Engagement Communities review
I like the data security, accessibility, and how user-friendly this software is. As someone who works in the nonprofit sector and is accustomed to wearing several hats, I appreciate how much support I received in customizing a platform to meet our organization's unique needs.
CONSThe population we are serving provides basic-need instability at a high rate and that limits their access to wireless internet connection. Due to this digital inclusion barrier, this may make it more difficult for some of our caregivers to utilize on a regular basis compared to families that have internet access.

Engagement Communities - Helping us get to where we want to be
I am the General Secretariat for Workability International (WI), a London-based nonprofit made of up membership organizations around the world. Our board of directors is made up of 15 CEO's (from 9 different countries) of organizations with similar missions of putting people with disabilities to work. As you can imagine, maintaining a social media presence is of utmost importance for us! Getting started with MissionBox was so much easier than what I had endured trying to learn how to program a website software that was outdated! Not to mention that I can connect with a MissionBox Customer Service person so quickly.
CONSThere is a slow ramp up of our members using the platform for interaction... we are constantly working to increase this and Engagement Communities has support us all along the way.
Reasons for switching to Engagement Communities
We jumped at the chance to work with MissionBox because we felt that they were able to take us to the next level. Simply updating a website wasn't getting the job for us anymore - we needed a more collaborative approach - and Missionbox has delivered! Our members are able to use our site to connect with one another and share their experiences, ask specific questions to another member organization from the other side of the world, and really use our site as a main resource.

Good platform for national network and still developing...
I am currently neutral on this platform. It has some great benefits and it needs to continue improvements to the enhance the user experience so others will find it beneficial and easy to get what they want from it.
PROSA common platform for our national network to read updates and hopefully get to network with each other
CONSThe interaction for network partners feels clunky - too many key-strokes to get to what we want.

Hard to not engage with Engagement Communities!
We have been able to turn the nonprofit services that my client offers into a robust, person-centered model of delivery for clients to navigate their dreams, goals and lives both independently and with confidence.
PROSThe software is simple to use and has allowed my client to completely customize its design because of its flexibility. What's even better than the software are the people who created it! Mission Box has a very thoughtful, well organized and productive team!
CONSI do not have any to speak of at this time.
Reason for choosing Engagement Communities
Engagement Communities is flexible, optimal, and can be right-sized for any organization to use. Its web-based application allows for clients to access their information in a timely manner through their cellphones.

Engagement Communities
We have a large network of nonprofit partners with which we communicate regularly. We also have segments of that network that require specific information that is not relevant to the larger network. Engagement Communities allows us to create groups that target each segment when needed as well as communicate with the larger network. We're finding it very useful for this purpose.
PROS-The implementation team was very supportive and responsive. They helped me design more user friendly and visually appealing sites -It's easy to add content in general, and it's easy to apply that content to multiple groups. This minimizes duplication of effort and helps us communicate with multiple audiences easily. -It's great to have so many tools in one place (event scheduling, document storage and distribution, embedded YouTube videos, etc).
CONSOverall, it's great and I don't have major complaints. There are some modest limitations to user control of content layout. This isn't necessarily problematic in the grand scheme, but it can mean users might have to go through a few iterations of their design to make it work in a way that's desirable.

Perfect tool for Stakeholder and Collaborative Group Management-- no more email!
Solving the problem of overburdened email communication for large user groups (who received what, etc). Built-in opt-in, i.e. users come to their communities to find the information they need to further their collaborative mission.
PROSCentralized communication and shared resources to manage board members, nonprofit stakeholders, affinity groups, or any collaborative work group that your organization can customize to build. No more questions about where are the meeting minutes---easy to track conversation threads in one place around any kind of file, document, photo, video, link, etc!
CONSEarly UI issues, but those were quickly improved in first revision.
