Pros/Cons
  • Pros

  • The Support team are also absolutely fantastic and really help answer any questions that I may have - they are such a great asset.
  • Simul8 clearly recruits great talent, both on a personal and professional level. Overall - Simul8 has been great to do business with and well worth the investment.
  • Great tool and very powerful. Like everything there is a learning curve, but you can get good results very quickly and as your learning progresses, you can build even more insightful models.
  • Cons

  • Another limitation is that sometimes while using this software, operator travel link becomes corrupt creating difficulty for the users.
  • Struggle to find answers to my particular visual logic problems online - always require customer support.
  • The VL interface is also quite frustrating as compared to normal programming languages. Finding commands is difficult, and the use of the interface is not intuitive.

  • Pros

  • The interface is aesthetically pleasing and intuitive. The ability to add hierarchical cells is a big advantage and allows to format notebook in a beautiful way.
  • Analytical solving is a breeze with this and it is intuitive how it all appears, as if you wrote it on a sheet of paper. That is its best feature.
  • Except for the price, I really enjoy Mathematica, it really helps me do math better.
  • Cons

  • Often Mathematica code won't run for entirely unexplained reasons. The program is often unintuitive and aggravating, and for a program touting its usability, this is unacceptable.
  • Its difficult to understand the typos or mistakes, as the displayed error message is not easy to understand. There is a learning curve associated with the use of Mathematica.
  • I dislike how the tutorials are not very well organized.
