros
- I love how customizable this software is. It's great right "out of the box" and so easy to use.
- The initial training and set up was awesome. Once you learn more about how the database works and what your church needs they are more than willing to help you customize the product.
- We have been very pleased with the new tools and enhancements that are being rolled out frequently. MP was a good product when we signed on - now it's even better.
Cons
- That there are no group registration products yet - to make events such as conferences easier to reserve seats. But really that is probably my biggest struggle.
- If you are a smaller church with no staff that have a basic understanding of a computer language in their past it may present some difficulties in customizing views and SQL queries.
- Amazingingly Customizable, but sometime to a weakness.
Pros
- PowerChurch Plus was the perfect solution. It is one of the few programs out there that is both affordable and PC-based.
- The customer service is excellent. I am not one who likes to call and wait to speak to a representative and I don't have to because the online help is excellent.
- It allows you so many choices for creating amazing presentations. I am able to create wonderful presentations for our church service.
Cons
- What is bad is that this reminds me of where Quickbooks was at 15 years ago.
- The only downside is that you cannot pay invoices electronically. You can only write checks.
- Therefore, I have to jump through hoops to make Power Church give me the separate amounts. I do this by faking the dates.
