Pros/Cons
Pros
- The ease of use is fantastic. Ability to import new drawings and revised drawings is great.
- The ability to carry multiple tables for labor (shop or field) is also a nice feature if you do different kinds of work or have your own time-studies for certain products.
- The people from owner to developers and service technicians are very good people and willing to help.
Cons
- Pre-Bid changes are becoming more frequent. I used to dread this especially when the addendum plans are not clouded.
- I tried to open FastDuct and got an error message. 10pm on a Sunday night and not only did I get a phone call from the president but he had me up and running in a few minutes.
- An example would be to insert a metalbetsos catalog ,or a norfab. Also the workbook they provide is full of errors that take time to fix.
Pros
- Hyphen is by far the best software product on the market for home building/construction for scheduling. The scheduling aspect of the software is awesome.
- The benefits we have realized are that we have access to start documents and purchase orders for a good number of our Builders in one centralized location, for a fee.
- This also gives me a way to better communicate with the scheduling team so they can see the exact information that the super was told about the PO or EPO in question.
Cons
- When customers merge, I end up with dead accounts that will not go away. It can be cumbersome to manage users as they change accounts and/or quit using the system.
- Going into each one is time consuming. The 24 hour delay to enter invoice info is pointless.
- No accountability with the company that sends work orders. Expensive for the sub-contractor.
