Management friendly

Tried the estimation feature too in terms of pricing and got great results, very efficient in that way.

PROS

Integration with other fields such as accounting helps save time, there is also an audit trail when asked by management and tracking any kinds of activity is easier with the product.

CONS

Needs to adapt customisation for spesific users as it is not that easy and mastering the software to get the most of it might take time.

Clariti choice for OC

Using an enterprise web based solution vs various stand alone systems; our implementation eliminated/combine over 15 plus disjointed systems in one enterprise solution that included business functions and integrated the several service areas of OCPW involved in the entitlement and permitting process, such as OC Survey (map checking/subdivision services), OC Infrastructure (Roads, Traffic, Flood), and Environmental Resources, Agriculture Commissioner. Additional enhanced efficiencies associated with LMS include electronic plan check reviews and mobile inspection, interface with OC Survey Land Information System/GIS, robust reporting/dashboard features that provide operational and management-level reporting for the purposes of monitoring and managing customer satisfaction, work and staffing levels, and finances. Our customers (applicants, developers, citizens etc.) have the ability to easily submit and track the status of project reviews, various clearances and approvals, requests and scheduled inspections and overall customer information inquires as well as ability to process payment transactions online (including invoices). A lesson learned was that we should have ensured that a Clariti representative/team member work along side us throughout the development/implementation/deployment. Plus is that we now have a monthly customer service call with open communication, collaboration, ongoing customer service/ client support which is gives Clariti an excellent rating.

PROS

The ability to operate our entire Development Services business and customer service with in a cloud based environment and have all of our services available to the public via an online portal. This was extremely important during COVID pandemic when our public counter/offices were closed we were able to operate without any interruption of services for all of our planning, entitlements, land development, permitting, plancheck, inspection and code enforcement services. This implementation provided our clients with a streamlined, transparent process including online and mobile devices access. Our customers (applicants, developers, citizens etc.) are able to easily submit and track the status of project reviews, various clearances and approvals, requests and scheduled inspections and overall customer information inquires, and record research request. The customer also have the ability to process payment transactions via the online portal. Additionally, Clariti's ongoing support, client customer service, collaboration and open communication is excellent and that is also one of major pros that we like about choosing the Clariti software solution.

CONS

The accounting/cashiering limitation that are part of the standard package; We have developed several custom components/packages with the assistance of our County OCIT team to accommodate our various payment options - developer trust accounts, deposits for T&M permits, Fee/valuation based permits, invoicing; Limitations on number of items in online cart for processing payments; basic package solution didn't meet some of our existing business requirements (packages, bulk processing, mass editing) which resulted in additional customizations.

Great on paper

While this tool looks great on paper and there is definitely some custom coding that is the cause of some of our headaches, it seems as though this tool was not a good fit for us. Especially when we look into sustainability without the work of a vendor or using our very limited customer service hours. As a government entity, the price of this tool is also not economical in our long term goals considering things like the feature base, customer service hours, and functionality experience thus far.

PROS

The idea that there was a 'plug and enhance' tool that provided a certain functionality that we needed for our operations (applications, permits, etc.) was great. The time needed to build out objects was replaced with more time to build out and/or refine business processes.

CONS

The training was rough and difficult to follow. It was disheartening to hear that we could go through the training and not know everything we need to and that was said from the company itself. Licensing is financially cumbersome compared to the price of Salesforce licensing itself. With the price of licensing, it was also disheartening to know that our customer service hours were extremely limited. Specifically, the payment piece (i.e. cart, payment, fee payment, etc.) is notably confusing in terms of configuration and, to me, seemed like way too many records being created for one payment.

We were sold on the idea that we could save project time by not having to build out a number of objects and processes because this tool did that for us for the most part.

Going Online

My overall experience I would give it a 7 out of 10. It is very progressive cloud base system and it was a easy transition from our old system.

PROS

I like the interface and ease of learning the system. The system is user friendly and does not take a rocket scientist to learn it. or train others.

CONS

The customer support was limited at times because we are on a different time zone. I also would have like to have more onsite training and visits from the company for them to fully understand our operational process. I also did not like that we are not provided any training guides once the product is built.

Bought the City of Hampton template and it was inexpensive compared competitors.

Clariti

Professional and caring staff, ready to help. The product means our needs and is user friendly.

PROS

IT is used daily by our permitting department and Neighborhood Codes Enforcement division. During the time of COVID, being able to offer permitting on-line to our citizens was a bonus for contractors and citizens. Now other departments in our City are considering the on-line functions that Clariti offers. The technical support staff is knowledgeable and responsive.

CONS

Integration was challenging but the team worked with us until the mission was accomplished.

This software allows for virtually limitless possibilities with regards to permitting, working online, documentation, preparing letters, entering comments, pricing and fees, ease of change and corrections etc.

CONS

Sometimes there are a few hickups, however they are usually addressed in a timely manner
