Automational is customer relationship management software that caters specifically to small businesses. The system offers marketing automation, email marketing, web visitor tracking, opportunity tracking and prospect scoring, and more.

The email marketing application contains a drag and drop editor that allow users to monitor the performance of email campaigns with built-in email statistics. With the Automation Builder tool, users can select from pre-made templates and create “drip marketing,” or nurture campaigns, sales engagement campaigns, customer onboarding and retention campaigns, and more.

Automational offers a social discovery application that can pinpoint a contact’s social identity using just an email address. With the web intelligence feature, a user can track when a person visits a site and can tell which organization they are browsing from. The software integrates with Gmail, Outlook and Office 365, and offers mobile apps so it can be accessed from mobile devices.

Any first-time users or those moving from another platform they are not happy with owes it to themselves to take a hard look at Automational, you won’t be disappointed.

Pros

Email marketing
Support staff
Automation in Flow Chart format.
Fairly intuitive and backed by a very efficient and helpful team.

Cons

Lead scoring is not as customizable as software solutions but absolutely worth the price difference.
Does feel somewhat in-developement,m lacking many features you'd expect it to have. A bit of a jack of all tasks - master of none!

We love Automational and are sad to see that it will no longer be available. We are on the hunt for a system like Automational and have not been able to find one that is comparable with services, pricing, etc

Pros

Interface is easy to understand the business, love that it connects with LinkedIN automatically, the marketing templates/tools are perfect for a start-up

Cons

For the emails, we would like to be able to cc and bcc...alternate fonts..

So I have used this product for clients and for my own business. I have enjoyed it a lot and the people have been great to work with.

The biggest reason I went with Automational was less in amount as compared to other CRM/Marketing Automation software. I had been burned on three other products using it with clients and Automational was absolutely different. They were upfront about what will work for us and what will not work, and I appreciated that.

Lead scoring is a bit weak but it has all the bells and whistles of other marketing automation software.

The perfect tool to begin with email marketing

I have been using it for large campaigns with very good results.

Pros

- Spam verification
- Website visitors tracking
- Heat map

Cons

- It is also a CRM, so no integration with a preexisting CRM the user might already have
- No record of the contacts who replied to an email campaign
- The links in an email template created for a previous campaign have to be reactivated
- No possibility to divide a same campaign in multiple lists of contacts with different mail subjects, in order to measure the subject with the most impact

- No option to send emails individually (which would dramatically reduce the risk of the emails falling into the spam boxes). Though it will of course take more time to send these emails by clicking on one contact after the other instead of sending them in bulk, it is just a matter of a few minutes for a list of 1000 emails.

I’m crazy about Automational. As a Sales & Marketing consultant to early stage businesses, I am always looking for great CRM & Marketing Automation tools that are easy to use and provide a superior ROI. I now have several clients using Automational as part of their efforts to jump-start their sales cycle.

Pros

This product delivers everything my clients need to manage their growing pipelines, send email campaigns, and automate their sales & marketing workflows --all without distracting unnecessary features or expensive start-up fees.

Plus, their support team is personally responsive and knowledgeable -they get back to you on as timely basis and are committed to finding the way through an issue.

Cons

Little usability changes – like a tag manager to see a record of all the tags I have used and more UI customization of the Opportunity view – would be helpful. Fortunately, their product team is very receptive to feedback and includes customer-requested updates regularly. Not only are they receptive, the production team proactively reaches out to acknowledge and thank their customers who have \requested a change that has been built into a release. Great team. Love them.

Advice to Others

While I do support clients on other platforms, I always recommend Automational to my SMB clients first. The performance, support, and value cannot be beat.

Automational is the beast marketing platform for small businesses bar none. I have used a number of other CRM packages and none of them stand up to Automational when it comes to ease of use. Most packages have the same tools available and with some customization are actually quite good, but Automational works right out of the box. It is an intuitive platform that seems to know exactly what it is I want to do and is designed in a way that makes my life easier than the rest. Couple the ease of use with the account management flexibility and you have a real winner. Any first-time users or those moving from another platform they are not happy with owes it to themselves to take a hard look at Automational, you won’t be disappointed.

Advice to Others

Can't beat it for the money!

For the money you can't beat it. Easy set up like the month to month commitment. They have live tech support based in the US. It helps keep us on track & know what is in our pipeline of business. I use the tasks religiously to help remind me of what needs to be done each day. I wish the outlook plug in could use some work to let you specify which contact you want to attach the email to, but that is a minor annoyance. For all the basic day to day, you can't beat it.

make sure when checking the price of a product like this you take into account that a lot of other software companies make you sign up on a yearly basis & charge you set up fees to import your info.

Recommendations

We used another product when I came on board, but there was not assistance in using the product and it was very outdated and expensive. I researched several CRMs and decided to use Automational. This SW is great. I just need to understand the flow charts better and I know it will be perfect for us.

Pros

The intuitive nature of the SW, the importing of the items and the notifications that can be created.

Cons

I need to better understand the flow charting of the steps for providing notifications and follow-up. Just going to take me some time but the outcomes is fantastic.

Advice to Others

This SW will work for small and medium companies that do not have dedicated Marketing staff.

It has been quite complicated to understand the system. Once you have learnt it, it is not difficult, but it is a learning curve.
The customer support team are always lovely, but it is just unfortunate that they run in a different time zone, so the help is never that timely.
