Pros/Cons
  • Pros

  • It's nice to track my overall equity and individual grants. The best feature is the ability to simply forecast overall share allotments across varying vesting schedules.
  • Very seamless and straightforward. Positive experience for end users, and helps feel like the equity system is more legitimate within our company.
  • Love this to track options, RSUs and shares. Support is also helpful and does its best to answer questions.
  • Cons

  • Carta did not have any alerts system, and did not notify affected employees for a month. Some employees were left tens of thousands of dollars worse off than had the error not occurred.
  • Carta is awful, bottom line. We cancelled our account on November 6th, 2022 but they went ahead and charged us nearly $5k on December 18th.
  • The commissions on sales are a bit over the norm for a retail brokerage-type program. Especially bad if you have small lot sizes.

  • Pros

  • If you run a small business or are self-employed, this is great to have. If you're like me and not great with spreadsheets, then this is what you need.
  • I benefited from him and gained some experiences from him in my field and I liked it in ease of work reports.
  • I would recommend it for those who want a simple and effective way to keep records clean and send invoices to clients. Customer support is amazing.
  • Cons

  • Reconciling is miserable. I could go on and on, but I hate to relive the QB years where I felt inept and incapable of running the backside of our business.
  • The only problem with Virtual programs is the internet delays and the problems with making sure you can sync everything if two people have been working on it.
  • I HATE that I cannot simply download my QBO data into TurboTax. It makes no sense at all that I can't download Intuit data to another Intuit product.
