### Most mentioned pros

- We have found it is much better at threat detection and stopping malware before it spreads.
- It gives us strong protection with minimal effort, and once we got used to the interface, it became a key part of our cybersecurity stack.
- From there you can literally see everything that's happening on a device. And that makes it possible for such a small program to perform miracles.

As it was my first cyber security platform I really enjoyed the threat response, although there was never a major incident, we had minor items that were able to be resolved quickly.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 3/5
- Customer support: 3/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

I liked how easy it was to learn the platform, coming from a business where I did not a similar platform transitioning was easy.

#### Cons

I do not remember having any negative feedback with the platform at the time I was using it because I had not used a platform like it previously.

### A Perfect EDR solution with Autonomous Response Capabilties

It has been really positive with SenitnelOne becoming the go to EDR product that we recommend for our clients to meet the EDR requirements.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

Autonomous response to threats regardless of being online of offline in connectivity to the management console. Ease of deployment and configuration. The simple UI with the access to the detailed product documentation, which provides comprehensive details needed for operations as well as troubleshooting. The support service, which responds rapidly and sorts out the issues within few mail correspondences.

#### Cons

They would require few feature additions in vulnerability management to compete with other leading vendors.

#### Reasons for choosing SentinelOne

The recovery feature with the ability to perform remediation and rollback autonomously at machine speed. The ease of deployment and ability to cover entire corporate infrastructures.

### SentinelOne - good protection but can be flaky

- Overall rating: 3/5
- Reviewer: Dean R.
- Verified reviewer: Yes
- Industry: Publishing
- Company size: 1001-5000 employees

Confidence in the product now (in May 2021) is nowhere near as high as it was a year ago. Recent upgrades have introduced issues for us - we have had to deal with a lot of them manually user-by-user. Current build seems a lot more stable but this was a lot of pain to go through to get to this point.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Customer support: 4/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

Agent install - deployed to a PC - reboot and it's working. Web console filtering allows identification of incidents and configuration in a fairly simple manner.

#### Cons

Some upgrades of the product have introduced major issues. eg One release broke some OS upgrades on certain models of laptop leaving them unable to boot. Another version introduced crippling speed issues with Adobe products. To their credit they do eventually fix these issues, but not quickly enough.

#### Reasons for choosing SentinelOne

Cost.

#### Reasons for switching to SentinelOne

Early adopter of S1. Cost and functionality - the daily .DAT updates with McAfee were cumbersome to keep track of and sometimes painful to resolve if they wouldn't deploy. Also it's a fairly archaic concept now to have to update daily whereas S1 has less updates (a lot more than promised) and console management is simply better than McAfee.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

I feel I am in control; with other AVs, I feel I am just looking at logs. I feel I can find what I need and execute quickly on it.

#### Cons

NC integration failing to install is not easy to track. so there are PCs Missing AV we have to manually audit to find.

We use S1 in tandem with Huntress and the response we get via monitor is second to none. Sometimes S1 will grab and stop things prior to Huntress and vice versa, however S1 gives a great deal of information as to why, how and when it finds something. Support is great, dashboard is great, although it contains alot of information and if you are familiar with how it provides the info or what the info is you can get overwhelmed very quickly.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 3/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 4/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

We like everything about S1. Its a solid product with a big feature set and also with the ability to have active threat hunting and also managed detection and response added.

#### Cons

Its not the cheapest product in the world once you add all the features on, however thats the price you pay for good security.

#### Reasons for switching to SentinelOne

We wanted a lighter, better product with better support.

Overall I think Sentinel one is great value for the service that you get. 24/7 support, monthly security reviews and constant changing definitions. I would 100% recommend.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

The setup is very easy and quick. The security it offers is top notch. Network security and threat detection is a huge issue in the world and Sentinel One delivers.

#### Cons

I don't really have anything negative to say about Sentinel One. I guess the only real thing that was sort of annoying was that is can tend to "over flag" programs etc. that aren't actually malicious. This isn't really a problem though once you dial in your preferences.

Overall, the product performed well, installed seamlessly and is easy to manage. The metrics inside the console allows you to track in the portal and confirm endpoint installs.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 3/5

#### Pros

The software was very simple to deploy and ran seamlessly in the background. We did not experience and system lag when it was running or see any user complaints about performance.

#### Cons

I guess it would be that the price was higher than another provider and of course having a recent security breach doesn’t help.

#### Reasons for switching to SentinelOne

Security issues needing temporary resolution.

The product is great for detecting new threats because of its behavioral model. Signatures are still supported for known threats so its the best of both worlds. Management is easy and several groups can be created to apply different sets of policies to endpoints.

Perfect. Everything has just been perfect. It all started with your aptitude of communicating with prospective customers in a timely manner, which your competitors did not.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

We love how transparent S1 is. We get ZERO complaints about the software blocking or causing other headaches. We like how accurate the matching is and the automatic remediation it provides.

#### Cons

It's not free (just kidding). There isn't really anything to dislike about the product. You all are on the right track and honestly the only EDR worth replacing Microsoft Defender with after it's all said and done.

#### Reasons for choosing SentinelOne

Honestly it's been sometime now. I think we evaluated Crowdstrike as well.

#### Reasons for switching to SentinelOne

Where to start? Sophos was running so hot it was burning out system fans. Laptop keyboards were over 112F hot enough to sizzle finger tips. Sophos support was unwilling to address the issues and responded with "expected behavior".

Presales was great. No pressure purchase. Answered all our questions. Gave several demos. Support has been great. No major issues during deployment. Updates have gone relatively smooth. Regular communication about updates and new features.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5

- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

Easy to deploy. Agent is lightweight. Locked down our environment - internal pen-testers have trouble bypassing it. Has saved us a few times as users will be users and click on anything and everything. Has been rock solid for the past year. Happy with the purchase.

#### Cons

Sometimes it blocks things and it's tough to tell unless you really dig into it. Sometimes causes legit software to stop working until you whitelist. No automatic update for agents.

#### Reasons for choosing SentinelOne

The S1 sales team was open and honest about their product. The Crowdstrike folks shit all over their competitors when we talked to them.

#### Reasons for switching to SentinelOne

Over all I am impressed with SentinelOne. They are continually looking at what they do and asking "Is there more that we can do with this data?" Not all of the ideas were ones we use, but they keep looking at ways to be more useful. In that process they have not lost view of the core objectives to find the bad software, its bad behavior, and kill it. If something is questionable it can track what it doe so that you can reverse it all later.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

The AI and behavior based monitoring as well as the normal fingerprint. Visibility give you the ability to look at process story lines and see how a process was triggered.

#### Cons

There are some additional functions (like rogue devices) that sounded really neat, but they are not as useful to us as we thought they would be. We get too many notifications for them to be effective.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5

- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

The most impactful feature of the product is the protection. If an incident is detected the device is immediately disconnected from the network and the team is notified via email. This kicks off a response process for my team to investigate and label as a true incident of a false positive.

#### Cons

I would say the only weakness of the product is the lack of ad hoc reporting. I have a need to create special reporting and there is not a feature to do that.

Overall, S1 is a solid product. We use it on over 2,300 devices and rolled it out with little negative impact to the business, and feel like it does well in defense against malware attacks and detecting unknown/new threats.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

It has a low false positive rate and, in general, doesn't cause disruption to legit user activity.

#### Cons

It doesn't have a feature to scan offline AWS snapshots. We were wanting this feature because we have one legacy app that is very sensitive to any anti-virus scanning from any vendor and we wanted S1 to scan an AWS snapshot of the app server so we didn't have to install the agent and risk any performance issues.

#### Reasons for choosing SentinelOne

S1 offered the same product at a lower cost, had a rollback feature that Cyber Reason did not have, and provides a ransomware warranty with their service.

#### Reasons for switching to SentinelOne

We wanted a Next Gen AV product that could detect based on malicious behavior to improve security. Also, cyber insurance offered a discount for implementing Next Gen AV.
