Most powerful scheduling tool for construction projects

It has been good so far. For more complex projects I have used it through Remote Desktop so the scheduling process can be faster.

It is the most powerful planning and scheduling tool at the moment and can manage the most complex projects without problem. Also, it can be linked to Primavera Risk Analysis to check on risks.
Cons:
Learning curve is a little bit more complex compared to other alternatives such as Microsoft Project.

Necessary, but a pain!

I like primavera for planning. Many construction contracts and government bids require primavera planning as a mandatory planning tool for monthly report sharing, however, it is not easy to use or learn.

The planning capacity of primavera is unmatched. The critical path analysis is like no other tool.
Cons:
The complexity of using this tool makes in extremely challenging to train people on it. People avoid this tool for that reason.

1\. The most powerful tools for project scheduling 2. It integrates multi-programs and multi-projects 3. It stores historical data of detailed activities 4. Excellent for cash flow and resource analysis 5. It integrates all schedule levels from the top (monthly) to the lowest level (hourly)

1\. Many terms and input functions may confuse beginners. It requires training before use properly.

Pros:
From P3 to recent version, I used this application for tracking construction projects. After setting the baseline, it is very easy to update the project, and print any report that someone may need. For example, in the company I used to work, as Project Manager consultant, I used this app to control Multi Millions dollars projects, as well as Cement Factories, Dairy Factories, even residential complex. I always use this app to start scheduling, and then for weekly and monthly reports. So easy to play around resourcing and leveling activities.
Cons:
Creating a baseline file is a little challenging, If you are new, you might need to redo most of your work several time.(Not as easy as MSP in correcting your files)

Microsoft project is very easy to use, but it is not as good as Primavera for getting progress report.
