The more time that passes, I don't see this issue being resolved. They keep adding features when they should probably scale some back. There's also no auto-checking built-in feature, so people who type in a due date that doesn't match the assigned due date of a task get no warning pop-up.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 3/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 1/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

It's commonplace among universities, so students who transfer universities do not have a huge learning curve. It also has a lot of features from teachers to choose from.

#### Cons

Canvas' pros of having many features often turns out to be a negative because users are not given any instruction on how to best deploy those features. Many teachers' pages are chaotic and very dissimilar to one another, which confuses students.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

Canvas gives an user friendly interface which makes creating assignments, images, course management and many more things easy. When used it as a student it made me keep up with the notifications which helped me meet my deadlines on time. The platform also works well when collaborated with other tools like Drive or MS Office.

#### Cons

Though overall product is good but there are some let downs as well. Like it gets slow at the time of deadline submissions.

I still love this program. It is very easy to set up an online course in this program, complete with lectures to view, essays or papers to submit, discussions in which to participate with other students, etc.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5

#### Pros

They have made improvements to the options for setting up pages and assignments. There are integrations that can be made that help with such things as meeting accessibility standards.

#### Cons

To be honest, there is nothing that has gotten worse about it. There are still times when one has to consult the user guide, though this is rare because the program is very intuitive.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

I used it as a curriculum designer and as a middle school teacher, and it was easy to use; it provided all the tools I needed to grade, communicate with students, and provide a solid curriculum.

#### Cons

It can be costly for smaller schools, but there is a developer version that someone with coding or access to Claude code can use to create a robust educational tool.

#### Reasons for switching to Canvas

This is a much more robust product and gives everyone, administrators, teachers, and students, a better view of their grades and their work.

Prior to using this platform, we were using about five separate platforms to run our courses. That is a relief since I normally have trouble remembering to do it myself.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

Canvas for creating courses is mostly okay I suppose. I was expecting it would collapse under extreme stress. At least the grade book seems to retain some sort of record instead of occasionally wiping out random entries.

#### Cons

I am so tired of getting a bunch of unnecessary CSV files dumped into my lap instead of being given usable reports. What an irritation I also hate the fact that you cannot change the background colors. And there are too many click-throughs before reaching the Discussion Boards and then students will say that the whole system is clunky.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5

#### Pros

I mainly liked having everything for my courses in one place. I could check assignments, deadlines, grades, announcements, and course materials without having to look in different places. Once I got used to the layout, it was pretty easy to keep track of what was due each week.

#### Cons

The navigation was a little confusing sometimes, especially because every professor organized their course differently. Finding older files or specific course content occasionally took more time than it should have. Notifications could also pile up when I had multiple courses running at the same time.

#### Pros

I like that it is a place for centralized work and that it can host multiple things such as course work, homework, quizzes, etc. In addition, the fact that it has a mobile app makes it easy to access on devices which is a very big pro especially for students.

While having a mobile app is a very big pro, I have noticed that there are some limitations in it and some items work better in an actual web browser.

#### Pros

Very convenient for classes that I'm taking. Now that I'm not in school I use canvas for my continuing education courses. It has been easy to use to download the content I need.

#### Cons

Sometimes the format that is downloaded is not compatible. That might be because of the person uploading it or I'm not sure. I wish there were more options on what type of file to download it as.
