OU Campus helps us manage our entire .edu site
We chose the OU Campus system because it was super flexible. It allows us to do a lot of different things within the system and to really push the boundaries of what a CMS can do. We have more than 100 active users on our campus using the system, and all content review and publishing is centralized through our team. OU Campus makes this possible.
Pros
OU Campus is built for colleges and universities. We love that the software and company understand higher education and our unique needs. OU Campus gives us a great tool with a lot of flexibility to gear it toward our specific use case. OU Campus has a great and quick support team in place to help us anytime we have a question or need some help.
Cons
Just like any software, there are small things that can always be improved. However, we've found OU Campus and OmniUupdate to be a great partner who really listens to their customers needs and they regularly implement features that are requested in their Feedback Forum. They push out new releases very regularly and we never notice any bugs.
Reasons for choosing Omni CMS
Their robust implementation and support offerings and teams.
Reasons for switching to Omni CMS
We needed an enterprise level CMS with a strong support team.

OU Campus is the right choice!
SLU has made the right choice with OU Campus. We hit the ground running after implementation and have been a satisfied customer for six years. System is solid and reliable, and support is prompt and helpful. Would choose OU Campus again, given the choice.
Pros
Ease of use for both end users, administrators and developers. Speedy publishing with built in link check, spell check and ADA compliance allow robust Quality Assurance for our website.
Cons
Built in form tools are good but simple, but not as advanced as some external services. However, Formstack is offered as an add on service.
Reasons for choosing Omni CMS
Ultimately, once we decided to make a change from our previous CMS, OU Campus offered a user friendly experience for end users and robust tools for management and development for administrators and developers. Deployment of a modern, responsive framework was simple and new development can be added easily. Publishing of the system was quick and painless.
Reasons for switching to Omni CMS
Several years ago, we made the painful choice to rebuild the [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] website from the ground up and selecting a new CMS helped energize the process. Administrators were happy with the old system but changing CMS allowed an opportunity to establish a new web governance and content strategy with the CMS community.

Very User Friendly
Pros
This product is extremely user friendly. I'm responsible for training many of our users in OUCampus and I find that most users adapt fairly quickly once getting into the system. The interface is easy to understand and there are plenty of features to customize pages.
Cons
Sometimes formatting/features don't work quite as anticipated which can seem unsolvable for an average user. It would also be nice to have more flexibility in permission user levels as there's almost an all or nothing approach to a certain extent.

Excellent Product
We've been using the product for ten years now and it has been under constant improvement and targets the needs of the higher education industry very well. The support is better than almost all tech-based companies that I've ever had to deal with. There are a number of add-ons and services that enhance the product as well.
Pros
Overall, the ease-of-use from all viewpoints. Omni CMS is very easy to use for our end-users. It allows us the granularity in control to make sure that users can edit the content they need to. We can easily make sure that changes are monitored to maintain consistency of voice across the site. Administration of the site is kept as intuitive as possible as well.
Cons
Templates can be difficult to generate from scratch without some in-depth xml and xslt training.
Reasons for choosing Omni CMS
Omni CMS was the easiest for users to adapt to. It gave us the perfect balance of control over the site and allowing end-user editing that we needed.

Perfect fit for your Higher Ed needs
From set up, to training, to customer service and roll-out of new products, the team from Omni are there every step of the way.
Pros
We have 18 different college websites that we manage through OmniCMS and I was on the RFP team that chose the product, I've been a daily user, and now I oversee strategy and operations, and I can say without a doubt that our websites wouldn't be as successful as they are without OmniCMS. From set up, to training, to customer service and roll out of new products, the team from Omni are there every step of the way.
Cons
We're a little different than most systems, so we need some special features that Omni doesn't currently offer. But...the Omni team is working to get us those features, so they're making lemonade out of lemons!
Reasons for switching to Omni CMS
Sitecore was out of date and hard for our non-developer content editors to use. Plus, it was WAY too much money.
