Glofox is a gym and studio management and app solution, designed to cater to the unique needs of gyms, fitness, yoga and pilates studios. The solution helps gym and studio owners improve admin tasks such as class scheduling, member management, billing, reporting and check-in.

Glofox allows gym and studio owners to drive bookings through a dedicated Member App on iOS and Android devices. Members can book and pay for classes, courses, appointments and memberships through a mobile app and a website portal. The same portal can be connected to the social media pages, so members can book and pay straight from the social media accounts. The solution helps users keep track of schedules, memberships, bookings and payments.

Glofox provides a reporting feature that helps users review key metrics such as membership sales, attendance rates and failed payments. Users can also keep their members engaged and inform them of changes through app notifications and messages. Pricing is per month and paid quarterly.

Glofox is simple and easy to use. If you have questions their support team is fast and are able to help with any issues.

Pros

The app on the phone so I am able to track attendance and emails letting me know who has signed up for what class is awesome.

Cons

When there is an issues for instance with the app it could take till an update to be fixed. There are no other cons.

Glofox declined to refund us the two month's subscription service that we did not use. Nor did they offer any compensation for the lost days that we had no services and blank screen. We chose to go with Zen Planner. I can't tell if we were all suffering from PTSD, but they put Glofox to shame with response time, and clarity with support. We feel like we've won the lottery. If you are a new facility? Regardless of any software you choose, I would suggest that you arrange for your clients payments to come out on the same days (ex 1st and 15th). It will help you with predicting your budgets, and should you decide to switch from any software to another, it will make transition way less stressful and easier to track concerns , rather than MONEY IN everyday. It took us three months alone to switch and make sure all clients were accounted for. That was a challenge, but it was SO WORTH IT to get out of this Twilight Zone. Sorry guys.

Pros

The outward ease of use and simplicity. We were a new business, so we looked for something that was simple to use, attractive, and an app with our logo. Initial communication with friendly Irish brogue humans was enjoyable. We all fell in love. Stripe was fantastic. Would have loved to have taken advantage of their ACH services, but Glofox did not support.

Cons

Please note that the majority of reviews that are listed here were done in 2017, after they had launched, and they ask for reviews after initial set-up. Our app tanked so often that 3 months after we opened, our clients just stopped using it. There were glitches in the system that would prevent us from even LOGGING in for extended periods of time. Repeated requests for help went unanswered for DAYS. There were DAYS (and on a WEEKEND- our highest volume time) where we were without use of Glofox, and had no response from support. Additionally, it felt like every other Monday is a holiday in Ireland. Sometimes we would ask for help with a specific client and they simply would not respond even after multiple attempts. One inquiry was not addressed at all for SIX WEEKS. This resulted in lost income in every case. For the first six months we took the responsibility square on our shoulders believing that it was inexperience on our part. However, having owned multiple businesses (which are still in existence and thriving), it became clear that it wasn't us.

Firstly, I want to apologise to you as you obviously had a bad experience with the software which resulted in you leaving us. I'm sorry that we did not live up to your expectations.

We pride ourselves on good customer service and when I saw your review I reviewed every interaction you had with our support team from Dec 2016 when you became a customer. Of all the tickets, over 95% were responded to within one day as per our response time targets for non urgent issues. Some technical support issues took longer to resolve as they require investigation from our technical team and in some cases development work.

I did not find any major issues or lags in support coverage except for the issue you report when you were without use of Glofox. I appreciate that this is unacceptable and I am sincerely sorry that this occurred. The agent dealing with this query sent you the fix for this browser issue on the same day it was sent in. This had solved a similar browser issues for you before. This agent then finished up for a week of annual leave and forgot to assign the ticket to a colleague to follow up. This was human error on his part and I take responsibility for this process failure rather than a software error.

With regard to not refunding you for time not used on the software, we are proud to say that we have one of the most flexible cancellation policies in this industry. You were on a recurring quarterly contract and you can cancel at any point during the quarter even the day before the renewal date. We do not have minimum notice periods etc. like many other providers.

Booking/ Management application for smart phones

High Definition Fitness has been open for a little over two years. At the beginning, we took bookings for fitness classes over the phone. This became unrealistic as HD Fitness grew and grew. Glofox developed a booking application for the gym and it gives the power to members and 'pay as you go' clients to book fitness classes up to a week in advance without having to contact us directly.

Pros

The application has saved us a lot of time which can be utilised doing other tasks in the day to day running of the gym.

Cons

The staff at Glofox were always on hand to answer any questions we had regarding the app and their support network is top notch! Can't fault it!

Advice to Others

Glofox were a pleasure to deal with during the development stages of the app and with training on how to use it to our maximum benefit. So even if you're not really strong on the tech front, this will be the perfect solution for your gym.

After doing a whole lot of research I came across Glofox. I have been signed up with them for a year now and to be honest I've not looked back.The software does everything I need and more.
Customer support is 100% and that has been consistent throughout the year. They have always been friendly, patience and very helpful, for that alone I would recommend them.
I love using the software but what is better is my clients love the app. I was redesigning my website and thought it was a novelty, but actually it has been much more than that.
I am very happy with Glofox and would highly recommended them.

Pros

It's easy to use, clients are really impressed with the app. Its cuts down on admin so saves me time. I can now reach everyone with push notifications and clients can be responsible for their own classes which again saves me a number of emails and calls.

Cons

I would use the shop if there was a shipping option. To allow therapists to be able to access their part of the app to adjust their personal schedule.

I'm not very good with technical stuff so I didn't think an app would be good for me, might give more stress than it's worth. I was wrong , it's fool proof (example- ME !!!)

All my clients tell me how good and easy it is to use, I'd be lost without it now, 90% of my customers use it to book with me and I can see how classes are doing for the week ahead. Payments go through very speedy from customers. Can't fault it , wouldn't have a business without it now.

My experience with Glofox has been fantastic. The training was very easy to follow and their support team made sure I had everything I needed to get up and running - very understanding and always happy to help out with any queries.

Pros

The admin dashboard makes it really easy to keep track of my class schedule, memberships, payments and overall member activity. If you want to spend more time than ever before with your clients helping them achieve their goals, you need a system like this! The reporting section of the dashboard makes it effortless to monitor our performance: sales (by class, membership, course or even trainer), first time visits, bookings and attendances etc. This is great for identifying areas of the business that have room for growth. The app itself is so simple for our members to use. They can easily book their class or course and even pay for it straight through the app. If there's an update or news that I need to circulate fast, I can do it with the app, minus the hassle of calling up clients or wondering if they opened the email or not. These push notifications through the app are a great way to promote new classes or courses too. People see our messages on the home screen of their phone almost as soon as we send them and they can book in on the exact same platform. The perfect way to increase bookings and keep the momentum going! Not to mention, a great way to generate new leads. We can promote the app and encourage potential members to download it and get a taste of what we have to offer.

Cons

It would have been great if we found Glofox sooner!

It's Engaging and Easy to Use

Since opening my Yoga business 4 years ago, I found keeping my students engaged and keeping on top of my cash-flow was challenging. From working in some yoga studios I was using their online booking systems to check in students and payments. I found other systems cumbersome to do the most simplest task.
One studio I hold yoga classes was (and still is) using Glofox and thought this was so much easier to do book, check in and receive payments, all online! I contacted Anthony from Glofox and showed me how easy it is to set up, and share with my clients.


Pros

Payments are processed by another Irish company called Stripe. This is an additional module to the Glofox suite but it is coupled with the simplicity and seamless completion. This gives me and my clients an Excellent Customer Experience.

Cons

If I do encounter issues with memberships and sometimes issues with students not able to book a class, support is only an email away or on their website, with a very quick response it is sorted. No delay and supporting the above mentioned, Excellent Customer Experience.

Advice to Others

I would be happy to recommend Glofox to Freelance Yoga and Pilates teachers as well as existing Yoga studios.

This is the first review I've ever written for a software I didn't purchase. I worked with the Glofox team to work through whether or not we could utilize the Glofox software for our mobile corporate wellness company - a very different use than the software is intended! While we had too many needs that were outside the normal functionality of the software, support team was amazing thinking partner in brainstorming ways we could make the service fit our needs. We also got to explore and get hands-on with the interface, and as a previous client of Mindbody, I was blown away by not only the aesthetics, but the functionality of their product for gyms/studios. If I were to open a brick-and-mortar, this would be the software I would use.

Cons

We did not fully utilize the software, so I can't say exactly. For our needs (not standard) we would have loved to see calendar sync and reminder emails.

This software is customer friendly. It's layout is simple to use and once you understand the functions it's super fast which has meant staff training time is reduced as well as client training also.
I have all the key information I need to hand and when reconciling month end figures and performance it has over halved the time taken and improved the accuracy of reporting 100%.
The staff at Glofox have been fantastic from start all the way to support once we have launched. Marko was our project coordinator and his help and guidance has made the whole transfer feel seemless. The support staff are fast and really great at helping sort any queries we may have. The connection with stripe is working really well and has actually massively helped our cash flow as opposed to confusing direct debit charges and payment frequency's.
I'm yet to establish something wrong with this system and if we identify any areas that need adjusting the team at Glofox already seem ahead of the game.
The web integration is the easiest I've seen, having used mindbody previously I was astounded as to how simple this is, we can share direct links, you tube videos etc.

Cons

We are nearly and Month an Half into our full launch and as of yet I can't find anything I don't like about it.

Cons

There have been a few small drawbacks on lack of functions, like the ability to select individuals or groups for push notifications, but overall there haven't been any big issues so far.

The software is extremely easy to use. A child could run your company! The interface that the customers see is direct and easy to follow. This reduces my time of answering questions. The app mails me if anyone missed a payment and makes it very easy identify who has paid and when.

Cons

My only problem is not with the app, it's with Stripe. Sometimes the money takes up to 7 days to hit my account but again nothing to do with GloFox

We made the mistake of trying to manage our own CRM when we launched our gym. Within 4 weeks of opening we realized this was a huge mistake. We considered many platforms and software company partners to improve our efficiency. The Glofox integrated platform for booking, communication, CRM and payments has given our customers a fantastic experience, interface and reliability when booking and paying. For us it saves us countless hours each week, works efficiently on the go, in the gym and literally on the studio floor whilst coaching. Every technology has an occasion gremlin but if so any problem is quickly remedied by their great team, who work as hard for you, as you do for your own customers.

Cons

Our own company branded Glofox app, the most expensive solution, did take slightly longer than we hoped to get finished, only a few days late, mainly because of Apple app store slowness but it was worth the wait in the end.

Cons

there are not to many things we dont like about the soft ware. The only small problem is if we have a issue it usually takes a day or to to resolve via email.

The only real negative is that it is not possible to deal with a family membership, or allow one spouse to sign up for another without doing separate logins.

I like the visual appeal and layout of the software and how easy it makes it for people to book in online but also how easy it makes it for me to be able to allow clients to buy online courses and workshops as well as classes. (Senior account executive) contacted me initially when i was setting up in business but at that stage i had signed up with MBO and I wasn't going to change but fast forward a year and I actually got in touch with rep to talk about their software as my online sales weren't as strong as I wanted them to be. The changeover was made as painless as it could be, a lot of the credit for this has to go to my account manager and his customer support team, who are very good at what they do and I speak with rep on a regular basis which helps greatly when like me you're trying to grow your business. The partnership between Glofox and Yoga Alliance Professionals is also a big plus for me but in relation to growing my business, nothing tops having our own custom studio app which i am delighted to say is now starting to perform really well ( not much use having an app if you don't know how to utilise it or promote it and for this i have to thank account manager for showing me the way). i now feel like i have software that matches my ambitions for my business. It hasn't all been plain sailing but what is!. I really believe in Glofox and can see them going from strength to strength in the future.

The cons that i have experienced are simple, sometimes the software suffers from bugs but i know that Glofox work hard to eradicate this and in my experience the customer support team always have a solution to help you navigate around this until they find the problem so for me it's something i can live with as the updates and new additions to the software plus the fact that i can see through their reports, exactly where my business is growing.

The system is absolutely fantastic and couldnt be more straight forward to use. We were talked, with ease, the whole way through the process which made our transition very smooth. The difference in what we had previously to the Glofox system now is night and day. We have expanded our base membership by simply moving to this new system and see so much more potential in our growth now its been implemented.

Cons

We think the system as it is. We would like to see some additions that would help member tracking more efficient, but these are very minor points that would only improve the service further.

The Custom Members App. Our clients like the fact that they can get to know us, our schedule, book the classes and pay for memberships through there. On our side it's easier to market our business!

Cons

Software, customer care, support, lack of attention to detail from designers, I am a patient person but this app has taken me to the bitter end to build!

The day to day running of my gym has vastly improved

Pros

It's pretty much turned my gym around, I love the custom APP, where customers can book in for classes, The dashboard is simple and clean and so easy to use. I use Glofox all day everyday for my gym.

Booking clients, customers and managing my diary, to selling physical products, managing members, checking in members and so much more!

Cons

I would love to see a vast improvement on admin app, as on the phone the desktop site for the dashboard isnt great and admin login on the app has limited options.
