## Reviews summary

- Overall rating: 4.8/5
- Total reviews: 28,601

### Secondary ratings

- Ease of use: 4.7/5
- Customer support: 4.4/5
- Value for money: 4.7/5
- Functionality: 4.6/5

### Rating distribution

- 5 stars: 22,633 reviews (79%)
- 4 stars: 5,360 reviews (19%)
- 3 stars: 548 reviews (2%)
- 2 stars: 51 reviews (0%)
- 1 star: 9 reviews (0%)

### Most mentioned pros

- Real‑time syncing and integration with Google Workspace tools (Docs, Sheets, Slides) improve productivity and ensure everyone is working on the latest version of a file.
- I particularly value the seamless integration with other Google Workspace applications, which creates a smooth workflow for communication and content creation. Although there are some limitations related to storage and advanced permission management, the platform’s reliability, ease of use, and collaboration capabilities make it one of the best cloud storage solutions available today.
- The ability to securely store everything in one place and access it from any device has reduced our dependence on local computers and helped keep our operations running smoothly even when we are on-site or traveling between units.

### Most mentioned cons

- The only downside is the limited free storage. Since Google Drive shares space with Gmail and Google Photos, the storage fills up faster than expected, especially when storing lots of documents and family photos.
- The only con I have with Google drive is that often times files like excel for example are saved on the drive as Google sheets files and get duplicated.
- The cons include reliance on internet, potential privacy concerns due to Google's data model, shared storage limits, and occasional speed issues, requiring careful management of security and offline access needs.

Every project I start with Google Drive as the main storage point across our team makes it easier to share edits and ideas letting us reach our goals faster

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

Frees up a lot of data storage on local devices so more secure files have priority to be stored, which brings ease of use in collaboration with a work team that needs note taking and text editing for document management across the cloud. Great customer support to pick up everyone’s share of work and pick up where we left off. Great value for money since there is now a single pipeline to work from

#### Cons

The one thing that stood out to me was how I needed to go out of my way to find guides for new features, but once I did it was easy to use

#### Ratings breakdown

#### Pros

What I like most about Google Drive is the ease of use and that it can be gotten from any device across any device at any time.

#### Cons

What I like least about Google Drive is it kinda is confusing to use it first at least and it’s a bit time-consuming to find your files.

### Google Drive for Storing Photos

- Overall rating: 5/5
- Reviewer: Graham Brian H.

My overall experience is good. It is not overly expensive to buy additional storage space compared with OneDrive.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 3/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

It retains the folder structure from the source. You can buy more Tb of storage. It can be viewed as Google Photos in just date order, or access through the folder structure. Uploads are seamless. If you specify Google Drive as the upload then it matches the documents in the folder. If you specify upload by Google Photos it retains originals and every edit. I specify upload as Google Drive so that photos in folders match the source.

#### Cons

Google Photos option to upload keeps every edit meaning space is used up quicker. In comparison with OneDrive the options are more extensive but understanding how it uploads to the cloud is quite complex.

#### Reasons for choosing Google Drive

Cheaper and more administrator controls, price of additional storage is far better.

My overall experience was nothing but wonderful. It made my life as a teacher, affiliate marketer, and content creator more organized.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

There are many reasons why I like Google Drive. I've been using it for a long time to manage documents that are mostly related to personalized lesson planning for each of my students. It provides an easy way to save information I found on the internet and retrieve it later. On top of that, I would take notes from browsing some platforms/sites, put them on Google Docs, and edit them afterward in preparation for collaborations with my partners. I'm not worried about not having enough space because the storage is unbelievably massive, and I can easily get more if I want to since the prices are very reasonable and worth the purchase. One more thing that I haven't tried yet, since there was no reason to, is to contact customer support. BUT, be assured that it's right there and just one click away.

#### Cons

At the moment, I honestly can't think of anything negative about Google Drive. It has been very helpful for me all these years.

I've been using it for years and will continue to use it due to its ease, universal access with partners, and convenience. Google makes it easy to collaborate with others and access from anywhere which makes it a lot more appealing and inviting to use.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Customer support: 4/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

In my experience, Google Drive is very easy to use and learn how to navigate. They make it easy to store and organize your files, therefore making it easy to search for what you need. Google Drive also allows us to collaborate with our partners and lets them access content, making collaboration and content creation smoother.

#### Cons

One thing that I would change about Google Drive is the storage capacity for free users. It seems to run out of storage fairly quickly before charging a fee.

Overall, Google Drive has been the greatest tool for file creation, organization, sharing, collaboration, and general productivity. It's so helpful for keeping track of tasks, listing data, writing notes, and so much more.

#### Ratings breakdown

Google Drive is the perfect tool for organizing documents, spreadsheets, and other files. It also makes it easy to collaborate or share files.

#### Cons

I've found it somewhat difficult to find a what I'm looking for when using the mobile apps. You have to have the Drive app, along with the Docs app and Sheets app, etc. I could not find a document folder in the Docs app but I think I had to go to the Drive app to find it.

It's the only tool I've used to store my files in the cloud, for as long as I can remember. Beyond its downsides, like the time it takes to upload files, it's effective and a secure place to store important documents. I also use it to download personal files that I need to access on a virtual computer at work — this is especially useful since I don't have physical access to that computer.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

The tool integrates with your Gmail account, like many others available. It's easy to access and use. Its main function is to host all types of files in the cloud. It allows you to share files with other users, or keep them private for personal use only. It offers 15 GB of free storage, which I have to say isn't bad at all, considering that other apps offering the same service provide much less space in their free plans

#### Cons

The AI Pro plan seems a bit expensive to me in terms of monthly cost. It sometimes takes quite a while to upload files to Google Drive. It's not possible to edit files within the application

### Reliable Backbone for Document Management and Operational Workflows

- Overall rating: 5/5

Overall, Google Drive has been a core component of our digital infrastructure. It enables efficient collaboration, secure storage, and easy access to company data across multiple projects and teams. It works particularly well when combined with other tools to build automated workflows and document management systems. While it is not a full document management system on its own, it provides a very strong and reliable foundation for building scalable operational processes.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 4/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

Google Drive is extremely reliable and essential for managing company data and documents in a structured way. It integrates seamlessly with tools like Google Sheets, Forms, and third-party platforms, making it ideal for operational workflows. We use it to store site documents, delivery notes, invoices, and automated uploads from forms, which creates a clear audit trail and centralised access. The ability to control permissions, share files easily, and access everything from any device is a major advantage.

#### Cons

Managing large volumes of files and folders can become difficult without a well-defined structure. Search works well, but organisation still relies heavily on manual folder management. There is also limited native functionality for advanced document control, such as version enforcement or structured workflows, which sometimes requires external tools or internal processes.

#### Reasons for choosing Google Drive

Google Drive was chosen due to its seamless integration with the Google Workspace ecosystem, including Sheets, Docs, and Forms, which are already widely used within our operations. Compared to alternatives like Dropbox or OneDrive, it provides better collaboration features, real-time editing, and easier file sharing. It also offers a more intuitive interface and simplifies workflow automation when combined with other tools, making it more suitable for managing operational processes and documentation.

Google Drive's convenience and pricing cannot be beat. Whether you're a professional desktop user or you use Gmail personally on your phone, Drive is an essential tool for handling and backing up your documents.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 3/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

Google Drive is easily one of the cheapest and most convenient cloud storage options available. If you are a Gmail user, Drive cannot be any easier to use whether it be on mobile or desktop. Google's integration with Docs and Sheets makes editing documents and spreadsheets incredibly easy too. Drive is used daily with my company to collaborate and share important forms between departments.

#### Cons

Google is not shy about about lack of privacy with Gmail and drive. It isn't the most secure option. Their customer support won't even touch the subject. If security and privacy are your highest priority, you'd be better off created your own NAS storage.

#### Reasons for choosing Google Drive

Dropbox is expensive and requires extra steps to do what Drive does naturally.

#### Reasons for switching to Google Drive

OneDrive is irritating and breaks often with Windows Update. I do not recommend.

Overall very positive. No major concerns. In fact I was disappointed when we moved to Microsoft because of how easy Google Drive is.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 4/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

Very easy to use both professionally and personally. The fact that most of us have Google accounts means that when using this at work it makes it that much easier to use.

#### Cons

The only con I have with Google drive is that often times files like excel for example are saved on the drive as Google sheets files and get duplicated. So you end up with two files and don't know which one you worked on.

#### Reasons for choosing Google Drive

Price. It came down to the fact that it was much cheaper that others.

With all the design documents and files we work with during our design projects, it was more than a need rather a necessity to have a reliable cloud storage for keeping all these files secure and easy to access and Google Drive came out as the most qualified product for that work. With Google Drive, accessing and working with our design documents and files during design projects has become so easy and efficient for us which allows us to streamline our design operations. It also helps us to keep all design projects documentation well organized under one cloud storage folder which makes it easy to access them from anywhere and also recover them incase we loose them.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

Google Drive has been a very user-friendly tool for managing and storing our design digital files and documents and i like how it allows us to keep all our documents organized in their specific folders for easier and quicker access. Google Drive also provides our team with collaboration features which help us to have shared access on our documents making it easy to work together on the documents during our design projects. Google Drive offers very advanced security and data protection features which allows us to keep all our design documents and their data well protected from unauthorized access as well as cyber threats like malware. I also like the files recovery and back up features which makes it possible to recover any document we might loose but was already backed up on cloud.

#### Cons

We have not seen any negative aspects of Google Drive so far and it has been a smooth user experience using it to optimize our documents management and storage. There has been nothing about it to dislike about and its services has been satisfying.

Overall, Google Drive has become an essential part of our daily operations. We use it to centralize documents, share files internally and externally, collaborate on projects, and maintain access to important information across different devices. The real-time collaboration and Google Workspace integrations are particularly valuable for a growing team. It is reliable and easy to use, although maintaining a disciplined folder structure becomes increasingly important as the amount of data grows.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

The biggest advantage is how easy it makes storing, organizing, and sharing files across a team. Everything is accessible from anywhere, and the integration with Google Docs, Sheets, Gmail, and the rest of Google Workspace makes collaboration very efficient.

#### Cons

File organization can become messy as the number of users and shared folders grows. Without clear internal rules for folder structures, naming conventions, and permissions, it can become difficult to know where the most current version of a file is located.

I use Google Drive as my primary platform for storing all project documents and shared resources. While Google Drive excels in collaboration and ease of use, it isn't perfect. Advanced editing features still lag behind MS Office in some areas, large files can occasionally impact performance. Those handling complex document formatting may encounter occasional compatibility issues when working across different platforms. The overall experience is smooth, productive, and well worth for personal or small business use.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 4/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

Google Drive is a very dependable platform for both personal and professional use. It is free to use, you can upgrade storage space by paying (not too expensive either to get lots of storage space) but the free space given is enough for general use. It has cloud storage, document management, collaboration, and productivity tools into a single ecosystem. The interface is intuitive, making it easy to organize files, manage permissions, and quickly locate documents when needed. Realtime collaboration is one of its biggest strengths, allowing teams to work together efficiently without version control issues. Google Docs is also an effective tool for note-taking and text editing. It will automatically save for you, relatively frequently, and easy sharing. Data storage is reliable and scales well as needs grow. Customer support was fast for me and helped with my issues, explaining clearly.

#### Cons

Advanced formatting and editing features are not as robust as MS Office Suite. Managing larger complex folder structures and permissions can be cumbersome for larger groups/organizations. I find Google Drive to be good for personal use more or for small organizations. File compatibility with MS Office is a little lacking as formats can change sometimes.

Overall, I’ve had a great experience with Google Drive. It’s a super reliable and flexible platform that makes it easy to organize documents, share resources, and communicate with different schools and teams. It does take a bit of effort to keep everything organized, but it’s a must-have tool for keeping all the information centralized, secure, and easy to access.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 4/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

Google Drive is really great for keeping things organized and sharing info between teams. In a multi-school setup, it’s super handy for creating private folders for specific groups like school teams and PTAs, while ensuring the right people can easily access them. It’s perfect for storing and sharing SOPs, updates, and resources in a tidy, central spot. Plus, the ability to control who sees what and collaborate in real-time makes it really practical for both leaders and volunteers.

#### Cons

Managing permissions can get pretty confusing, especially when you're juggling multiple teams and folders. Access can quickly become all over the place if you’re not careful. Plus, things can get messy over time without a solid structure, and finding files isn’t always the easiest.

I have Google Pro because I need more storage space on Drive, and whenever I’ve had questions about which plan choose, the support team helped me a lot.

#### Cons

This is a trusted and efficient solution for handling and sharing HR related documents. It is especially useful for collaboration, but can be a bit cumbersome at times with large files or less tech-savvy users. It's worth it to our little business, despite it's occasional glitches. - Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

It has been extremely helpful in securing and organising our HR documents. Sharing files with members of our organization, including those outside of our organization, is a huge benefit. I love using it for drafting and editing policies and contracts live with collaborators. When looking for previous employee agreements or internal notices, its search function will help to save time.

#### Cons

The platform's functionality is solid, but at times becomes a bit clunky when handling larger files during upload, especially when training videos or other video assets are concerned. The interface itself is quite overwhelming at times and particularly for staff members who are not tech-savvy. Additional training would be beneficial to small businesses such as ours.

It has been excellent. I am much more organized keeping files digitally like this as opposed to trying to keep paper copies of everything.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

It provides a high level of organization--as much as I am willing to put in. It's easy to store files/documents and can store a lot.

#### Cons

Sometimes sharing documents and keeping track of document accessibility can be confusing. Marking files as restricted in a public folder, for example.

Overall, Google Drive is a powerful, convenient cloud storage and collaboration platform that works especially well if you are already invested in the Google ecosystem. Despite limits around storage, privacy controls, and offline use, its combination of accessibility, collaboration features, and integrations makes it a dependable everyday tool for both personal and professional work.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 1/5
- Functionality: 3/5

#### Pros

Google Drive makes it easy to store, organize, and access files from any device, with tight integration into Docs, Sheets, Slides, and the rest of Google Workspace that streamlines collaboration and real-time editing. The interface is straightforward to use, sharing and permission controls are simple, and the included 15 GB of free storage provides a solid starting point for most users and small teams. Syncing across desktop and mobile works reliably, so files stay up to date without much manual effort.

#### Cons

The shared 15 GB free storage fills up quickly once Gmail and Photos are in the mix, often forcing an upgrade sooner than expected. There are also ongoing privacy and security concerns, limited offline functionality in some browsers, and a lack of finer controls like password-protected share links, which can be frustrating for more sensitive or compliance-heavy use cases.
