    It would be good if there was an offline version you could access on site,

    Thank you for your review Sam. I'm glad you're finding Dronedesk is helping you to manage everything in one place. The NOTAMs are pulled in every hour at the moment but we're looking to increase that frequency so they're even more current! We've looked at making elements of the system available offline but, because everything is database driven, at the moment haven't found a workable solution. We'll keep trying though.

    The layout of everything is fantastic, to be able to keep automatic flight logs from Airdata automatically is awesome. And To have client details stored securely. The checklists are a great way to remind one to what needs to be done and to be able to do the risk assessments right on a tablet rather than take printouts. No more wasting paper so it odd help the environment
    Cons:
    I wish there was a dedicated Desktop app. Having the address bar at top of the website is the only draw back. I’d like to have it open full screen. Having the option to make it a web app on my iPhone is awesome as it removes the address bar but I wish there was a way to replicate this for my Amazon fire tablet (which I plan to use as my on site device) and also my Mac for planning at home.

    Thank you for taking the time to leave a review James. I'm pleased we're helping you to do your bit for the environment! We don't have any plans for a dedicated desktop app I'm afraid. You should though be able to make your browser full screen by hitting F11 (Windows/Chrome) or Cmd-Ctrl-F (Safari/iOS). On you Amazon device you'd need to install as 3rd party launcher I believe. Hope that helps.

    I like the relative simplicity of the software and the ease of use. I am yet to try it on mobile yet.
    Cons:
    The dashboard has a lot of options and I'm not sure they're all necessary for most users. For example, "Leads", "Locations" and "Batteries" could be optional in a programmable menu system.

    Reasons for switching to Dronedesk

    Consortiq ceased to be operational.

    Thank you for your review Toby. You're right there are a lot of options in the system, some of which you might not want to use. And that's fine, I've deliberately kept the mandatory steps and form fields to a minimum so that you can elect to use as little or as many of them as works for you. "Locations" is essential though because that's how the system know where you're planning to fly!

    Drone desk review

    As mentioned in my cons I still do prefer to have everything on paper, my ops manual states I would do this. So unfortunately I haven't used their planning software much as I'm worried when I come to renew my Pfco the caa won't accept my method of using drone desk as it is not what I stated in my ops manual that they accepted! I've contacted [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] a few times through Facebook and email and always had great customer service and he is always friendly...He even helped me out with a non drone desk related topic involving Photoshop and my logo!! - Still much appreciated and in use today !!! Thanks again [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN]! I look forward to using drone desk at the end of the year with my edited ops manual !

    Very simple to use, clear website and well built. I used the function for finding local businesses and it worked fantastically well. Saved me lots of time searching for email address on websites and using Google maps.
    Cons:
    The ability to print off reports ( I'm still old fashioned and like to have paper copies) just incase for whatever reason the site was down etc. I'm not sure if this is already a function however I couldn't see the option. Also a offline capability app (on Android for me ) would be great for when on site and no internet is available.

    Thank you for your review Tom. I'm really proud Dronedesk and the service we provide - even if it's nothing to do with the application! It's okay to be old fashioned, Dronedesk caters for that too! There's a print button at the top-right of the manage jobs screen that enables you to export a nicely formatted job pack to PDF. You can even configure which job sections you want included (in "Profile > Settings > Manage job sections"). So you can save that PDF offline and even print if you really want to! And just to reassure you Tom, the CAA are more than happy to accept Dronedesk as a the stated means to run and record your drone operations. In fact, I removed a huge amount of stuff from my Ops Manual before renewal and just referenced out to Dronedesk. It was approved in just four days with no problems.

    A well thought out app which makes planning of commercial drone jobs much easier

    A well thought out app which makes planning of commercial drone jobs much easier including check lists, risk assessments, flight logs, quotes and invoicing. The developer is responsive to feedback, resolves issues quickly and has a development roadmap in place to bring more features in the future. We have fully adopted drone desk as our job planning and management system including our ops manual, so no more static check lists!

    Customisable checklists, risk assessments. Produces branded job packs, quotes and invoices. The developer is responsive to feedback, resolves issues quickly and has a development roadmap in place to bring more features in the future. Built in help, tutorial videos and facebook group makes adoption of this platform easy.
    Cons:
    Not much to say here. DroneDesk is a great tool and with more features being developed all the time!

    Reasons for choosing Dronedesk

    Prior to DroneDesk, planning was a tedious manual process, helped along with a few spreadsheets and word documents which was time consuming and prone to mistakes.

    Nothing at all. Any issues have been quickly resolved, and the customer experience is excellent.

    Does everything you need and many things you didn't know you needed.

    Avg time to spec a job, plan the flights, create the quotes and invoices is down from hours+ to 15-20 minutes...and I feel safer knowing I've got everything in hand rather than forgetting NOTAMs or similar. Support are exceedingly responsive, incredibly in touch with what is needed in the real world and on hand whenever needed.

    Time saving...reduces job planning from hours to minutes, makes repeat jobs very simple through cloning. End to end workflow, from initial spacing of a potential job right through flight planning to billing. Single source of truth for everything needed for flight planning, literally shaves hours off flight planning.
    Cons:
    Honestly...no cons whatsoever! I cannot think of an area where Dronedesk is lacking, and if it were, they would sort it within hours.

    Reasons for choosing Dronedesk

    There are no comparable alternatives, it's a no brainer.

    The fact the software was free in a world full of people offering similar but inferior software, for a large price.

Whilst Dronedesk has just about everything you need, relatively few fields or sections are compulsory to fill in. So you, as the professional, have the choice over how much or how little information you complete for each job. And that, combined with the customisable checklists and risk assessments means Dronedesk works for just about everybody.

    This resource saves me a great deal of time by synchronizing so many aspects of drone work. Risk assessments, planning, invoicing, you name it, all in one app. Support is second to none, with tutorials on YouTube to demonstrate each feature as it is developed and added.
    Cons:
    I don't dislike any features of the software. I'm sure that I will use future additions as the app and my business develop

Lots of operators have contacted me to let me know how much they've been able to "shrink" their Operations Manual once they've migrated across to Dronedesk.     Everything in one place. Easy to update risk assessments when on site reducing the need for paperwork. Professional application
    Cons:
    Some of the pre checks, post checks etc are more detailed than our ops manual requires. The function to tailor this to individual operators will beneficial. That option may be available, I just haven’t found it.

Did you know you have full control over the checklists in the system? Just head over to "Profile > Settings > Checklists" and you can edit every one of the six available lists to your exact specification. You can also chose to hide any of them from your manage job page via "Profile > Settings > Manage job sections".
