Pros/Cons
Pros
- Planswift is like an open-source, do-it-yourself platform. It is awesome in it's capability to write what you need and even design the input screens to look very clean and professional.
- Anyway I can recommend this software for new users who are looking to have there estimation purpose. I am happy overall quality of the software.
- When looking into takeoff software this is the clear winner. It integrates well with other programs such as BuilderTrend and it is very easy to use.
Cons
- Terrible customer service. I usually call and have to leave a message and someone might get back to me in 24-48 hours.
- The other downside for me was that I had to have my computer rebuilt, and the PlanSwift files were stored in a place on my computer that is not routinely copied when an IT tech rebuilds the computer.
- If you get a live person on their end it's usually "I'll get a technician to call you back. Then I guess you're just supposed to sit at your computer and wait, usually hours or into the next day.
Pros
- The support on various Accounting platform integration and the stability of it's Mobile Access is amazing and the project document management this Oracle solution is the best choice.
- Useful and with a nice interface. Generates metrics and arrays of interesting indices for decision making in project management.
- If there is ever any kind of issue it has been resolved with in moments of reaching out to tech support. I also was able to teach myself this program which is always a bonus.
Cons
- Sometimes when you hit the execute button, it changes the dates which are not meant to be changed. It can be due to poor constraints defined by the user but it becomes a little irritating.
- Our version does not update unless you pay for a new update, and the version is so outdated that it does not work with most people's browsers and Java anymore.
- The learning curve for use of the software can be a little difficult. Also the price can be a little bit of a deterrent especially for a smaller construction firm.
