Great so far...
Other than the LAANC thing everything else has been great. I've grown to trust this app is gonna fly my drone exactly as I planned ahead of time and then bring it back when done. I have my own processing setup already but the 2 free maps per month have actually come in handy as well (when I'm in a hurry I'll start the upload while still in the field and once my computer was down at the time). I have recommended this app to many of my friends/pilots and I will continue to do so. 2 thumbs up from me.
PROSI like how everything I need is all rolled into one software.
CONSMy only gripe to this point is while they advertise you can get LAANC authorization it's really just a link to Airmap. Kinda misleading as far as I'm concerned.
Reasons for switching to Measure Ground Control
I had experienced 2 flyaways in a row using drone deploy and completely lost trust in the app. Luckily I got my drone back both times but I didn't want to try it for a 3rd time lol.

Trial for use in stockpile management
We were very interested and optimistic about using this tool for replacement of our traditional aerial surveys for coal and byproducts stockpile management. However, upon using it on a trial basis, we found that we could not get the output we needed to interface with our systems. We were disappointed that this was the case as all the other tools in Measure were so intuitive and well integrated.
PROSVery easy and intuitive to use. Great integration of flight planning and flight logs Powerful integration with PIX4D
CONSCannot output DXF files of triangulated surfaces Can't input DXF files of triangulated surfaces representing complex base surfaces of piles
Reason for choosing Measure Ground Control
Ultimately we chose Propeller Aero as it can easily use DXF files and the PPK option enabled very accurate surveys.

Whoops!
Complete Fail! I am a safe, skilled and experienced FAA certified drone pilot for films, television and commercials. My industry has very little work going on due to Covid. I was looking forward to working with a new company who hired me to fly. I told them I had never used Measure Ground Control before and they assured me that they would verify the mission they were asking me to upload comletely to make sure it would execute. I went to the location and did the first part of the job manually using my DJI App. It went well and looked great. When I called up the mission in the Ground Control App, I was looking forward to it automatically executing. It kept stopping at a certain point 1/8th into the mission. I later found out that it did not execute because you have to sign in to the DJI App on Measure Ground Control and sign in to Airmaps to get clearance around some Geofences that the company I was hired to fly for did not even know existed in the area. The company I was flying for somehow blamed me for this and has not hired me again even though they knew I never flown with Ground Control before and paid me because they acknowledged this issue. I flew the mission they needed manually to the best of my ability and got them as much of it that I could get (90%). Still they have not hired me again due to this issue in your App. I have used Litchi and Waypoints in DJI and other apps and never had this issue occur. Please correct this in your App!
PROSI like that the interface looked easy.
CONSNo one instructed me that you have to sign in to the DJI App on Measure Ground Control every single time and sign in to Airmaps in order to get clearance around some Geofences. The company I was flying for blamed me for this and has not hired me again since even though they knew I never flown with Ground Control before.
Reasons for switching to Measure Ground Control
I didn't want to make the switch. The company I was flying for uses Measure Ground Control and it was the worse experience using any app to fly my drone. The idea that the company "blamed" me for the App's shortfall and their own shortfall which they acknowledged was rather disturbing.

Great Value! But Dashboard Needs Streamlining
I was excited to use a new A.I. platform for flight planning that had a reasonable price point for smaller, start-up drone companies like mine. Measure Ground Control offers many of the same features as other programs (easy geofencing, A.I. flight plans, multi-battery missions, .kml import...) but at a much more competitive price, and also allows a free version for those who may not need to use it as often (two free). I found the individual tools to be easy to use and plan with. The only thing I've found as a knock on Measure Ground control, and maybe it's just me, but initially it seems awkward moving between "missions," "maps," "flight plans" etc. I was having trouble trying to figure out the difference between "Mission" and "Flight Plan" and "Map" as they can all be somewhat construed the same thing in certain mapping situations. I'm still learning so perhaps it will become easier to distinguish. The only other issue I had was that I attempted to fly my first flight plan using my iPad rather than my iPhone. However, I guess my iPad would not allow the latest version of Measure's Ground Control app to download, but it did allow the install of an older version. I didn't think much of it until I launched and had literally no manual control over my drone. Hith the Home button, recovered, and launched again using the iPhone. Flight went GREAT! Took two batteries and resumed with battery two VERY easily. I was definitely impressed with the ease of the app during flight.
PROSPrice point, reliable A.I. flight planning, mosaic map clarity, and easy-to-understand front-facing app are all great features of Measure Ground Control.
CONSSeems intially awkward to navigate in the personal dashboard.
Reasons for switching to Measure Ground Control
Measure Ground Control is hitting the upstart and smaller company niche/market that was previously not being catered to. DroneDeploy, Pix4D and others are still just too expensive for upstart pilots who are only getting 2 - 6 jobs a month. If all your capital is going to the software platform fees, there's nothing left for profit or upgrading hardware. Measure Ground Control is affrodable enough that ever the small guys out there can jump on the drone wave and start learning how to map like the pros.

Started at $29/ month, now $99/$69 per month very expensive . Pix4D very limited use when compared To actual app.
PROSExcellent grid and w/p missions. Supported M210/ XT2 camera
CONSNot able to link new drone, Autel Evo 2 Pro by IOS or Android app
Reason for choosing Measure Ground Control
We own several drones needed thermal ability mapping/grid for M210RTK and XT2. Now we have other options. Unless MGC can support newly released Autel Evo 2 Pro soon will seek another software.

First deployment for a Golf Course.
I used it one time to do the mapping for a golf course. I will use it again when I do another golf course.
PROSTo set it up on the computer with way points was really easy. When flying it did its intended job. The map turned out good except for a few problem areas listed below.
CONSIssues with camera not loading up properly when launching. It would be able to fly the map but it wouldn't show the video on my ipad. IT would only show on the map the drone flying the course. I would have to reset my drone and ipad every time I did a battery change. Which was really frustrating. When I got done all the pictures of the course. There was an area in the middle of the course that the pictures were all over exposed. So super bright in comparison to the rest of the pictures on the map. When uploading the pictures I would have to be on the computer using it otherwise it would time out and would have to start the upload again. Also there was an issue with the height of the drone for the map. I tried 60M and it would cut off half of the mapped area I chose in the software. Wouldn't take any more pictures after that. When I moved it up to 90M it seemed to do the whole map. There was just some little issues that made it very frustrating.

Excellent platform, could use some minor tweaks.
Very good. I've been pleased with the user interface both on the website and the mobile app. I've had some issues in flight with the app, but that may have more to do with drone issues than anything else. I really like that we can see all the flights being conducted, particularly if I have trials far away that need flown by another user, though some filtering capabilities would be great.
PROSThe website is pretty streamlined and I was able to figure most of it out on my own without much assistance.
CONSWith the landing page showing all the flight plans for every user in the company, navigation got bogged down some. If we could filter out only those flight plans or data files we're interested in, that would be a great improvement.

Overall solid platform
I mainly used Ground Control for ortho mapping. I paid for the monthly subscription when I had work to justify. The demand for ortho slowed down for me so I reverted to the free subscription model temporarily. I applaud GC for offering this flexibility and, besides the functionality it is the main reason for my loyalty to this product. I anticipate going back to the paid subscription in the near future.
CONSNot too many cons except for some glitches I had with the GC interface displaying the ortho maps from Pix4D. Simply going directly to the Pix4D interface directly to view the map and use the tools was a simple workaround. It would be nice if I was able to consistently use the GC interface for viewing compiled maps as the interface is simple and professional in appearance.

I'd like to use it again, seems like a solid product for light use.
PROSWhen talking about this product it would be helpful to call it " Measure Ground Control" that would reduce confusion and help the user find the app much faster. It was easy to pln and execute a flight plan. Upload was also easy peasy!
CONSNo 3D I think. It's been awhile since I used it last.
Reason for choosing Measure Ground Control

Nothing. Was not a good experience. Hopefully you have improved it
CONSI quit using ground control after repeated & continuous app crashes while flying the drone. Always had to switch back to manufacturer software to complete my flights. After several weeks of this I discontinued using it. 4 months later our company pushed use again. I tried again with same results- never completed 1 flight with it before app crashed. Been 6 months- not gonna use again. To be fair this was company mandate & I never dealt with customer service at Control

The Jury is Still Out...
I am a 2-maps per month, "Free" user...so I really don't have a financial dog in this fight (so to speak). But, regardless, I believe everyone who uses this company's software (whether they pay or not) should expect a quality, error-free experience. On the two occasions where I submitted drone images expecting a quality aerial 2D map to be produced in return, I was less than impressed with the final results. Subsequently, I had to do my own post-processing of the maps provided in order to make then useable for my client. It could very well be that my knowledge and understanding of the software's capabilities are lacking, or that my expectations are too high. Either way, I haven't been at all pleased with this product...but, the "price" is all I can afford at this time.
PROSEase of use is probably my most favorable Pro. The user simply uploads their drone images, and the software takes over from there.
CONSWhat I like least is the quality of the product/data. In my humble opinion, quality is mediocre at best. Though a lot of "data" is provided back to the user, it often lacks what I could call "quality control."

Generally pretty good.
PROSFlight planning was mostly easy to use and did a good job of grid surveying the AOI.
CONSNo "rough" ortho generated during or very shortly after the mission. Extremely helpful to see where you flew, if the images are roughly taken in the correct area and if they are of decent quality.

First Timer Review
I have been flying drones for 2 1/2 years, but I am new to automated flights.
PROSMy first use of the MGC software was with the waypoint-autonomous mission flights. After speaking with a supervisor about the way to operate the drone using this feature, I ran a test flight, and that went great. It was simple enough to use understand, that we went right to work with it, using it to capture our images on a commercial job. All of those imaging missions went great, and were put together as a commercial product. The potential for this software is vast!
CONSI don’t have anything negative to say. I am a visual learner, so I would appreciate more videos of of the different features actually being used , kind of an over-the-shoulder view as that feature is being put into operation.

Worked Great
I have only used this software once, but had no issues with it. I have an older tablet and was pleased with how smoothly and flawlessly it ran on my equipment.
PROSThis software was very easy to use and made more sense to me than other mapping software I have used in the past. The fact that it is free to use makes it that much better. I have always been a bit hesitant to let software fly my expensive drone for me, but Measure Ground Control worked well and I felt confident that my drone would return to home safely. Looking forward to using MGC more in the future.
CONSThe initial free trial that I received expired before I was able to get a map created.
Reason for choosing Measure Ground Control
MGC was a free trial so I couldn't say no to free. It also runs the Pix4D mapping engine which seems much stronger than the MME mapping software.

Good for basic 2D mapping tasks.
Initially, I had a lot of trouble getting support for quality issues but more recently the support improved. I would like to support this software if it had the features I need.
PROSThe online processing frees up my hardware for other work. The free trial is good to assess if the software is suitable.
CONSIt turns out I cannot download the 3D point clouds to use with my other laser scanning equipment. I can only view online without the addition of other critical laser scans and models. The interface icons/buttons need descriptions as their operation is unclear.
Reason for choosing Measure Ground Control
Ground Control at this stage cannot provide the features I need, so I will probably have to switch to another software unfortunately.

First Time User
The mosaic and the produced report from the data obtained during the flight are quite insightful, and it will be interesting to see over the coming months how much more we will be able to use this great product.
PROSThe way the application takes over and flies the drone is quite impressive...so far it has never deviated from the flight plan, and it has returned safely to the starting point without fail. The ease of planning a flight plan on the go or from you laptop is quite nice.
CONSIt was hard to grasp the procedures of how to set up and activate the flight plan at first. Better communication and instructions on practical usage at the beginning would have been nice.

The best software that I could recommend, if it functioned.
First, Customer & Technical Support: Other. Worldy. Awesome. The myriad of bugs that both flight and web processes software presented were taken seriously and I was dealt with on a very personal basis. If it were not for the fact that I cannot afford to wonder if the software will work, I can't think of even the smallest reason to consider any other option. I want to love and use nothing else, however there's confidence, a lot of it, to be rebuilt.
PROSWeb UI & Pilot App software are generally very smooth and easy to work with. Planning capability, metrics, and flight software are exceptionally useful and informative. In general, the planning process contains all the right, easy pieces. Pix4D processing. Customer & technical support are in a class all by themselves, this reason alone is worth recommending the company over others regardless of anything else.
CONSBuggy pilot software, buggy UAV command scripts, buggy web interface, uploading, processing. Proper workflow matters despite being hitched as a a la carte process. Success was HIGHLY dependent on process order. As much as I love the whole environment more than any other software or combined softwares, I have yet to plan, fly, and process a mission without a major bug. To a professional, this nullifies everything else.

So far it has been a great experience! Knowledge staff that know the issues we face as operators and willing to constantly upgrade and modify Ground Control to work for the user seamlessly!
PROSI like how it integrates everything into one spot, one program that has all the information from a mission or from a operator! It allows the user to focus on the task at hand which is flying the drone safety!
