eFileCabinet is a document management solution (DMS) that is suitable for companies of all sizes and in a wide range of industries such as accounting and financial services, manufacturing and healthcare. The solution can be hosted on premise or in the cloud, depending on the user's needs.

eFileCabinet enables users to manage digital data through automated organization, approvals and sharing all from one dashboard. It offers optical character recognition (OCR) which automatically names files, builds a dynamic directory for them and sends them where they need to go.

eFileCabinet offers integration with Salesforce, which gives users the ability to drag and drop and manage files from either system. The system is accessible using mobile apps that can be used from a smartphone or tablet. With this feature, users can take pictures of documents to upload them directly to the app.

Easy of use. Plenty of small details taken into consideration such as documents of different types are referenced to their respected drawer types so any body can get any type of document very easily without having to search for a single pdf file among hundreds of word documents.

Cons

Learning curve might be tricky for some people but when you get it, you are ready to go with ease. Sometimes slows down while dealing with large files.

I have used eFileCabinet for to transfer information to and from my clients for about 4 years now. This software offers a user-friendly way to move files from one location to another. You can drop a file from anywhere all you have to do is put it into a cabinet and it will move automatically. You can control what cabinets, drawers, and files your co-workers and customers can see. I love that you have total control over all of your documentation. Also, if a customer requests a certain document, EFC makes it simple with SecureDrawer. Excellent software!

Cons

Price a little higher than what was expected. Could be a learning curve for someone new to navigate with the numerous features. Sometimes file downloading speed is a bit slow. Probably due to a larger file size along with internet connection.

The best features of this product are the OCR and automatic filing. Being able to scan a document and have it filed automatically saves us from having to tediously move each document to it's correct file. Also, the automatic purging of old files by setting retention dates is very helpful.

Cons

The online platform is much slower that the local software. It negates much of the benefit of having a system to increase efficiency when it gets bogged down through a browser.

E-File cabinet was fantastic with their conversion support. Friendly, professional, and rapid response time to any and ALL of my questions.

Pros

Ease of use, compatibility with Microsoft Office, very limited learning curve, great search ability for files, very simple to setup and expand as needed.

Cons

Sometimes is slow checking out files, depending on the size (file of about 2 GB took 5 minutes to download for corrections.

My office was searching for new software when we received information about using EFile Cabinet. This software is simple to use, install, and they provided great customer service to any questions that we had. Our office has a considerably small budget, but EFile Cabinet was able to give us a quote that would have worked for us. However, we lost some funding this year as we do not have a significant budget, so we were unable to purchase the software for use to store our data. We report trends to the university and this product would be helpful for us to export data for our reports. If we ever have the funding in the future, this would be a great product to keep our data collection in.

Sales Force Had No Idea of EFileCabinet's Capabilities

We needed to store documents that were searchable down to individual words. The sales force and our assigned account manager assured us this was well within the abilities of eFileCabinet. Now, after 6 months of work on our part, we find that NONE of our documents can be searched within the documents themselves, only titles and "key words" we would have had to assign ourselves. For months the company maintained the problem was with OCR; that turned out to be both misleading and untrue. EFileCabinet has limited applicability and is basically an on-line document repository. It is not very sophisticated in the informatics world; reasonably savvy people with access to MS Word, Adobe Acrobat and a database program such as FileMaker could outshine the capabilities of eFileCabinet at far less cost.

I like the versatility. From the beginning, I could see the many opportunities of how eFc could be used by other industries/situations. I am amazed that we have the ability to create a digital filing cabinet where WE, the user, can organize each drawer however is best for our business or our purpose. Organization can be as extremely detailed or as simplified as one wishes . If a piece of information needs to be shared outside of the business then there are numerous easy ways to do that including SecureDrawer. To top it off, it is not difficult to learn. We've all dealt with software that requires us to pull out our notes to work in it. Not eFc!

Cons

As with all software, there are little things that happen every once in a while. For example, 2% of the time when I type in a search word (that I know is there), nothing will come up. As I said, it's just a little thing.

Organization, access to documents wherever I am and the ability to downsize our office due to not having so much paperwork and clutter to file.

Pros

eFileCabinet has allowed my business to become more organized, reduce the amount of paper files we have, reduce the amount of paper we print, and helped streamline our operations. The fact that we can easily scan, enter and organize documents has made record keeping a breeze. The ability to access those documents wherever I have access to a computer has already made my business way more money than the program costs. I know other programs out there are cheaper but the quality, service and organization you get with eFileCabinet is well worth the price. I wish I would have found this years ago.

Cons

Price is definitely my least favorite aspect of the software but as a business owner I know that you get what you pay for. The quality and level of organization my business now has is well worth the investment. Before eFileCabinet my business was unorganized and slow. Now we have actually downsized our office to save money while increasing our profits due to a more streamlined service.

We needed a solution to migrate the medical records created in our former legacy electronic medical records software to and eFileCabinet was the most cost-effective solution by far and when factoring in the generous non-profit discount it had no rival. During implementation, we had an excellent experience with eFileCabinet staff who did a great job working with the imported XML files containing metadata to be associated with each of the imported medical records to allow painless searching and printing by our Medical Records department. We have had two reviews/audits since the implementation where numerous records needed to be provided that were created in our legacy EMR software and each time we had no issues searching and printing the records for the review thanks to eFileCabinet. I found both phone and chat support helpful when needing assistance. I like the feature to control which user groups have rights to edit/delete documents which can be applied to specific types of documents or more globally. I also like being able to search and tag documents to allow printing multiple documents at once. The number one feature of eFileCabinet is the people associated with the product, which includes sales, implementation and support staff I have had the opportunity to work with!

Cons

We have not experienced any negatives with the software and for the things we need it for it has performed them adequately without issue.

Cons

When errors occur when using the software, it is often hard to determine what the problem is and how to fix it. You may need to call for support or look online for solutions. Many problems need for you to actually access your server which can be annoying.

What I like most about the software is to be able to separate the document types (word, spreadsheet, photo) into their own drawers.

Cons

What I like least about the software is the online training was long and boring and sometimes difficult to navigate.

Very Intuitive and Easy to use. The software is not hard to navigate and also offers a lot of options for sharing files.

Cons

The layout of the onlineformat makes it a little tedious to navigate when you have to go page by page.
