The system makes the quote process extremely easy for both tenured and new employees. We can get a quote out to customers very quickly because we no longer need to set up a part number in our software before sending the quote. Simply typing in one of our part numbers into a quote and the description and cost/price/margin are instantly calculated and added to the quote. We can also import an excel file with a list of part numbers so we don’t have to type them in one by one and no template is needed.
PROSWe have over 100 Billion part numbers and the Smart Part Number Quoter handles them all without a problem. It now takes us a fraction of the time it used to take to send a quote to our customers.
CONSWe would love to have a Salesforce integration, but I think that is coming soon. Updating cost of materials was a bit cumbersome at first due to the complexity of our business. We are now working towards streamlining that process and making it easier.
Reason for choosing Smart Part Number Quoter
We looked at the Infor CPQ but the big problem there was we needed to learn how to use the configurator software to set up our part numbering system and then load it all ourselves. With Partfiniti it is all done for you, you just need to answer some questions. We were up and running in a couple weeks as opposed to a few months to learn and then load the data. [SENSITIVE CONTENT] and his team made us feel comfortable with their capabilities and made it easy to get up and running.
Reasons for switching to Smart Part Number Quoter
We needed to find a way to provide our customers with a more timely, complete and accurate quote as time of quote to customer is vitally important in our industry. If we are first with the quote, our chances of winning the deal goes up drastically. Previously we were using a large and complicated excel spreadsheet that we would share with all our salespeople. It worked well when we were a smaller company but as the product line and the number of salespeople grew it was tough to keep updated and consistent. We also had lots of times when a salesperson would copy and paste a similar description and then forget to change it when needed.
