Overall the system is good, it does it's job and worth the cost. I think simplifying the building proccess and making repeated measures display a bit more informative would be better.

Impressive flexibility, ability customize forms with (almost) any imaginable feature/data flow.

Also, the randomization tab is always available, which can lead to errors because some people randomize the patient before being certain that the patient can be included in the study.

I love how you can play around with setting up a study (test study) so you can learn and implement that best data collection process for your study. The customization is great.

I like that Castor EDC is user friendly software. I can quickly enter data and I have order, then I can easily work with all data.

I had trouble changing the entered data later and there was no color change after the questions were answered.

We use CastorEDC for clinical trial data management. It's been great working with Castor, and their customer service always responds so promptly and is always super helpful.

The buildup of the software is not very flexible, it is not possible to click and drop certain parts of questionnaires to other parts of the database. Moving things around is quite difficult.

Some Tools ae missing for my Purpose e.g. multimedial integration.

Also making queries is very nice, it has multiple steps in closing a query what makes it very clear. What's also great is that gaining access to a database is very simple and easily arranged.

The software is user friendly, and it is clear that (medical) researchers were involved in the development of the software - which is very convenient.

In the past, I had issues with obtaining a calculation for a specific formula and the customer support was so helpful, truly. Responses were almost immediate and my issue was resolved.

Overall it is a good and solid platform that is easy to use and master. You can achieve a lot with a minimum of effort.

Add to that the amazing customer service and I was even happier.

It's the only way to find and send reports to sites/safety teams that do not have access to Insight. The automated survey invitation tool is a mess.

Additionally, for smaller research institutions with tighter budgets, the cost structure of the program can be a barrier.

There is openness to feedback on what can be improved within the system and there is typically good communication with the person helping with the form designs. Sites find the system very easy to use.

OC Enterprise offers a robust GxP compliant  core EDC solution at a cost effective price point.

They are very supportive of our changing needs, and this solution provided robust core EDC system as a very cost effective option for our growing data management programs.

The online user community was extremely helpful and a great resource.

Furthermore, using the CRF is not intuitive at all. I am quite disappointed.

The ease of use has saved countless working hours but also produces high quality eCRFs - a product the OpenClinica team should be immensely proud of.

The software is very user friendly and yet embedded with very powerful functionalities for creating a study.

However, since the release of OC4 that has all changed. OC4 is a exceptional product and a significant improvement from OC3.

But after the first few CRFs build from scratch, it became very easy.

I love the diversity in the form design. There are a lot of great features and possibilities that can make a very sophisticated form/study.

The web-based interface is user-friendly, and the new features of real-time queries, and auto-saving features really improve the user experience for data entry persons.

No offline data entry capability. Programmer skills are needed to implement complex validations during CRF design.

It is intuitive and ease of use. Also I like Metabase which is easy to query data by using SQL.

Super User Training is very helpful for data managers when building CRFs. If regulatory submission is required, the Regulatory Support Package service is highly recommended.

This program is a difficult program, which I tried to use for my clinical trial. Building the case report form took ages, and a lot of frustration.

OC4 is extremely user friendly for both administrators and users. The study build is straight forward,  allowing for powerful eCRFs to be designed, developed and validated with ease.

Compatibility with browsers other than IE is a major problem. In-Flexibility in changing CRF versions.

I really like the system - you do not have to know much about programming to use it and the OC support is just amazing.

Supports repeating events. Support grid layout questions which is helpful (e.g. if you wont record participant's medication history).

If I pay for the training hours that I'm forced to by in certain hour blocks of time then I should get to use them whenever I need them, not in a window of time that OC thinks is reasonable.

I have been using OpenClinica for years, and really love the new features in OpenClinica4.

Cross form date checks are not at all easy and very much needed to quickly catch the system errors that happen.

Development processes are well controlled and the company is at a mature place in testing and compliance. Aside from really nice software, the people are really lovely and provide excellent support.
