Limited explanation of functions, a lot you learn by trial by error.

The estimating component is out there for me to learn. Other than a few frustrations with my lack of experience and the way I do thing vs the way the industry does them.

I use other programs/cost books to compile pricing, labor minimums and depreciation. Over all I am very satisfied with Active Takeoff.

AT is a quick and efficient way to take info out of plans and other images, and best of all to document the source of the take off information.

The ease of importing plans from .pdf into the software is extremely intuitive. Active Takeoff allows a user to QUICKLY begin the process of plan takeoff.

It doesn't have customizable features for flooring. It is hard to measure for trim and/or base because there isn't an applicable extension.

InSite is a valuable tool that we use to calculate earthwork takeoffs with for every project that we work on. It is fairly user friendly and the customer service and support team are top notch.

Fill material is a little difficult to decipher. If we are allowed to add a percentage for expansion and compaction on the other line items for the report.

I love this program like i said way more user friendly for someone who is not computer literate.

Plenty of classes to help with advanced concepts. Compared to Tekla or others this does the same and is much more cost friendly.

Importing CAD files for takeoffs can sometimes be slow. Entering boring logs is not the easiest function.

D Live as it helps you find mistakes in your entered grades. Additionally, the reports which you can generate help in making accurate cost estimates.

When pages have different scales, it is difficult to align the pages to match the scale needed.

The cost of InSite along with the benefits and ease of use it what lead us to purchase the software.

There is nothing that stands out that has me dislike this software.

Overall I really like the program. I would recommend it to anyone.

It was fairly easy for our more IS Savy employees to integrate InSite with our other systems. It now appears we can eliminate some other programs and integrate them with ainSite.
