Fiix is a cloud-based computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) that helps businesses organize their maintenance departments, get on top of maintenance backlog, and work towards preventive maintenance.

The CMMS helps manage work orders and physical assets, schedules and tracks maintenance, and keeps detailed records of asset performance and maintenance history. Other features include inventory tracking, parts and supplies management, an interactive calendar, printable QR codes for easy asset tagging, customizable reports, multi-site management, ERP integrations and more.

Fiix is a web-based solution, aiding in setup and automatic updates. All users also get access to the Fiix mobile app, which puts the CMMS into the hands of technicians in the field. The system is compatible with Mac and Windows operating systems, as well as any iOS or Android mobile device.

The biggest advantage this software has brought our company is finally having a indexed system for PM information. Instead of looking up PMs in a log book all we need to do is search the WO history.

Pros

Very easy to use, and very easy to train other employee's on its use. At our company we have quite a lot of older employee's that usually have trouble with technology. I recently trained a technician who isn't to good with computers and he can already navigate the UI and submit WOs.

Cons

The only con I have found so far is that I can't seem to print the asset tags. It just doesn't want to print. I'm sure the problem with be fixed. Not a huge deal, but that is the only problem I have had so far that I haven't been able to resolve on my own.

Cons

Pros

The ease of use of the dashboard was the selling point for us. It's so intuitive to use and the setup is a breeze from any other program I have reviewed and used. I really enjoyed the preview of the demo software and the salesman was right on point for any questions we had. They really put a lot of thought into this software! I am extremely excited to get this rolling out. This software has the potential to become our corporate-wide CMMS software.

Pros

The benefits of using Fiix as opposed to other options of CMMS programs are that it is Easy to use, comes with a Free demo, and is Competitive pricewise

Cons

Although it has mostly the same features, it Lacks some dynamic features of other, more expensive CMMS programs. (obviously more expensive = more stuff but I didn't know what else to write here)

I trialed a lot of software and found Fiix to be the best fit for the money for our company. The ease of use and mobile capability made it the perfect fit.

Pros

Ease of use, mobile ability, and growth ability make this perfect for a small business wanting a system to grow with.

Cons

There are several things about this software that are incredible. First off they were the only company willing to let us try a demo of their program and use their excel templates. They are confident in their product and they should be because it is excellent. Another key selling point for us was that they are very user friendly and provide lots of resources to help anyone figure out how to use their product. The last key point is that their product and the price were perfect for our size. We are not a production facility with lots of equipment, we are a distributions center with 2 mechanics and a moderate amount of equipment. Most companies I talked to just didn't have a product plan to meet a small scale operation.

Pros

-Extremely user friendly
-Free trial available before purchase
-Easy to import info from Excel
-Strong mobile aplication
-QR codes for assets are essential
-Great price
-Very helpful and friendly staff

Cons

-When I created a domain for the trial service I couldn't import everything from that into the actual version when we purchased it.

Pros

I like the Dashboard and also the recently updated calendar-it is way better than before. The video and technical support is available in the website that makes me easy to set up the software.

Cons

I didn't see a feature that allows the Work order to starts its hour when open or scanned . I mean that when I scan or log in in the WO the time should start charging to that work order.

I use Fiix CMMS Software for Maintenance of Analytical Instrument under Good Laboratory Practice and FDA Regulations. I'm using it to manage instrument inventory, maintenance schedule, repairs and parts. It does the job very well for a very small portion of the price of a specialized Software for Maintenance Management in a laboratory.

Pros

Best Value for money on a 10:1 margin.

Cons

Not the most attractive interface of all the CMMS Software.

Advice to Others

You can try the free trial, it works very well.

I was looking for an easy to use CMMS mainly for setting up a PM system to satisfy auditors in our small factory, however my wishlist grew when I realised that our field based activities and difficult to track spares stock could also be taken care of with a CMMS. The problem came when many systems are over complicated and over priced for my use and others didn't have the android app to assist in field based activities. With a small budget for the software I looked at "free" software but soon found the limitations on these, also one system that was free and open source struggled to install on our servers and had zero support.
I tried the free trial of MA and was instantly impressed, it just works! and is very easy to use. I moved onto the cost effective paid version and have been impressed with it so far. I would thoroughly recommend you try it.

Likes Least

The negatives are small and the positives outweigh them, very knowledgable support is there and I have used it by direct email, however a better knowledge base would be great and a support ticket system. A more customisable app and one with offline support for when you have no data signal would be brilliant.

Recommendations

I recommend trying before you buy, I did and MA came on top.

It had all the functionality I needed from parts tracking, meter readings, preventive maintenance schedules, etc.

No schedules are available for common equipment. The price hike made it too expensive for homeowner and small business use.

Recommendations

I ended up writing my own hosted solution. It is free (monetized by replacement part suggestions) and has the added bonus of shared public schedules for common machines (cars, trucks, compressors, generators).

On 372 acres, less than five miles from an extinct volcano, Kauai's Hindu Monestary is the home to 20+ monastics. Here we manage a world congregation and publish an international magazine, "Hinduism Today". We care for the land and buildings, grow much of our own food, and have just installed a 30KW photovoltaic system. We have five tractors, four utility vehicles, a skid steer, a construction loader/backhoe, a "Mini" excavator and hundreds of other assets. All of this requires maintenance, from the largest machine down to the smallest garden bed, and it is all managed through the use of Maintenance Assistant (MA) CMMS.

The monastics use the relational database management system and IDE "4D" for much of their accounting, inventory, member and student data and mailing lists. For many years, it's calendar component was also used to manage and schedule the monastery maintenance until the programming became too much of a burden due to a constantly expanding and changing maintenance need. Also, many much needed aspects such as metering and parts inventory had not been programmed into the 4D system, representing additional programming burdens.

Then monks searched for something relatively simple, inexpensive, and effective - they found MA CMMS. They started with MA version V3.0 in 2009. The initial changeover of hundreds of assets and routines was time consuming, but relatively easy once the overall structure was assimilated. The program works admirably well for an incredibly diverse range of routines. The MA staff was amused to find that the monks even entered the schedules for planting and harvesting kale, swiss chard, and a range of other vegetables; as well as the picking of the many varieties of tropical fruit on the property as each one comes "on-line". Learning to use MA by the maintenance team was not a long stretch from the original system and was quick and easy.

One of the greatest boons in the changeover to and development of the program, was the availability of the MA support team. Suggested changes and bug reports have been handled quickly, sometimes overnight, and they have worked closely with the monastics at every step of the program implementation. They have made what could have been a difficult task a relatively simple and smooth transition. MA has opened doors which would have otherwise remained closed, and provides a bright future for the continued expansion and maintenance of this small Hindu monastery on the Garden Island of Kauai.

As an independent educational institution with full boarding facilities, we are essentially a 500 people village. We manage several areas within the campus, ranging from water & waste to buildings and facilities.

We chose MA because of the ease of use. We set it up on our own and found the process to be simple and well documented. The technical support team have been superb. Prior to this an Excel spreadsheet was used to manage the work requests. No planned maintenance was being done. Maintenance management and control was very much re-active.

We have been running on this system for just over a year and have found it to be an integral part of our daily operations.

It's an easy way to communicate within the company and to make sure action items don't get forgotten or lost.

Pros

I like that I get updates on the jobs I request. The overall feel of the system is great and it gives many options to keep the system standard. It's great that it's web based so many people can access it.

Cons

There are a lot of options, which is a pro, but also it can be kind of complicated for new users. Some more simple instructions for placing work orders, within the system, would be great.

Ease of use, Customer service, reports, etc. In fact the CMMS is really simple and efficient. I've been SAP PM Key user for 8+ years before using Fiix and almost everything you need for maintenance management is really at hand. The software's inherent customization is impresive.

Cons

Integration with ERP, I don't know if that is possible, sometimes and ins some parts of the software the translation is not very accurate, or hasn't been translated at all and as I'm in Chile our technicians aren't fluent in English and that can create certain confusion

Regular preventive maintenance is what has given us 100% up time over the past 12 months. Fiix (formerly Maintenance Assistant) is key to ensuring all preventive maintenance tasks are performed regularly.

Pros

Great value for the money. Cloud based so there are no hardware expenses. iPhone and Android applications make clearing work orders easy. Very reliable - it's never not worked. We use the product to create preventive maintenance work orders to ensure the reliability of the city public safety radio system. The facilities include AC units, UPSs, and various types of RF equipment that need to be regularly inspected or tested. It's the perfect product for this purpose.

Cons

It can be a bit complicated - some of which is simply due to it being browser/cloud based rather than a stand-alone application.

We have been far more organized and can store documents digitally now that would have been in a filing cabinet. Also eliminates the need for phone calls and email to request work to be performed. This is our first software system. Prior to this we did all paper tracking.

Pros

The work order portion of this software is very easy to use. Works very well for tracking history, receiving new issues and documenting work progress. Organizes the work orders very well. The link for employees to submit work orders works well and the submission form is easy for anyone to fill out without much difficulty.

Cons

The mobile app is not designed the way that works best for me or my techs. It does show new work orders easily but it is hard to close out work orders and provide documentation. It is much easier to take notes in the field and then use the computer log in program to finish this portion of the work orders.

Use of this software over the past 2 years has allowed for us to go through Joint Commission inspections with ease. Inspectors have really liked it.

I have gained knowledge in terms of proper monitoring of an asset in which my company benefits. Innovation on the system of maintenance it is a big help for us in many terms such, inventory, repairs, life span of equipment, even certificate also monitored in the software. The big impact to us is we lessen the downtimes especially in the operations. And the equipment schedule PMS the system will remind the team for the due and classification of the particular repair to be executed. We are very pleased know a days even we have not perfectly or 100% utilized the features of the software but we appreciate the development in our operations, manpower skills and coordination. For me overall I am very lucky that I am using or my company subscribe this software.

Pros

My experience I like most in software is that it's very systematic and detailed especially on our assets. Maintenance rely on the system at the present even minor problem already assess by the team and encoded to the system for future use/traceability. And there are updates we received or inputs from the software for upgrades and improvement for the team.

Honestly not all features in the system we are using as of the moment, the team focussed only in the maintenance side on the available data in which necessary to our operation. All assets of the company were already encoded in the system and monitored thru the software. There are occasions or times that all our data lost in the system we do not know what's the reasons, maybe once a month since we used the software. But, back in our mind maybe a connection failure or maintenance service in the system because after a day all data's are available, we will experience these during a week before month end in which during our kpi's in the department. This is least like for me.

Pros

Limitless asset maintenance programs can be loaded onto the software.
The auto generated reports give me a piece mind.
The constant updates and its compatibility with modern Technology set it apart.

Cons

Batch work order functionality need to be enhanced for user to have choice on what need to be displayed e.g. Estimated hours
People learn through interactions, FIIX Consultants should organize at least Annual End Users Conference where we could share our experiences with the software.

Video training on the program. internet based, and great training for use on the program. Great for showing reports to auditors and managers..

Cons

Need to be able to develop custom reports other than pulling down into excel. As per a user stand point, easier to enter work order.

The ease of use and the ability to go back and make changes or add to work orders is a very nice feature .

Cons

The system has a minimum for parts for when to reorder but our purchaser has to guess on how many parts to reorder , I think it would be nice to have a box for how many parts to reorder maybe call it suggested restock .
