# Google Workspace User Reviews

## Reviews summary

- Overall rating: 4.7/5
- Total reviews: 17,702

### Secondary ratings

- Ease of use: 4.6/5
- Customer support: 4.3/5
- Value for money: 4.6/5
- Functionality: 4.6/5

### Rating distribution

- 5 stars: 13,313 reviews (75%)
- 4 stars: 3,656 reviews (21%)
- 3 stars: 567 reviews (3%)
- 2 stars: 79 reviews (0%)
- 1 star: 86 reviews (0%)

### Most mentioned pros

- I’ve additionally coupled it with other Google software like Voice which allows me to text and call from my phone or web browser without exposing my personal information to clients.
- I like how seamlessly apps like Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Drive, and Meet work together, allowing teams to share files, edit documents in real time, and communicate efficiently.
- The seamless connection between its apps is one of its biggest strengths, and it is a great fit for teams that need flexibility and real-time collaboration. While there are some limitations for advanced use cases, it delivers strong value and usability for day-to-day work.

### Most mentioned cons

- Also, a couple of my employees are used to copying and pasting documents through their file explorer view, so they get annoyed sometimes when trying to make copies in a specific location or duplicating a file then having to move it because it feels more tedious to go through the drop-down menu and find a location for them.
- Customer support is the biggest gripe I've seen echoed everywhere online, and in my experience it's fair. When I had an issue with MX record configuration for a new domain early on, I spent nearly a week going in circles between contradictory help articles and an AI support bot that kept suggesting steps I'd already tried.
- Furthermore, while Sheets is excellent for day-to-day work, I find it quickly reaches its limits compared to Microsoft Excel when it comes to handling massive volumes of data or running extremely complex macros and financial calculations.

When we began our small business, one of the first things we needed was a business email with our url. We used Google Workspace and have never had to think twice about it! We can communicate with our customers in the most professional way. We also use it to work with our design clients to share files and drives when working on a big project. We use it for forms and surveys and it helps us to streamline our communication. We really count on Google Workspace to help run our behind and in front of scenes and it hasn't let us down yet.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

Google Workspace makes it possible for my small business to receive the professional features we need to grow our business and most of all help our customers. Easy to set up and implement, and the communication from Google's customer support keeps us on top of the latest developments. It comes with lots of cloud storage so you never have to worry about how you will share your files! For all it does it is a great value for the money.

#### Cons

While I do believe it is a great value for the money, it does seem to increase it's price every year. We are a small business so I don't feel we are as affected as larger businesses with more employees. However, the increases make sense as there are always more features scheduled for us to receive.

#### Reasons for choosing Google Workspace

Google Workspace is simple to use and set up. It's also at a great price point.

### Love my Google Workspace!

Overall, my experience with Google Workspace has been great. I love that all of the apps work together instead of acting like distant relatives who only see each other at Christmas. My Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Docs, Sheets, and Meet all connect in ways that make communication, scheduling, sharing files, and working together much easier. It has definitely helped us stay more organized and efficient, especially when several people are working on the same project. Google Drive can still become a little chaotic if everyone starts saving files wherever their heart leads them, and some of the permission settings can make you question your life choices. Even with those small frustrations, the benefits far outweigh the drawbacks, and Google Workspace has become something we rely on every day.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 4/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

What I like most about Google Workspace is how seamlessly all the apps work together, which makes daily work much more organized and efficient. I can easily schedule meetings, share documents, collaborate in real time, access files from anywhere, and keep communication connected without constantly switching between unrelated systems. My favorite part of Google Workspace is definitely the way that it automatically saves my work and stores it so that I can retrieve it from my phone, laptop or tablet while I am in and out of my office.

#### Cons

The biggest downside for me is that Google Drive can get messy fast if everyone is not using the same folder and file-naming system. Permissions and sharing settings can also be confusing, especially when several people are working on the same documents. Some of the admin settings are a little harder to find than they should be, and a few of the apps do not have all the advanced features that Microsoft Office has. Overall, I still love Google Workspace, but there are definitely a few areas that could be simpler and more user-friendly.

#### Reasons for switching to Google Workspace

Needed to have a space where documents can be edited in real time and the apps work together.

I love google workspace and have been using it more and more every day. I want to continue to learn the different aspects that you can do with the system.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

I like that google workspace is able to be viewed anywhere with it all online. It runs a lot like microsoft only easier.

#### Cons

It took some time to get used to not having to hit save before getting out of the file I was in. Its also hard to print I feel like for people who have used microsoft so much in the past. You use to go to file print and now there is just a print button that I tend to forget about.

#### Reasons for switching to Google Workspace

Google workspace has the ability to see it wherever you are and not just on one computer

My overall experience with Google Workspace feels connected, fast, and simple. It replaces fragmented tools, saving software versions, and file-lost-in-email chaos with a central digital office where teams can create, communicate, and deliver results together.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 4/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

Google Workspace has completely transformed how our team manages daily operations, communicates, and collaborates. Having Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Drive, Meet, and Calendar seamlessly connected in one cloud-based environment makes working together—whether in-office or remote—effortless.

#### Cons

Although Workspace offers offline modes for Docs, Sheets, and Slides, users frequently note that the offline experience feels clunky and requires prior setup via Chrome.

#### Reasons for switching to Google Workspace

We switched to Google Workspace when we reached a stage where email deliverability, team collaboration speed, software integrations, and employee familiarity outweighed the extra monthly cost.

I like that I can have all my google services in one place. I feel like it is easy to use and shift between documents and sheets. I like the storage option and affordable plans for storage. I like that I can access wherever I am.

#### Cons

I wish there was more advanced features in the google spreadsheet like Microsoft excel. There are a lot of basic good things but not as advanced. I wish the customer service was more responsive and had better answers.

#### Reasons for switching to Google Workspace

Ease of use. It is also cheaper overall and more storage options

Google Workspace has become one of the tools I rely on every day. It is easy to use, stable and makes collaboration much simpler, especially when several people need to work on the same files. Sharing documents, storing everything in the cloud and quickly searching through years of emails and files works extremely well. Considering how many tools are included and how well they integrate with each other, I also find the overall value for money very good.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 4/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

What I like most is how naturally all the tools work together. I can move between Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets and Meet without breaking my workflow. File sharing is especially easy, and managing access permissions takes only a few seconds. Cloud storage has also been very reliable for both personal files and collaborative work. The search functionality across Gmail and Drive saves me a lot of time when I need to find an old document or conversation.

#### Cons

There is very little that negatively affects my daily use. Occasionally, permission settings or file syncing can be slightly confusing when working with multiple Google accounts, and some features are placed deeper in the menus than I would expect. These are minor issues though, and I rarely experience bugs that actually interrupt my work.

### Finally switched from Microsoft — and I'm not going back

Two years in and I genuinely don't miss my old setup. Google Workspace has become completely invisible in the best way — it just works in the background and lets me focus on actual work. The collaboration tools are best-in-class, the reliability is rock solid, and the fact that I can open and edit a client's Word or Excel file directly without installing anything has saved me embarrassment more than once. If you're a small to mid-sized team that values working together in real time over heavy-duty offline desktop functionality, this is the suite for you. Just go in with realistic expectations about support and know that Sheets isn't Excel — but for most day-to-day work, you honestly won't care.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

Honestly I had my doubts when my company decided to switch from Microsoft 365 to Google Workspace two years ago. I had been using Outlook and Word for over 10 years so it felt like I was learning to write over again.. Within a month I totally got why so many teams are making this change. * The real-time collaboration feature is really the part. There was a time when three of us were working on the Google Doc during a call. Watching each others cursors move in time leaving comments and fixing them on the spot made me think this is what being productive feels like. No emailing "Final_v3_ACTUAL_FINAL.docx" back and forth. That alone saved us 4 to 5 hours each week as a team. Gmails search is also really good. I can find an email from a client from 18 months ago in under 10 seconds. I used to hate searching through Outlook folders for anything than a few weeks. The way Calendar, Meet and Gmail work is also seamless. It takes one click to join a meeting from the calendar invite, with no need to look around for links. Google Drives file sharing is easy. I set who can access it share a link. It just works. The version history on Docs and Sheets has saved me more, than once. I accidentally deleted a section of a report and was able to restore it from three hours earlier without stressing out. Using storage means I don't worry about which device I'm using. I've picked up a document I was writing on my phone during a commute and continued it on my laptop at my desk without saving or transferring the file. Google Workspace makes it easy to work from anywhere. I'm glad my company made the switch.

#### Cons

I'll be straight — it's not perfect. Google Sheets is great for 80% of what I do, but if you're doing serious financial modelling or need complex nested macros, you'll feel the ceiling pretty quickly. I still have to export certain reports to Excel for a few stakeholders who need advanced pivot functionality, which is a bit annoying. Customer support is the biggest gripe I've seen echoed everywhere online, and in my experience it's fair. When I had an issue with MX record configuration for a new domain early on, I spent nearly a week going in circles between contradictory help articles and an AI support bot that kept suggesting steps I'd already tried. Eventually a colleague who'd set it up before helped me sort it. A real human would have fixed it in 20 minutes. The pricing also adds up fast if you need more seats or storage. The Business Starter plan is reasonable, but jumping to Standard for the 2TB storage and better Meet features felt like a significant step up in cost for a small team. Google Drive organisation can get messy over time if you don't stay on top of it. Shared drives especially can turn into a bit of a junk drawer if your team isn't disciplined about folder structure.

#### Reasons for switching to Google Workspace

The constant back-and-forth of emailing file attachments, dealing with version conflicts, and managing software installations across machines made collaboration far more painful than it needed to be. Google Workspace offered everything in the browser with real-time collaboration built in from the ground up, which made the switch a straightforward decision for a team that needed to move faster.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5

#### Pros

The thing about Google is it is what everyone is used to. Many new hires are already familiar with Google's products.

#### Cons

Google's Admin Console is a little confusing to navigate at times, with some settings clearly coming from a different time period within Google. This is still much better than other competitors to Google Workspace.

#### Reasons for choosing Google Workspace

Chromebooks were also a large selling point for our business.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5

#### Pros

Google Workspace, especially in K-12, is leading the cloud based services market. Google Workspace is the sole reason we were financially able to implement a 1 to 1 policy for students.

#### Cons

The only downsides of Google Workspace would be the high costs and often thinks change without any prior approval.

#### Reasons for choosing Google Workspace

Google Workspace had all the necessary K-12 student-based application integrations that we required. Also, the management interface of Google is just so much better than Azure.

Overall, Google workspace is an outstanding tool that has significantly boosted our productivity. The ability to collaborate in world time and access files securely from anywhere heavily outweighs the minor issues with offline editing and scaling costs. It is a highly reliable platform that serves as the backbone of our daily Business operations

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 4/5
- Functionality: 3/5

#### Pros

The best part of Google workspace is the seamless real-time collaboration and integration. Multiple team members can edit documents, sheets, and presentation simultaneously without any lag, which makes the group work incredibly efficient. Additionally, having email, calendar, cloud storage, and video meeting fully connected in one platform saves a massive amount of time daily

#### Cons

What I dislike most is the offline functionality can be unstable and tedious to configure in advance if you suddenly lose our internet connection. Furthermore, the pricing tears can get quite expensive for growing small businesses, as they monthly per user cost sell up quickly when adding new team members

Overall, I have enjoyed my experience with Google Workspace due to it's ease of use, reliability, and cost. I often recommend my clients to consider working with Google Workspace if they are looking to change their file management, email, or scheduling systems.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 1/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

I really enjoy Google Workspace as I have been using it for over 10 years transitioning from a student to employee to business owner. I find the interface to be very clean and the native apps are easy to distinguish due to their colours and icons. Although I think it has improved, Google Workspace has felt significantly more smooth for operating in real-time multi-party collaboration, since I can easily see the edits, whereas Microsoft would often lag, glitch, or lead to saving errors. I like how simple it is to manage my file storage, and share files according to access levels or even to external parties/non-google users. The native Google apps are very easy to use and regularly have walk-through tips when a new feature is added, or I can easily find updated documentation in the Help section. The last thing I enjoy is how much Google has prioritized third-party integrations to streamline workflows and elevate systems. It's so easy to integrate with third-party apps and most platforms now have free or low cost integrations with Google, unlike some of it's competitors. Overall, I think the price is higher than some of it's competitors but the ease of use and functionality justify the cost.

#### Cons

I have never been able to receive customer support for a google workspace issue, but since there are usually online threads I can find, this hasn't been a huge issue. The AI used to be quite helpful with basic tasks, but now that there is a push for AI I find I am receiving more AI recommendations that are not helpful or the email content is just hallucinating so I have to spend time redoing things myself. Also, a couple of my employees are used to copying and pasting documents through their file explorer view, so they get annoyed sometimes when trying to make copies in a specific location or duplicating a file then having to move it because it feels more tedious to go through the drop-down menu and find a location for them.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 4/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

Google workspace is one of the best application I have used so far for both professional and personal work. I love that how easy it makes to use everything in one place all together as switching between everyday tools like Gmail or Docs and many other is easy and smooth. Features like file sharing allows to share files quickly and with the coworkers or the team also provides the control over comments, edits or views by them. Cloud Storage is also a very useful feature by Google workspace which provides access to the files from different linked devices which helps working anywhere anytime. It also offers schedule management which makes scheduling meetings or appointments in no time.

#### Cons

The thing I dislike is value for me, as being a small business owner I feel it is bit overpriced for the users like me as small teams use few features only but pay for all. Also it's customer support is a big disappoint as it fails providing useful assistance when required especially for complex issues. I have also experienced minor bugs and issues occasionally in syncing.

#### Pros

What I like most about Google Workspace is how easy it is to collaborate and access everything in one place. Tools like Gmail, Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, and Meet work smoothly together, making it simple to share files, edit documents in real time, and communicate with the team. It saves time and makes day-to-day work more organized.

#### Cons

One thing I like least about Google Workspace is that some features can feel limited compared with more advanced desktop applications. Large or complex files in Google Sheets can also become slower, and managing permissions across many shared files can sometimes be confusing.

Overall, my experience with Google Workspace was really positive. I found it easy to use, reliable, and helpful for keeping work organised. The way everything links together across email, calendars, documents, meetings, and file sharing made day to day tasks much more efficient. I especially liked how simple collaboration was. Being able to work on documents with other people in real time, leave comments, and access files from anywhere made communication and teamwork much smoother. It also helped reduce delays and kept everyone working from the same version of a document. There were a few small frustrations at times, such as internet reliance and some limitations compared to traditional desktop software, but overall the benefits outweighed the negatives. It felt modern, practical, and well suited to fast paced working environments.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 3/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

What I liked most about Google Workspace was how easy it made everything feel. Everything connected properly, so I was not constantly switching between different systems or trying to find information. Being able to move from emails to calendars, documents, meetings, and shared files all in one place made day to day work much smoother and less stressful. I also liked how simple it was to collaborate with other people. Working on documents at the same time, leaving comments, and seeing updates instantly saved a lot of back and forth and helped things move quicker. It felt much more practical and user friendly compared to systems where everything feels disconnected.

#### Cons

One of the things I liked least about Google Workspace was that it can sometimes feel too dependent on having a good internet connection. If the connection was slow or unstable, it could affect access to files or cause delays when working collaboratively. I also found that some features were not always as advanced as desktop based Microsoft Office tools, especially for more detailed formatting or complex spreadsheets. While it is very easy to use overall, there were times where certain settings or permissions could be confusing, particularly when sharing files across different teams or external users.

Overall, I’ve been very happy with Google Workspace. It covers a lot of day-to-day needs in one platform and has made collaboration much easier for me. Even though there are a few small issues here and there, it’s still a tool I use regularly and would recommend to other teams looking for a reliable cloud-based solution.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 4/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

What I like most is how easy it is to collaborate in real time. Being able to work on Docs, Sheets, or Slides with other people at the same time is a huge help and saves a lot of back and forth. I also like how well Gmail, Drive, Calendar, Meet, and Chat all work together. It feels like everything is built to support the same workflow. File storage and sharing are also very convenient, and I like that I can access things from different devices without much hassle.

#### Cons

The main downside is that it can sometimes be a little slow, especially with larger files or when syncing takes longer than expected. It’s not a major issue, but it does happen once in a while. Another thing is that sharing settings and permissions in Drive can get confusing, especially for people who are not very tech-savvy, so that part could be a little more straightforward.
