Pros/Cons
  • Pros

  • This is a good software for 3D design. It is for free and there is a great community that can give support to you, with a lot of tutorials in Youtube.
  • I love that it’s free first of all. The projections from all angles is amazing and really helpful when designing for clients so they can really get a full picture of what you are designing.
  • Love that I can create a visual for my bosses at work to see using this software, was very impressed how easy it was to pick up and go, lots of videos and help on the internet.
  • Cons

  • It has very limited functionality and is weak on 3D CAD.
  • For me it is very difficult to do the transition from 2D to 3D because there are a lots of options that I do no manage for work in three dimensions.
  • Extremely time consuming and frustrating for the amount of work produced.

  • Pros

  • Solidworks is always the best for me whenever I need to perform CAD. Having a little knowledge of the software I started using it but had an amazing experience while exploring it.
  • I really enjoy SolidWorks for all my CAD projects ever since I start my engineering education. Its reliable and easy to navigate and has a good performance.
  • My overall experience is amazing. The software is excellent, the customer service is fast and really helpful and year by year the software gets critical improvements.
  • Cons

  • I had a problem where I could not get it to work because of some conflicting software on my computer, it does not play nicely with all softwares.
  • The software can crash randomly at times and corrupt the files the user is using.
  • I use this every day and crash at least 2 times a week on average. The geometry kernel runs on a single core it doesn't multi thread so you are constantly battling with bottle neck in CPU.
