eFileCabinet is a document management solution (DMS) that is suitable for companies of all sizes and in a wide range of industries such as accounting and financial services, manufacturing and healthcare. The solution can be hosted on premise or in the cloud, depending on the user's needs.

eFileCabinet enables users to manage digital data through automated organization, approvals and sharing all from one dashboard. It offers optical character recognition (OCR) which automatically names files, builds a dynamic directory for them and sends them where they need to go.

eFileCabinet offers integration with Salesforce, which gives users the ability to drag and drop and manage files from either system. The system is accessible using mobile apps that can be used from a smartphone or tablet. With this feature, users can take pictures of documents to upload them directly to the app.

    Not worth it unless you NEED customer support

    We trialed eFileCabinet for a smaller business and found that it didn't bring enough value for us to keep it over Google Drive. After 60 days, we cancelled our account and went to Google Drive.

    Pros

    The best thing about this software is the phone customer support which you lose with Google Drive. It has the same features such as being web based, having cell phone apps, etc. I will also admit that it is very easy to use and navigate. It's also a little more obvious to see sharing/restriction settings. They also claim to be very secure compared to other options but I am not an expert in this area.

    Cons

    Google Drive provides a much better service at a fraction of the cost. It also integrates a lot of other features like editing documents online that eFileCabinet doesn't allow.

    Fantastic document management system I use for work and personal files

    I wish I would have found this software earlier in my career. I have never been so organized and my office has never run so smoothly. I can't say enough how much this has helped my business and my selling process.

    Pros

    The eFileCabinet sidekick app is always on my desktop. The ease of dragging and dropping files into the app as well as the organization keeps me extremely organized so I can focus on more important tasks. Having all my data in the cloud allows me to access it anywhere and has helped me win new business on multiple occasions. I can't see myself ever going without this software.

    Cons

    eFileCabinet isn't the cheapest but you get what you pay for. I am happy to pay a higher amount for the ease-of-use of the software and their great customer support. I do wish they had a monthly payment option but I have no issues continuing to pay the annual amount.

    eFileCabinet has helped me organize data on my desktop so that it can easily be found. This software allowed me to sort files according to my style which is a great feature. Privacy is well thought of upon creation of this software. Another feature of this software is the ability to access files anywhere through mobile.

    Cons

    Not all file extensions can be uploaded, which is bothersome, given that our company deals greatly with a lot of different data. Future updates might be able to fix this issue.

    I like the ability to set up secure document storage that others at work don't have access to. Our business floats on a sea of paper and eFileCabinet lets me reduce some of that paper.

    Cons

    Limited file types are supported. Our DMS will not communicate with eFileCabinet nor will our CRM.

    eFileCabinet is a data storage system that can store hundreds of different electronic data, such as PDFs, Microsoft Word files, jpegs, and others. It is simple to setup and easy to use. The availability of eFileCabinet in mobile, both android and iOs, makes carrying hundreds of files and data possible. A lock screen feature for mobile is also present making your files available just for you.

    Cons

    The inability to upload multiple files at times is a great downside but so far, that is the only problem I have faced with eFileCabinet. Everything is working as how it should be.

    The System used to work great, but.......

    I have used this system for three years and until June of this year it worked well. There was the occasional hiccup but it was always addressed and addressed quickly by tech support. In early June files would randomly become corrupt and unusable. Although I have contacted tech support again and again it is now the end of August and this has not been resolved. Initially I was told that I was the only user experiencing the problem. I was later told that many users were having the issue and that I am now the only one still experiencing it. I have been told multiple times that the issue has been 'escalated' to some department or other and then I get an email asking for some piece of information or two and then nothing. No follow up, no correction. I am losing data on a daily basis and this is costing me untold $$$ in billable hours while my staff spends time recreating files and data instead of supporting my clients!!

    Pros

    There is no predesigned formatting or folders so I am able to set up my files exactly as I wanted them to appear.

    Cons

    Continual document corruptions and being given the runaround by customer service and tech support.

    I have had an excellent experience learning to use eFile. It is intuitive and the customer service I've been given is amazing!

    Horrible product experience. I worked to setup files with efilecabinet and it went horribly wrong. They sent out invites to my clients 8 times in a row and sent out my personal email even though we waited for about a week to tech support to change it so that would not happen. Some clients who got he invite could not access the accounts. They could also only set up about 1/5th of my clients due to tech issues. It has been over a week and I am still responding to clients who got emails. They will not issue a refund as it was beyond 30 days since the start of the product. It took about that long just to get tech support to work on it, but part of that was my fault as I was still dealing with tax client volume. The only way to cancel is to contact the sales person and he took over 5 days to respond. The only response was no refund. They did give the option to have the 2nd year for free, but if it does not work, how is that a value.

    Cons

    Functionality is great if it worked. The have pricing option that is better than others and they allow for cloud based hosting of files. I don't like anything to be on my desktop anymore just in case of computer issues which I have experienced.

    Very easy to use and learn. Love how everything is kept in one place. Helped to install and use this software for a friend of mine with a small business who had client paperwork EVERYWHERE. The business is much more efficient now and you don't have to be super tech savvy to use it. Customer support has been great!

    Cons

    Cost is a bit high overall; there should be different levels for the different sizes of business. Otherwise a great software solution for files!

    I would highly recommend the product to any size business, especially small business owners with fragmented components that are costing them money. This product saves money and improves productivity.

    Pros

    Top the line data protection, very user-friendly, seamless integration, provides peace of mind knowing that you can continue your operations from anywhere there is internet service.

    Cons

    Training not geared to small business and startups that are not tech savvy. Customized training may help the implementation go smoother and not frighten the nontech owner away.

    Steamlines my work process and eliminates saving anything anywhere else - whether that's paper, emails, receipts and invoices. LOVE IT!

    Pros

    SUPER easy to learn and use. I don't save emails, receipts, invoices, or other "paperwork" anywhere else anymore as I can save it all here and find easily anytime I need it. A lifesaver.

    I honestly have not found one thing that I don't like or use - it's that simple, effective and easy to train others on.

    No more paper and file cabinests

    no paper storage after underwriting is completed. No need for duplicate paper files. Easier to access client file rather than cumbersome paper files.

    Pros

    Files are accessible at my two offices, no need to have duplicates. Speed of uploading or down loading client file exceptional. Customer training and support excellent. In second year savings were substantial due to not having printing, storage costs of original files plus need for duplicate files. My Client files have to be stored for minimum of ten years

    Cons

    If cancel service then lose files not accessible. Annual service fee high. If have no internet access cannot access. Cannot access on iiPad at this time.

    Efilecabinet provides my organization with a remote location where we can easily save company files securely ,and make it accessible to all of the right people within the organization.
    Since adopting efilecabinet , there has been less and less use for paper within my office environment or the need to manage hard copies of our documents.Overall ,we are helping our environment stay green by greatly reducing our paper consumption.
    File upload speed and scan on eFileCabinet is very fast and dependable.

    Cons

    User interface can be more intuitive than it has been for the past two upgrades.On two occasions ,we experience server outtages and weren't able to use this application for a few hours. That was back in 2016 and we haven't experienced such since then.

    Fabulous customer service with a product that has yet to disappoint me.

    Pros

    The ease of use and functionality can't be beat. The software flows easily and makes sense to the user - there's nothing tricky to figure out. Document retention is key for our small business and this software is the best we've had (this is our 3rd company), and we plan to keep it indefinitely. Customer Service is top notch, too!

    Cons

    Cost effectiveness is always a concern for small businesses. It would be nice to be able to tailor the "level" of software we need (i.e. simple document retention 'only' versions). But you also get what you pay for, and this is worth every single penny.
