Pros/Cons
Pros
- Most importantly, DocStar's customer service has been TOP NOTCH...although to be fair, we hardly ever have to call them since the solution is so stable.
- The best about docstar ecm is that the software is user friendly has lot of useful features for enterprise data management.
- Very satisfied with the system and would highly recommend.
Cons
- Trying to find documents for audits was a tedious, costly process and storing documents in file cabinets exposes our organization to theft and loss.
- Horrible experience ending with litigation with PIF Technologies.
- Lack of documentation on how to use the software or how to customize it. Difficultly customizing the software so that users can use it.
Pros
- A great and easy to use product that integrates seamlessly into windows. I enjoyed using it to quickly share files.
- Sharepoint does a good job of sharing content within and between teams by using Sharepoint as an intranet. Sharepoint has good version control for documents which can be useful.
- We have used this program for years - we started using it when we moved to a paperless company. This has great storage capacity - and the ease of finding documents is great.
Cons
- The search feature does not work too well and we find it odd that you have to open a text file and then open it again to edit it.
- Inability to drag and drop. At times only option is to download or upload files on to SharePoint.
- We need to depend on Microsoft support team for troubleshooting issues by providing the correlation id of the issues. The 5000 row limit of the List is the most annoying limitation of the SharePoint.
