Buffer Software

Buffer is a cloud-based social customer relationship management (CRM) solution that manages and schedules posts on social platforms. The “Schedule” tab enables users to publish online content at a specified time, day or frequency, even during offline hours. It also enables users to create a customized queue of posts according to different time zones.

Buffer’s “Analytics” tab provides performance measures of each post on social platforms, stated by a number of likes, comments, shares, retweets, clicks and views for the pages. The solution’s “Link Shortening” feature allows users to share a unique link for an individual update to track responses of the particular campaign. The scheduling feature allows users to choose the date and time they want to publish their content.

Buffer integrates with multiple social platforms, such as Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Google+ and Pinterest. It offers a browser extension for Chrome, Safari or Firefox for page sharing. Pricing is per month. Support is provided via knowledge base.

I highly recommend Buffer if you are looking for an effective scheduler for your social media contents and updates.

Pros

Well, digitization has opens the vast door to reach the correct audience. One of the best mode is through social media. It might be for our individual growth or for an organizational goal, the main challenge we comes across is scheduling the right content at the right time. Buffer's Power Extension has made it pretty simple, we can schedule blog posts and updates for a whole week and even for a month with a one go! just create your unique status and share it as many time as you want as per the traffic on those posts.

Buffer's Browser Extension is a charm, you can install it in any browser for free. Just click on the Buffer's extension icon and it will share directly from the page you are on to all the saved accounts, if you want to change the structure, simply customize the extension from the setting panel.

The built - in analytics works awesome! it gives you a clear view on your most effective contents and even guides to re-buffer it with the right audiance.

Cons

I really love this tool, but for integration with Instagram they ask for business profile, individual Instagram profile don't work, but no need to worry, they have provided a guide to switch from personal to business profile.

Pros:

Cons

I don't believe I have found a con yet. The only con I can think of is some other services like hopper hq allow first comment but that is a different system and costs way more.

My highlights with Buffer include the performance management tool allowing for real-time measurement and modifications if needed. And they work seamless with Mac OS OS X. Get the plugin and expand the power of this tool.

Pros

Incredible management tool for an unbeatable price. Social Media is the most important Digital space you need to be in and Buffer makes sure I am always in the game. Their scheduling tool is a breeze and does the job. What I like best is the optimization that occurs Live when scheduling the posts. Every experience I have had has been a joy.

Cons

Not a huge criticism but a few more features would keep them ahead. Headline optimizer and Social Ad generator would be great additons. But this is a simple system with great functionality.

Pros

Very easy to use. The Buffer's UI is so easy and self explanatory, you don't even nee their customer support. With the scheduling, it keeps you in line with the scheduling. On Buffer, you can schedule all of your social media scheduling.

Cons

It is mostly for posting. With that being said, it doesnt' really help you much to see what is going on on your social media pages. However, that was not the purpose of the software. That'd be nice to have but it is not a huge deal.

Pros

I have used Buffer for two different businesses and might start using it for myself personally soon. It's a very intuitive, user-friendly way to schedule social media posts, and even the free version of Buffer is a useful tool. Compared to Hootsuite I find Buffer to be easier to use, and easier to learn to use, as well as far more pleasant to look at. Buffer easily allows you to schedule social media posts for various media channels, and having the browser add on makes this even easier.

Cons

I've been sad to hear about the features that Buffer is removing from their free plan (previously called the Individual plan) in March of 2018. The Re-buffer option (which allowed you to easily reschedule high-performing posts that you previously posted) will no longer be available on the free plan. They've also changed their link shortening options, no longer offering bitly link shortening.

This isn't a huge deal, and if you're planning to pay for Buffer anyway then it's fine. Buffer is really most useful if you pay for it anyway, since the free plan only allows you to schedule 10 posts in advance per social account. I have used both the free and paid version of Buffer, and probably will use both in the future, though I also plan to revisit Hootsuite and consider switching back.

Customer Service support teams are awesome. Only once in the year, we have used them has one failed to answer within 2 hours. In some cases, the interaction is initiated by the company to assist you in using their product more effectively.

Pros

Free or Premium the features are yours to explore. The information that is not available is stored if/when you switch to premium you can reach back and grab it.

Cons

Integration to Instagram is NOT seamless vs all the platforms. This may be an Instagram problem vs a Buffer problem, either way, it is annoying.

Pros

The best part about Buffer is that you can keep streams of social content ready for posting whenever you need to. It helps you train yourself to keep a consistent social schedule. Another great thing about Buffer is that Instagram content you post from Buffer can contain line breaks without putting "." on different lines in your content.

Cons

There aren't a lot of cons to Buffer - I would say one of the only negatives is their email marketing efforts to try to re-engage users, which I don't particularly enjoy. However, that has nothing to do with the experience of using the product.

Pros

Buffer is simple and easy to use. Scheduling posts and managing responses has always been a challenge before Buffer. Our clients have plenty of content and taking a couple hours to set everything up is really paying off. We are able to put the posts on autopilot and focus on engaging with our communities,

Pros

Buffer is very cost effective when compared to similar platforms. It makes post scheduling painless. The free plan is fantastic, but the RSS feed integration and analytics are well worth upgrading. Buffer recently added a pause button to pause campaigns when events that take place may make your scheduled posts seem insensitive. This is a great addition to Buffer and it really shows how much their team cares about the user and the audience.

Love it. Use it.

Pros

Buffer is a company that does one thing, and they do it very well. You can create and schedule social media posts on Twitter, Facebook and more. The best part is that they don't make you schedule every single post -- you can simply create content and add it to your queue or "buffer," and it'll be posted at the best time, or on the schedule that you set for the week.

Cons

It's not good for social media monitoring, just for posting. You can add posts to your Buffer to be posted later, but you'll need another tool in order to do community management and engagement.

Ease of scheduling ahead social media posts for multiple platforms.

Pros

You have the ability to connect a few social media accounts to your Buffer account in order to easily schedule social media posts. This allows you to post to multiple platforms all at once, either with the same post, similar, or completely different.

Cons

The free tier, which is what I used, is of course limited. It limits the number of social media accounts that you can connect, which is perfectly sufficient for starting out a social media campaign, but as your campaign and scope increases, you may quickly outgrow this tier.

Get more done in less time. One of my favorite parts of Buffer is actually the super active community that they offer on Slack.

The platform is straightforward to use, does what it should, and does it well. You can schedule a post across as many or as few social networks as you want, re-queue your top performing posts and see analytics in a few short minutes.

The content inbox is also amazing, I've added my favorite feeds and blogs, and whenever I find myself stuck for a post, there's always a golden nugget awaiting.

If you use their browser extension things get even easier, you can schedule great shares to go out on the fly.

Cons

Honestly, can't think of any substantial cons. Their services have met my needs very well. And they are a lovely crew of people!

Great tool for community manager. Easy of use, the free plan it´s perfecto if you have less than three social media account.

Pros

That makes it easy to keep social media accounts updated. You can program your lyout or flyer poster through several social networks such as facebook, instagram, twitter or even a web page. It´s to easy of used.

Cons

Unfortunatelly, soon we can program post to our facebook personal profile, only facebook pages. That is a shy because if youre and influencer you have to conect all your post on your personal social media account. Also, sometime there some post on instagram that require approval from your social media, that´s it a little anoying, probably Buffer need a negotiation or a license with Instagram and make us our live more easy. The payment plans are a litle expensive, especially if you are an amateur on social management.

I don't have a lot to say about "benefits" of this platform. I really am not at all fond of it for simplicity of social scheduling.

Pros

The software does make it easy to see when things should be scheduled if you're working within the constraints of known posting times.

Cons

It's missing a ton of functionality that other platforms have had since day one. Scheduling posts on multiple days or over multiple accounts, easy editing, and a dashboard that lets you look at more than one account at a time in the same calendar or list. Overall, the user experience is just so much more difficult than it needs to be.

Managing social media content through one page!!!

Pros

You can share content on social networking sites. In addition, you may have updated your social media accounts through the organized design and the calendar in your calendar. In addition, you can share the posts on various social networks at the same time, thanks to its synchronization capability. In the free option you can synchronize up to 4 social networks. However, the payment option allows you to synchronize many more social networks, including several instagram accounts at the same time. For the other hand, íts to easy of use and understand how you can share one post or layout in diferents accounst.

Cons

If your instragram designs have more than two images to be published in the form of a reel, you can not program the automatic publications, the tool gives you a reminder, however it would be ideal if they can be published without needing the reminder. Also, I think the paid package is a bit expensive if you are a beginner community manager.

Buffer makes my life easier. I go in on Monday mornings and schedule my clients' posts for the week. In one hour, I've got enough content scheduled to make my clients look smart and active. Buffer also gives you great guidelines by keeping you top of changes in policy and by showing you which posts have been most sucsessful in the past. It's a great *BASIC* social media management tool.

Pros

Buffer is so easy to use, and it has great features like post analytics, the ability to add images, and post scheduling. I've used competitor products in the past, and Buffer is the hands-down winner when it comes to easy of use.

It's "sister" product, Pablo, allows me to create images with text that I can post via Buffer, which is a nice addition.

Overall Buffer is a great way to manage multiple social accounts on behalf of my clients at a very affordable price point.

Cons

The only downside of Buffer is that it doesn't have the ability to respond to social - so if you want to really build your following, you do have actually go into the social channels to retweet, repost or reply.

Cons

I find the shortening of links in tweets on buffer frustrating. You used to be able to 'unshorten' links much more easily, however now this is much harder to undo and the links are sometimes automatically reshortened after you've hit 'schedule'. As a result I've found that I now use buffer for twitter less.

This software is so easy to use in comparison to other platforms because it gets right to the point: posting to the social media channels that you need. Recently they updated their posting process and you can now streamline your post customization for each platform before you schedule your post or add it to your queue instead of doing one at a time.

Cons

Maybe it is just us, but we tend to get notifications that the connection to social media sites has been lost or that Buffer can't post to said social site, more often than I think we should. It's not a terrible fix, we just reconnect, but sometimes posts are time-sensitive -- and those posts we make sure to do in real-time to be safe.

We stopped using this but when we did, it helped manage our social media accounts. It just wasn't robust enough to do everything we wanted.

Pros

I liked the dashboards and general layout of the platform. I think this would be a good tool for companies focused on editorial. Similar to HootSuite.

Cons

It didn't allow for some major features that would help with visual planning (no previews etc). It was a bit expensive for the features given. There were better options for our small company. It might be worthwhile if it is a larger company.

Pros

I've used Buffer for quite a while now and I love that it's easy to use and available on multiple social media platforms.

It's simple and fast to set up and start scheduling right away.

It's nice that they have a free for life version for 3 profiles and affordable paid options as well depending on what your needs are.

Cons

I honestly can't think of anything I hate about Buffer. I've been using the free version and as long as you only need 3 social profiles and 1 user it pretty much has done everything I need it to.

Pros

Buffer lets you schedule your social media posts ahead of time so as a company spread across different countries and timezones, it makes it very efficient for your social media team to be active during all times. We can integrate all of our the social media platforms Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram and Google Plus and schedule posts in different time zones.
I like that they send you emails with Report Cards giving you an idea of what kinds of posts are getting hits and helping us understand deeper insights into post performances across all of our channels. Their chrome extension is great! Buffer is quick and easy to collaborate on for our team. It helps us get our job done so we are very happy!

Cons

We would love to have a stream for social listening so we can monitor various hashtags, see what our audience is talking about and look at what our competitors are doing.

Hi, there! Thank you for the elaborate review! For social listening, you might be interested in our other tool, Reply (https://buffer.com/reply/). We are also working on integrating our new tools, like Reply, into a single platform for easy usage. Hope you'll like it.
