**Free Plan**

The Free Plan is...

for individuals or small teams just starting with monday.com. It supports up to two users and includes three boards, unlimited docs, more than 200 templates, eight column types for customizing boards, and mobile apps for both iOS and Android. While limited in scope, it provides a solid foundation to explore the platform's capabilities without any financial commitment. \*\*Pros:\*\* - \*\*No cost:\*\* Ideal for those on a tight budget or testing the waters with project management software. - \*\*Ample resources:\*\* Despite being free, it offers a generous number of docs, templates, and column types to work with. - \*\*Mobile accessibility:\*\* Users can manage their projects on the go with the included mobile apps. \*\*Cons:\*\* - \*\*User restrictions:\*\* With only two seats available, it may not accommodate larger teams or growing businesses. - \*\*Board limitations:\*\* Being restricted to three boards can be limiting, especially when handling multiple projects. - \*\*Lack of advanced features:\*\* Users may outgrow the Free Plan as they require more sophisticated functionalities. \*\*Basic Plan\*\* The Basic Plan is a budget-friendly option for small teams, priced at $9 per seat per month (billed annually). It builds upon the Free Plan by offering unlimited free viewers, items, and 5GB of file storage. Additionally, users can create a dashboard based on a single board and receive prioritized customer support. \*\*Pros:\*\* - \*\*Affordable pricing:\*\* At just $9 per seat, it provides a cost-effective solution for budget-conscious teams. - \*\*Expanded collaboration:\*\* Unlimited free viewers allow for better collaboration and information sharing. - \*\*Increased storage:\*\* The 5GB file storage capacity supports the management of more substantial projects. \*\*Cons:\*\* - \*\*Limited dashboards:\*\* With only one board per dashboard, users may find gaining a comprehensive overview of multiple projects challenging. - \*\*No timeline or calendar views:\*\* The absence of these features can hinder project planning and scheduling. - \*\*Restricted automations and integrations:\*\* The Basic Plan does not include these time-saving capabilities. \*\*Standard Plan\*\* The Standard Plan, at $12 per seat per month (billed annually), introduces timeline and Gantt views, calendar views, guest access, and the ability to create dashboards combining up to five boards. It also includes automations and integrations, each with a monthly allowance of 250 actions. \*\*Pros:\*\* - \*\*Enhanced visualization:\*\* Timeline, Gantt, and calendar views provide multiple ways to track and manage projects. - \*\*Guest access:\*\* External stakeholders can be invited to collaborate on specific projects or tasks. - \*\*Improved dashboards:\*\* Combining up to 5 boards in a single dashboard offers a more comprehensive project overview. \*\*Cons:\*\* - \*\*Limited automations and integrations:\*\* The 250 monthly actions may not suffice for teams with complex workflows or numerous integrations. - \*\*No private boards:\*\* Sensitive information cannot be restricted to specific team members. - \*\*Lack of advanced features:\*\* Time tracking, formula columns, and other sophisticated functionalities are not included. \*\*Pro Plan\*\* The Pro Plan is priced at $19 per seat per month (billed annually). It includes all Standard Plan features and adds private boards, chart view, time tracking, and formula columns. Automations and integrations are significantly expanded from the Standard Plan to 25,000 actions per month, and dashboards can combine up to 20 boards. \*\*Pros:\*\* - \*\*Advanced features:\*\* Time tracking, formula columns, and chart view provide varied tools for project management and data analysis. - \*\*Increased privacy:\*\* Private boards ensure that sensitive information is only accessible to authorized team members. - \*\*Extensive automations and integrations:\*\* The allowance of 25,000 actions per month supports complex workflows and numerous integrations. \*\*Cons:\*\* - \*\*Higher cost:\*\* At $19 per seat, it may strain the budgets of smaller organizations or those with large teams. \*\*Enterprise Plan\*\* The Enterprise Plan is tailored for large organizations with complex needs. Pricing is available upon request. It includes all Pro Plan features and offers enterprise-scale automations and integrations (250,000 actions per month), multi-level permissions, advanced security and governance, customized reporting and analytics, personalized onboarding, and priority support. Dashboards can combine up to 50 boards. \*\*Pros:\*\* - \*\*Scalability:\*\* Designed to accommodate the needs of large enterprises with extensive resources and complex projects. - \*\*Granular control:\*\* Multi-level permissions and advanced security and governance ensure that access to sensitive information is tightly regulated. - \*\*Tailored experience:\*\* Customized reporting, analytics, and onboarding cater to the unique requirements of each organization. \*\*Cons:\*\* - \*\*Complexity:\*\* The wide array of features and customization options may require substantial training and support to fully use. - \*\*Potential overkill:\*\* Smaller organizations may find the Enterprise Plan's capabilities exceed their needs and budget. \*\*Conclusion\*\* monday.com has a range of options designed to cater to businesses of various sizes and needs. \*\*For startups and small teams:\*\* The Free Plan and Basic Plan are great starting points for small teams. While the Free Plan offers essential features at no cost, its limitations may be quickly outgrown. The Basic Plan provides more flexibility and storage capacity without a significant financial commitment. \*\*For growing businesses and established teams:\*\* The Standard and Pro Plans deliver good bang for the buck for growing teams. With advanced features like Timeline and Gantt views, automations, and integrations, these plans help teams manage their workflows and boost productivity. The Pro Plan, in particular, is a popular choice for teams of 10-30 users with its comprehensive feature set and generous automation allowances. \*\*Enterprise-level organizations:\*\* The Enterprise Plan is geared toward large-scale businesses. With enterprise-grade security, advanced reporting, and dedicated support, this plan aims to support numerous complex workflows and demanding teams. However, price could become an issue depending on requirements and team size. Ultimately, the choice of plan depends on factors such as team size, feature requirements, and budget. By carefully evaluating these aspects and aligning them with the appropriate pricing tier, you can leverage monday.com to enhance your operational efficiency. As the business grows, it's important to reassess these needs periodically and adjust the plan accordingly to support continued growth and success.

monday.com provides a mobile app that supports remote teams and makes project management accessible for those working on the go. The app allows task management from smartphones and tablets, enabling flexibility for non-technical users and distributed teams. Its usability and convenience are often highlighted as key benefits for maintaining productivity outside the office. Despite these advantages, reviewers note limitations such as missing features compared to the desktop version, reduced functionality, occasional bugs and glitches, and a non-intuitive interface that can hinder efficiency.

The software is recognized for its intuitive interface and simple menu structure, which enable quick learning and smooth transitions between features. The clean design and organized layout help teams locate tools and manage tasks efficiently, reducing time spent searching for functions. These qualities contribute to a positive experience for most users. On the other hand, reviewers mention that new users may encounter challenges with complex menu structures, a steep learning curve on mobile, and difficulty finding specific features, making navigation less straightforward in certain scenarios.

Our entire organization is now on Monday.com, and the integrations we've been able to run with other teams and boards has made project intake and tracking easy. Monday's forms functionality solves many of our internal communication hurdles when starting projects.

Cons:

I'd love to see more export options to make it easier to digest and report on project progress and overall data from the year.

The Platform That Changed How My Team Works (Mostly for the Better

4

Overall, monday.com has been a net positive for how I manage work and lead my team. It brought structure to what used to feel chaotic, and gave everyone (myself included) a clearer sense of ownership and accountability. The learning curve exists, but once the team was up and running, the platform became less of a tool and more of a operating rhythm. Is it perfect? No. But the right tool rarely is. What matters is whether it makes your work life meaningfully better, and for the most part, monday.com does exactly that.

Pros:

The visual boards genuinely changed the way I run my team. I still remember the early days of juggling spreadsheets and chasing people down for status updates — it was exhausting. With monday.com, I pulled up a board and everything was just there. Color-coded, organized, and instantly readable. My team stopped asking "what should I be working on?" and I stopped dreading Monday morning check-ins. That alone was worth the switch.

Cons:

The two areas where monday.com still has room to grow are integrations and pricing. Some third-party connections feel a bit surface-level for a platform of this caliber — certain workflows require more manual effort than they should, which can be a minor but recurring inconvenience. On the pricing side, costs do add up as your team scales, and a few features that feel fairly essential are reserved for higher-tier plans. Nothing that would push me away, but worth factoring in before you commit.

Reasons for switching to monday.com

Asana is a solid platform, but its rigid structure meant I was constantly adapting our workflows to fit the tool rather than the other way around. monday.com offered the flexibility I was looking for such as r — customizable workflows.

Flexible and Powerful for Operations Management

5

Overall, I’ve had a positive experience with monday.com. It’s a flexible and powerful platform that helps us organize workflows, improve team visibility, and manage operations more effectively. While advanced setups can require ongoing maintenance, it has been very valuable for keeping our processes structured and centralized.

Ratings Breakdown

Functionality

Pros:

What I liked most about monday.com is how flexible it is for building workflows around the way our business actually operates, instead of forcing us to adapt to a rigid system. At Budd’s, we use it to organize and track multiple parts of the business, and the biggest advantage is the ability to customize boards, statuses, automations, and columns to match our real operational process. It gives us visibility across teams, helps centralize information, and makes it much easier to monitor progress, accountability, and bottlenecks in one place. Another big plus is that it works well as an operational hub alongside other systems. We’ve been able to use monday.com to support workflows connected to quoting, jobs, clients, and follow-up processes, which makes it valuable beyond just project management.

Cons:

What I liked least is that as your workflow becomes more advanced, monday.com can start to feel a bit cluttered and harder to manage. It is very customizable, but that also means maintaining boards, automations, and integrations can take a lot of ongoing attention. Some processes that seem like they should be simple end up requiring workarounds or extra manual setup.

Reasons for switching to monday.com

We switched from Asana to monday.com because we needed a platform that was more flexible for operational workflows, not just task tracking. monday.com gave us better customization for boards, statuses, dashboards, and automations, which made it a better fit for managing internal processes, KPI tracking, and cross-functional visibility in one place.

Pros:

What I like most about Monday is that it connects different teams and keeps everyone on the same page and the automations.

Cons:

You can’t select multiple files at once to delete them or take other actions. Sometimes it takes too many steps to do something simple. The Kanban view isn’t as good as Trello’s. Sometimes it’s not clear from the calendar which item is being referred to, and when you click on a subitem in the calendar, there’s no information about the item. You can’t rename files.

Reasons for choosing monday.com

Bitrix was much more complex. Monday is simpler and more customizable.
