Pros/Cons
  • Pros

  • A whole lot of great finds to fit every budget. Great when you are looking for something to help in a pinch.
  • My only and “first” code versioning program ever. I really recommend it over any other solution out there, the features are top and the repositories and GUI just look so professional and awesome.
  • It is one of the best and rapid solution to share code in team and preserve it. It provides all the options to pull and push a code and it is best in terms of commits.
  • Cons

  • There are some features missing or not implemented properly in Gitlab + the lack of funding makes it ver hard to expand on Gitlab and use it full time.
  • Little tough to integrate from command prompt on windows or mac. I can't find any other defects or bugs in this software.
  • I would say that it is not easy to upgrade or migrate to a new server. If any function fails, the rest usually fail.

  • Pros

  • The concept is outstanding. Being able to record runtime state in production for post-mortem debugging is utterly amazing.
  • Overops (formerly Takipi) is a great tool that has been a fantastic asset to our debugging capabilities.
  • Great experience overall, great customer service when we had doubts about the product. The software does what it says it does and really helps to make the CD easier.
  • Cons

  • It would fail to notify about most errors, and routinely report errors we had attempted to filter out. This persisted despite numerous sessions with app engineers.
  • Sometimes it's hard to find the exact "problem" even with a link provided in the log. And I see some lags when we browse events by selecting date/time range and servers.
  • Our Admin complains that it is not convenient to set system wide 'overrides', that is, exception types to ignore. It can be done, but multiple times, and apparently needs to be reset.
