Build Book is helping us to stay organized so everyone has access to the information they need at the time they need it.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

Build Book works great and we've already seen it help our business in keeping us on task so that the most important things get done on time and not fall through the cracks. I like Build Book's pricing and ease of use most of all.

#### Cons

I wish there was employee time tracking and a way for customers to pay through Build Book. That would help a lot in making double entries in both Build Book and Quick Books. I know there will always be some double entry, but this would eliminate over half of it.

#### Reasons for choosing BuildBook

Its actually designed for builders and not service call companies.

#### Reasons for choosing BuildBook

Cost, ease of use

#### Reasons for switching to BuildBook

Procore is too robust for my projects and was cumbersome to customers.

### Great product, works great, easy to navigate- almost too simple.

I met the [sensitive content hidden] of Buildbook at IBS and was very impressed with him and with the program he helped create. Overall very positive. Customer service is great and it works!

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

I love the ease of use for my employees and clients. Very positive feedback from clients, employees and my office manager. They can navigate the program much easier than CoCon/Buildbook. This is huge, I was getting negative feedback from clients about CoCon's complexity. Buildbook is very very simple to navigate and the app works great, very easy to see what we need.

#### Cons

On the back end, I would love just more customization, options, and abilities to see more information. Seeing job profitability and syncing w/ Quickbooks to see actuals vs. quoted would be helpful. We don't have time or capacity to enter each line item cost so we are missing that information. It just almost seems too simple and not enough complexity on the back end. I want more options w/ quotes and w/ the Gannt chart creation. Having pictures and files transfer from "opportunity" to "projects" would be very very helpful! Please make this change! I'm concerned if Buildbook will be able to grow with my business. As I grow my business I want to be sure Buildbook grows with us and brings more functionality to the back end. Don't change the client facing side, just the backend!

#### Reasons for choosing BuildBook

Money, Buildbook was a much more affordable option and I liked the user friendly side for the clients and employees. I'm just concerned that I will regret this in a few years as we continue to grow. Like I mentioned earlier, I want Buildbook to continue to grow and add features as they grow! Obviously Builder Trend is the best of the best but with that comes a much higher monthly cost. Please keep getting better, even if you have to increase the pricing, I would rather pay a little more, have more features then to have to change management systems again.

#### Reasons for switching to BuildBook

CoConstruct got bought out by Builder Trend and I found out at IBS that Builder Trend wasn't going to invest any more money into CoConstruct. What CoConstruct is today is what it will be 10 yrs from now. They were pushing people to switch over to Builder Trend, as a small construction company, I couldn't afford to make that switch.

Client management has been better with BuildBook, for those who choose to use it.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

It's easy to use if you're new to using construction software and don't want to spend a lot of money on an alternative like Buildertrend.

#### Cons

It's newer so there are still some features that I'd like to be included like Quickbooks integration.

#### Reasons for choosing BuildBook

I thought the ease of use and the price were better than the alternatives. Pricing is based solely on the number of users so they don't remove features if you choose to go up or down a tier.

### Great Market Fit, But Need to Counter-Balance Cost-Plus Construction

I enjoy it as a tool for promoting a greater customer experience. I don't know how much I would say that it helps me run my construction business at this point.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 3/5

#### Pros

The market distinctive for my business is this software and my design process. This program achieves my goal of promoting high-level visibility between me and the client while allowing me to have a project management system that is efficient and clean.

#### Cons

As mentioned before, the product feels like it's been built so heavily around the customer experience that it's weak on the project execution features. More specifically the financial management and scheduling side of the project. In regards to the former, the financial management system is almost entirely communicative. But it doesn't actually serve me in any significant ways of managing my financials. The scheduling system is clunky. I don't know if this is a feature but I hope that you guys will allow for a microsoft project integration as I will have to explore other products to schedule construction as Buildbook's system takes way too long.

#### Reasons for switching to BuildBook

Cost. Trying to match software useage/cost with current operational level. Business neither complex nor large enough to warrant expensive (and perhaps more comprehensive) systems.

They have a great team that is very responsive, and keeps their customers updated with upcoming upgrades to the system. Customer service is great, and they made the transition easy.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

I love how simple this software is to use, and how well is works alongside our current processes. It's clean and easy to use for both our team and clients, and does not have all of the clutter and clunkiness that larger softwares have. It allows us to have a central hub for all project-related communications, in a clean, minimal interface.

#### Cons

Scheduling could be improved a bit, and I'm confident that it will be sooner than later based on the recent updates and communications stating the upcoming upgrades that are rolling out in the coming months. Bid & PO Management is also missing, so looking forward for that to come through.

#### Reasons for switching to BuildBook

We went from Asana for Task Management, to Co-Construct for financial and scheduling, then to Buildertrend for improved Scheduling. All systems left much to be desired, and the BuilderTrend offered lots of features that simply didn't work for us due to its lack of a tax integration. The QBO integration didn't work for us, and neither did their system of manually uploading expenses into the software, which we already have automated with other softwares. Ultimately, we ended up paying a premium for a software that we only used 25% of the features for, so we reevaluated and decided to make a switch to a more simple, cost-effective software in BuildBook that has all the right tools, and nothing more. We appreciate BuildBook's minimal, clutter-free design and easy navigation.

### An intuitive well thought out program with just the right amount of bells and whistles.

This program was so easy to work with right off. Very low learning curve. It just makes sense compared to the convoluted high end competition and the overly simplified low end competition. It's very logical.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

The ease of use and the rapid fire response if I ask for help with something. The support team is outstanding.

#### Cons

I wish it had a financial summary across projects but I understand they are working on it. And I wish it had a direct way to split up estimates into sections without having to work it out through cost codes.

#### Reasons for choosing BuildBook

It fit our needs so well. Our critical focus was on change order communication/tracking, estimating, and communication overall. But again it was the ease of use that really made it work for us.

#### Reasons for switching to BuildBook

Contractor Foreman was too cumbersome and complex and we could not invoice the way we needed too. Estimating took forever. Joist is so basic, I don't think it's been updated in years. The inability effectively work with cost codes (thousands of duplicates) made it ineffective at streamlining.

The best part of Buildbook though is their incredibly helpful their customer service. They walk through any and every issue and address it promptly and they are always there to help!

#### Ratings breakdown

#### Pros

the open communication between the office, field and customer is awesome! less critical issues missed with this and great for field to go back in and find what they need to know. just wish we had workers more open to using build book. Its hard to get older people to try new things and learn new things.

#### Cons

No summary page for the total expenses. this makes the build process easy to watch and see where they are over allowance and under as the project moves forward. that way they are not "blind sided" at the end of the build with a huge overage on allowances.

#### Reasons for choosing BuildBook

Great product for communication between owner, manager, employees, clients, and subcontractors!

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

We use this tool primarily to track job progress internally as well as with clientele. We use this software daily, whether it is creating task lists to be completed or post pictures and captions, and we love that we are able to post these progress updates to enhance internal scheduling as well as keep the client updated throughout the process. That being said, the communication capability with all parties is what we love most!

#### Cons

The to-do lists and tasks seem difficult to create, and I wasn’t aware of several other features prior to taking this questionnaire. Perhaps a tutorial or help guide would be useful in lieu of the chat option. Also, previously I had issues uploading multiple pictures and getting posts to create/post, but that seems to have been improved in the most recent update.

I've researched Buildbook since they started out with a different company. With the company that I've been with for the last 2+ years we worked with 4-5 different types of software which was cumbersome and not efficient. not to mention having no access to a specific software if they had a bug. With Buildbook we have everything we need within reach in the office or on location. The chat feature to be able to talk with the team as well as with the clients and to document things is a nice huge feature.

We've loved having something to keep us organized, keep our subcontractors in the loop, and keep our clients happy. They know the schedule, what is expected of them, and when they need to have decisions done. That has helped me be able to spend my time working on other things instead of putting out fires all day!

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5

#### Pros

Pros: -All in one place -Keeps communication confusion at a minimum because it keeps things streamlined -Provides a great view of the entire build process -Love the ease of keeping track of things...even helps me as the builder see things as the big picture and help break it down for customers. -I love the notifications that have been added

#### Cons

It's pretty user friendly but I needed to work through all the different aspects of it to see how we could utilize it best. The chat feature is great, but sometimes doesn't work. The scrolling doesn't work the best on the app version and sometimes the selections section is cery slow to add and save information. Fixes seem to make things better and better though!

Mostly positive.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5

- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

Mostly easy to use. Clean look and design. Like the client portfolio.

#### Cons

Limited on image uploads. No image gallery or thumbnails. All subs "collaborators" are notified of the daily logs. No place for collaborators and clients to have a discussion. The scheduler needs work - after every new entry entire schedule moves to the top and if the phases are closed they open back up the entire schedule with all the tasks under the phases. It is a constant open and close and very inefficient user experience.

#### Reasons for choosing BuildBook

Appeared to fit the needs we currently have and appears that as a young company BuildBook is looking to continue to enhance the product.

#### Reasons for switching to BuildBook

Too many unused features for the cost

#### Pros

It's like having a mobile electronic filing cabinet for each project. Everything I need is right on my cellphone in the app, from punch lists to the homeowner's paint color choices. It makes things so much more organized and thorough. My favorite feature is that the app allows me to tag and search through multiple posts to find what I am looking for. Before, I had to run searches through my thousands of emails and weed out which ones were for this job/client. I have just started using the new portfolio feature, which has allowed me to organized daily photos into "collections" then I can choose the best ones to transfer over to my portfolio. So far, I am a fan and would highly recommend giving this software a try.

#### Cons

It's difficult to get others in the habit of using it. Even subcontractors.

#### Reasons for choosing BuildBook

It solves different problems than the competition and BuildBook focused on what mattered to me. I'm not looking to run my entire business from one piece of software. Also, the other choices had too many features, which for me, makes it hard to understand and use. I am looking to simplify and streamline with systems that promote quality and efficiency in my business, and BuildBook offered this. Also cost, after doing some research there was a greater value for the money.

We’ve loved everything from our experience talking with the guys about what it could do, before we even bought it, to implementing it with our clients, getting certain subs on board with it, and knowing we’ve got a great support team behind the product as well. It’s absolutely been a life saver on this latest remodel, and I’m not sure how we did the previous ones without it?!

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

This makes communicating with our clients SO MUCH EASIER! We love love that everything is in one place, documented, with easy access to conversations, pictures, videos, any needed info we put in, etc. And being able to do this for each project without losing important conversations or endlessly reorganizing our inboxes is wonderful.

#### Cons

As always, when you get into a product early you may find a few small glitches or ways the app can work more optimally, but the customer service has been wonderful and we know those little things like a photo/video not uploading immediately are getting worked out Quickly.

Loved it! It was like Instagram for your house build or remodel project, keeping everyone interested and looking forward to the next step. The ability to see and comment in real time was motivating. It kept what can seem like a never ending process for my clients, more exciting. THANK YOU BUILDBOOK!

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

The fact that we could all be on the same page in real time was invaluable, between builder, designer, and customer. The ability to convey communication by text, photos, and documents was super helpful. Can’t imagine doing another remodel without it. Our customer loved it too!

#### Cons

The only thing I found a little frustrating was trying to update a selection sheet for my builder. One that I could update with text, not handwriting, but I think it’s not actually a BuildBook issue. It has to do with the type of file uploaded originally. And it honestly didn’t slow us down any!

A solid "B-" with the potential to be an "A" experience with some UX work and some platform thought. Keep working on it, because I think it could be a really great app/tool!

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 3/5
- Functionality: 3/5

#### Pros

Terrific way for homeowners and contractors to share information on projects, ask questions and generally collect all documents, photos, and all documents in one place, taking it out of email and creating a shared space to use throughout the project.

#### Cons

It feels like there are still some bugs to work out.... - can't access it on my computer at work (only though my phone (Android) and iPad) - logs me out all the time forcing me to enter my email and password every time I access the app - sometimes couldn't see videos on my Android phone, but could see them on my iPad - the UX is a bit clunky, taking me multiple clicks to get to new additions or comments
