We have been using Pushpay for 9 years and find it to be a great way to receive donations from anyone, anywhere, at any time. We have not had many issues with the giving platform. The app create platform is a little difficult, but we don't use it for that.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5

#### Pros

Pushpay makes it easy for our congregation to donate. The ability to use a qr code or text to give really helps. Almost 50% of giving to our church comes through pushpay.

#### Cons

The app creating that they have is not simple. Years ago, it was very simple. We wish they would go back to the platform they used then.

#### Reasons for choosing Pushpay

We chose Pushpay for the ease of use and the fact that many other congregations that we are affiliated with recommended it.

#### Reasons for switching to Pushpay

Pushpay was so much easier than paypal was.

#### Vendor response

Fred, thank you for 9 years with us! We're honored that nearly half of your church's giving comes through Pushpay. Your feedback on the app builder is noted—we hear you on wanting simpler functionality like we had before. Thanks for being a long-time partner.

#### Pros

I love how efficient, effective, and excellent the presentation and interaction with this platform is. The Pushpay team has been super helpful throughout our process and our goals of immediate needs for such a quick turnaround for our switch. Everyone ensured that we had all the information we needed for the transition. The virtual open-door policy has been a blessing for me and my team.

#### Cons

The only thing I liked least about Pushpay was that I didn't make the connection with the proper individuals so we could start the transition sooner. They are absolutely amazing

#### Reasons for choosing Pushpay

A mutual friend has recently switched from Church Office Online so it only made sense to skip them and go straight to the best which clearly is Pushpay. We want to provide the best services to our people!

My overall experience has been very good and I would definitely recommend the product. The only reason I did not score a 10 is because we are still in the implementations process.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 4/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

The ease of implementation, set up and use is what I like most. I am not from the tech generation and to my surprise, with a coach, I have been able to navigate through the implementations process without too much difficulty. Also, all of the folks I have encountered along the way, have gone above and beyond to assist: [sensitive content hidden] [sensitive content hidden] created a "how to give" video only because a member of our congregation directly reached out to Pushpay for guidance. This is the "above and beyond" and what counts in business.

#### Cons

Not being able to communicate directly with my Implementations Coach made things difficult in the beginning. Having emails and messages filtered through care@pushpay.com caused a delay and allowed for misunderstandings.

#### Reasons for choosing Pushpay

We chose Pushpay because it has the features we need for major fundraising; ease of use; and the lower cost.

#### Reasons for switching to Pushpay

We did not have the ability to manage fundraising and it cost more.

#### Vendor response

Troyann, thank you for sharing this during your implementation! We're glad the process has been manageable and that our team has gone above and beyond. Your feedback about communication channels is helpful. Excited to see you succeed.

Overall, very easy to use. No complaints on this software. It does its job, and doesn’t seem to charge a crazy processing fee for credit cards either. That’s always nice.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 4/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

It’s very easy to use ... I can text an amount and give to my church, or I can go on our church website and click the giving button .

#### Cons

I dislike that it doesn’t integrate with Planner, which we use to coordinate all of our church teams. We used to be able to give right in the app itself when we check our scheduling, but cannot do that with Pushpay. Takes a little while to get used to. But not that much.

#### Reasons for switching to Pushpay

We found this was better aligned with the growth of our church , and didn’t charge us such a high processing rate. More funds go directly to our organization.

Short of “very good” due to lacking the capability to breakdown the donation amount to different funds. I’m hoping they provide this feature to allow donors to put a single amount for example of $120 and be able to break it down to say Tithes & Offerings $100 and Building project $20.

On a whole, the experience has been a positive one. However, moving forward, we now have specific items we will ask about when inquiring with other businesses to better fulfill our desired experience for users.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 3/5
- Customer support: 3/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

Pushpay has allowed our organization to move into this century. We were behind and now have the capabilities that the younger generations are looking for in terms of interacting with our organization. From electronic giving to development of a mobile app; we are incredible thankful to now be functioning in these areas. And within the app, our favorite function is the ability to send Push Notifications.

#### Cons

We would love the ability to better update our app from a mobile device. Currently using the web browser on a mobile device is extremely difficult. Even if we had the capability to send Push Notifications alone, that would be helpful. And then, another major frustration is the notifications do not show up on mobile devices as notifications for the app. Users of the app have to search within in the app for Push Notifications, instead of being reminded that they have a notification from our organization with the red bubble with the number of notifications remaining unseen.

Set up was done very well and quickly. Responses were very fast in the set up phase. Once that was completed it was days/weeks/months before someone would respond via email. When you call their 800 number you're directed to leave voicemail and then they email you in response but those can also take a week or more to receive a response. Integration with QB has been broken for months and no response. Was essentially told that our issue was not urgent and would be handled "when they have time". For months prior to that they had our account set up on the wrong time zone so deposits going into bank were different than deposits being recorded into software. Year renewal is near and we are no longer happy with the service received or the responses. We feel as though they were more concerned about making a "sale" and no longer feel important as a customer.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

The Pushpay app allows a user to interact with an organization easily to process payments. We use this for a non-profit organization and it streamlines all of our gifts into one simple platform. A customer can make changes and set up recurring payments at any time. Pushpay has been great to work with!

#### Cons

The is not a way for an administrator to help a "customer" adjust their payment while on the phone- it requires the customer to login and make those adjustments. In a day in age where customer service is of utmost precedence, this would definitely add a layer of top notch care to their experience. Another con would be the limited options for a customer to pay recurring payments. The 1st and 15th are good options, except for those who want to ensure that their paychecks clear before they process their payment. These customers need to set up two recurring payment options to work best for their financials.

While I like the concept of online giving, I think Pushpay is an expensive tool, that you'd have to make sure is worth your investment. There are other online payment tools available, which would be lower in fees. Overall, Pushpay does what it promises, but at a price.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Functionality: 3/5

#### Pros

Pushpay does what they promise, and that is to provide an online experience for those who want to give to their church digitally. I like that that we can give online whenever convenient, and we have the option to give with credit card or bank account, and set recurring as desired. Like any online payment tool, this is super convenient, and eliminates the necessity of carrying money or a check to church. The interface is simple enough that most can use it without issue.

#### Cons

My biggest gripe with Pushpay are the fees. While it's understandable that that they are a business who needs to make money, many churches have found it a hardship to pay their base fee as well as the percentage they take for the transition. For most churches, this would likely be thousands per year.

#### Vendor response

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, Maizy. Please let us know if there is any way we can help further prove the value of our technology.

Tech Support seems fairly incompetent and has a hard time grasping technical issues. Perhaps they do not really have a development team and simply contracted code development and shifted every resource to sales and marketing since then?

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Customer support: 1/5
- Functionality: 2/5

#### Pros

Fairly simple as an end-user for most things, some UI components could be improved, like deleting cards.

#### Cons

The AMEX code behind pushpay is buggy and does not allow adding AMEX payment options if the card has a 3-digit CVV code. This could potentially impact a fair number of payers and prevent adoption of online payments. Do you really want to block 10, 15, 20% of your potential audience from paying on-line???

When our church signed up (Irving, TX), we were assured that the credit card processing fees were cheaper than other options (PayPal was specifically mentioned) and would run 2-2.5%. We used Push Pay for nearly two years. Our last several months, the credit card processing fees were 3.5-3.8%, far more than other companies. Then they raised their monthly fees from $75-99. All total, factoring in ACH, we paid 2.9% on our $13,000 of Push Pay revenue in October ($380). That is not acceptable. Most of all, I am disappointed in the deceit perpetrated in the pricing.

Overall this is a good platform and it is one of several really good options for church donation systems. Pushpay also ads app development to their features which is a nice addition.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 3/5

#### Pros

We used pushpay for over two years with great success. It is a great giving solution with a lot of features. It has online, text, and app based giving and ability to enter cash and check gifts. End of year statements is well setup and provides easy printing and emailing as needed.

#### Cons

It has gotten better on reporting but there was a time that you could only run 3 months at a time. This has been extended with latest updates. The transaction fees are not exposed clearly to administrators so it makes it hard to tell what the costs are. Additionally there is a annual fee that is surprisingly high compared to competitors.

#### Pros

There is nothing good I can say about Pushpay.

#### Cons

Besides being the most expensive credit card processor for churches they know nothing about customer service and treating the customer fairly. We had a 3 year contract with them that was nothing but frustration and trouble. In January I emailed and told them we would not renew when our contract was up 2/27/21. They went ahead and withdrew $6000 from our account anyway! And now they say, "We can only give $5000 back." One thousand dollars is a lot for our church. The latest numbers I could find is Pushpay made over $98 million dollars in 2018. They lost a customer ( and hopefully many more, when I talk to other churches I know) over $1,000.

### Unethical Company

Their Sales Rep put down the wrong person in our Church as our lead. Then when informed of their mistake kept sending information to the wrong person. Then PushPay made us jump through hoops to resolve the their problem. After submitting the information they requested from our organization they would take a week or longer to get back to us with “Well, that did not work now we need you to submit “this” information”. That process went on repeatedly for more than two months. Finally we told their Sales Rep this was not working, the contract says if a problem cannot be resolved in 60 days it is voided and we want a refund so we can find a company that knows what they are doing. The Sales Rep tells us he spoke with his boss about our problems and that is a refund is not possible “so we are just going to start over”. We said that is not acceptable and requested a conference with his boss. When we spoke with the Sales Reps boss we discovered he had no idea who we were or the issues we were having (i.e. the Sales Rep lied). At the end of the conversation they tell us the only thing they will do is have us submit the information again they are requesting (AGAIN) and we can move forward from there. At this point we say we are done. They tell us we have a contract. We inform them “a contract that you have breached by the contract, we are moving on”. After 3 months and $2400 the only thing we received from PushPay is lies and incompetence. Avoid PushPay at all cost.

We never implemented their service because of their incomparable.

Their representatives did not listen and lied to us then would not make it right and after breaching their own contract refused to refund us our money.

### Great for our monthly tithes

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5

#### Pros

We absolutely love this product for paying our monthly church tithes. It has made everything so much easier now that we set it up for a weekly draw on our account and that's it!! Also, if we are wanting to contribute to any other fund at the church they simply add it to the drop down menu and we can easily go in and pay whether we are in church or not. Makes everything much more simple and keeps our tithes on track so that we don't miss any.

#### Cons

The only con I have noticed is there aren't many people in our church using it right now. I think the 55 and older crowd still prefer to write a check so we haven't seen the full benefits of implementing it just yet. But we are going to set up "stations" at events to have some of the youth set it up for people who might not be as tech savvy.
