### Secondary ratings

- Ease of use: 4.5/5

### Rating distribution

- 5 stars: 125 reviews (63%)
- 4 stars: 58 reviews (29%)
- 3 stars: 5 reviews (3%)
- 2 stars: 4 reviews (2%)
- 1 star: 5 reviews (3%)

### Most mentioned pros

- It has made it incredibly easy for our members to renew their membership independently. After renewal links were sent to eligible members, approximately 70% renewed their membership within the first 24 hours of receiving the link.
- I also really like the Facebook style community forum functionality and ability to create events for your community.
- Glue Up has been a valuable tool for our organization, offering a wide range of features that help us manage memberships, host virtual events, and build micro websites—all within one platform.

### Most mentioned cons

- The event ticketing functionality is also very limited in the data it collects and how you can run ticketing, add-ons and session registration. If you care about your branding, want to use this as a high functioning CRM system which can send well designed emails to all email hosts, and you expect a lot out of your events ticketing and platform management then GlueUp isn't for you.
- The EDM system is incredibly dated, lacks programability and design functionality, is clunky, and if you want to do anything more than write some text it severely falls down - it cannot manage images and emails do not come through in high res or correct formatting in Microsoft Outlook.
- Navigating around is slow and difficult; members information is difficult to organize; reporting functionality is very basic, limited to filters; information is scattered, not allowing you to compare and analyze critical data; email builder is awful; deliverability is bad; website content management is locked down so you have to wait two weeks to make any type of update; customer support is slow and terrible, revolving door of new staff and account managers.

### We Left Glue Up—and Now We’re Considering Coming Back

Our overall experience with Glue Up was positive, particularly from a technology and member-engagement perspective. We ultimately transitioned away because our customer service experience had become a significant frustration, not because we were dissatisfied with the overall platform. Since transitioning, we have gained a different perspective on what matters most in a CRM. We have seen decreased engagement in our member portal, and our members have experienced more friction navigating community features and registering for events. It has made us appreciate how intuitive and accessible Glue Up was for our community. While there are still areas we would like to see strengthened, particularly back-end financial reporting and customer support, we miss the overall Glue Up experience enough that we are considering returning. For us, the biggest question is whether the customer service and support experience has improved enough to match the quality of the platform.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

We honestly miss Glue Up. The platform itself was modern, intuitive, and easy for both our members and our team to navigate. The mobile app and community features were especially strong. Members could easily post, interact with one another, register for events, and stay engaged directly within the app. Glue Up also included many of the tools we needed—email communications, surveys/forms, event management, membership management, and community engagement—without requiring us to add multiple separate modules. After transitioning to another CRM, we have an even greater appreciation for how seamless and user-friendly the Glue Up experience was, particularly for our members.

#### Cons

Customer service was ultimately the reason we left Glue Up. Unfortunately, our experience with support did not match the quality of the platform. Getting issues resolved could be frustrating, and we did not always feel adequately supported when problems arose. There were also areas where we wanted stronger back-end financial reporting and more detailed visibility into transactions. However, those limitations alone would not have caused us to leave. If our customer service experience had been better, we likely would have remained with Glue Up.

#### Reasons for choosing Glue Up

Price, Great customer service, met org needs with room to grow

From my sales person [sensitive content hidden] , who met with me multiple times to make sure I knew what I was agreeing to, to [sensitive content hidden] all of the people have been incredibly patient, nice, and eager to help. It really did make the process pretty painless.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

Our CRM onboarding team was knowledgeable, dedicated, and went to great extremes to get us up to speed, answer questions, and prepare us to be successful. [sensitive content hidden] were a dynamic duo. This stuff can be complex and a huge headache, but they made it enjoyable and did an incredible job for us. We would highly recommend Glue Up and their services and team mentality!

#### Cons

The only con I would relay would be that the technical meetings...the "how to's" along with the MY Glue Up development trainings, could be a little more in-depth and step-by-step. There are a lot of assumption that comes into play when someone is delivering the educational pieces, and a little more specificity would be helpful, in my opinion. That being said, there are many resources, and it's great that you can go back in and take the training any time, and in addition, work with tech support if you still have challenges or unanswered questions.

#### Reasons for choosing Glue Up

The Value, support and the fact that they wanted to partner with us as well.

#### Reasons for switching to Glue Up

We got stuck with this when I came on as the new ED, and it was very limited.

### Great for basic member management but not as a CRM system or events ticketing platform

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 1/5
- Value for money: 1/5
- Customer support: 1/5
- Functionality: 1/5

#### Pros

The chapter management functionality within the overall system is great. I also really like the Facebook style community forum functionality and ability to create events for your community.

#### Cons

There is a lot not to like however compared to other membership management systems. The EDM system is incredibly dated, lacks programability and design functionality, is clunky, and if you want to do anything more than write some text it severely falls down - it cannot manage images and emails do not come through in high res or correct formatting in Microsoft Outlook. The event page lacks adaptability if you want to create well designed event landing pages with your own branding. The event ticketing functionality is also very limited in the data it collects and how you can run ticketing, add-ons and session registration. If you care about your branding, want to use this as a high functioning CRM system which can send well designed emails to all email hosts, and you expect a lot out of your events ticketing and platform management then GlueUp isn't for you. It is great for taking member payments and registrations but otherwise it is overly complex with a lot of unnecessary bells and whistles without meeting basic association management comms, marketing and event requirements.

#### Reasons for switching to Glue Up

Seeking a system that integrated with Xero.

I have found all the staff, sales, implementation, account management and support very helpful. They are patient and timely. The membership management and event management (including all connections to the finance application) work well. They give you great visibility and look very professional. Users can easily access their event registrations and membership invoices, and it is easy to communicate via the email templates. Although a little basic, they really do cover everything you should need. The easy-to-market event templates have saved us so much time. This is a great application and a great value for money.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

Event Management and Contact Management were easy for the user to navigate and integrate into our website.

#### Cons

Although integration was quite simple, you did have to (with Glueup's help) integrate and set up on your own.

#### Reasons for choosing Glue Up

It was too simple and did not look professional

#### Reasons for switching to Glue Up

Veryconnect was not suitable for our society, although it does have positives we found it was not working and fixes and costs kept going up.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5

#### Pros

Glue Up is constantly adding and refining new features and has excellent customer support. The member community platform is well designed.

#### Cons

Managing contacts in the database is a learning curve. There are multiple places a contact exists which isn't always intuitive.

#### Reasons for switching to Glue Up

A more user friendly interface, functional event management and the option for a dedicated online member community platform.

Overall experience with Glue Up was very positive! The software is modern and user friendly with a lot of customization to the data collected and displayed. Staff are great and the onboard process was pretty well documented and largely helpful.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 4/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

The software interface for users is very modern and the social media-style community makes the experience very approachable. The workflow and automation for membership is going to make my life, come renewal time, SO much easier. Price was very reasonable for all it includes!

#### Cons

We were sold on the promise of a couple features that weren't actually available so that was frustrating (ex. shopping cart for purchase of tickets to multiple different events). I also wish the integration with QBO was more robust for custom invoices.

#### Reasons for choosing Glue Up

Best balance of price and features compared to other products considered.

#### Reasons for switching to Glue Up

No native community platform and other limitations for our team.

This platform tries to do it all for associations and does no one thing well and almost everything poorly. Navigating around is slow and difficult; members information is difficult to organize; reporting functionality is very basic, limited to filters; information is scattered, not allowing you to compare and analyze critical data; email builder is awful; deliverability is bad; website content management is locked down so you have to wait two weeks to make any type of update; customer support is slow and terrible, revolving door of new staff and account managers. Don’t be fooled by the low annual fee, you will pay for it either by having to hire consultants or additional staff to manage it for you, or spend all of your time trying to figure out how this slow, bulky, cumbersome thing works.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 1/5
- Value for money: 1/5
- Customer support: 1/5
- Functionality: 2/5

#### Pros

It’s easy to access your members and contacts, but that’s it. They’ve put a lot of thought into functionality and set it up logically, unfortunately not from a simple user experience point of view.

#### Cons

No flexibility; difficult to navigate; cannot customize many of the communications messages; website content management is very restrictive; customer support responsiveness is extremely slow.

#### Reasons for switching to Glue Up

WildApricot is archaic and it doesn’t look like they are investing in modernization.

#### Ratings breakdown

I like how clean the database is and how quickly I can find member and contact information. I also love that all my email management, event management and communities are in one place. Great value.

#### Cons

It would be nice for some of the modules to mimic functionality in email or event builder systems. But the modules can do all the same things, just a few more steps.

#### Reasons for choosing Glue Up

Best fit out of the box to our membership situation and needs.

Overall it's been troublesome. Our sales cycle was hurried through, and the company pushed a sale through before the product could have been properly assessed by our new digital team. Unfortunately, we've been unable to cancel our contract - which is somewhat understandable. However, we've found the company to be extremely dismissive and condescending when faced with legitimate product concerns. This is not a product for any organisation that is looking for VFM.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 2/5
- Value for money: 2/5
- Customer support: 2/5
- Functionality: 2/5

#### Pros

Given that none of the core features service our organisation's needs, we cannot speak to this.

#### Cons

From the implementation widget to the lack of membership-gating for content, there is a lot to not like about this product. The low send volumes for email newsletters, coupled with the high cost and poor email builder (white-labeled SendGrid) are extremely annoying. The email costs alone make this more expensive than either MailChimp or Squarespace's native mailer feature. If you have the budget, you should stretch to Hubspot, which integrates seamlessly with Eventbrite. We are limited by the number of custom fields we can add to entries/applications. The end user experience is cumbersome and somewhat meaningless. It's essentially just a payment portal with an events widget and a mailer - neither of which work particularly well, or are any better than the free options.

#### Vendor response

Dear Ashwin, We are sorry you feel that our products are not a good fit for your organization. The sales cycle was initiated on January 11th and resulted in the signed contract on February 26th. During that time, we ensured a demo was provided, examples were shown, took the time to clearly and accurately answer the numerous questions that were presented, and waited for board approval as well prior to the signing of the contract. It was not until after the contract was signed and during the kick-off call where other stakeholders were involved who identified needed customizations, however, realized that your budget and resource limitations could not support your needs. To attempt to address the concerns that were presented, we offered solutions at no additional cost to your organization, however, you did not have the tech resources to support them.

Replied April 2021

Glueup definitely made CRM and event management easier for us and it is nice to have everything consolidated in one system. Having it online grants us access to the system everywhere, especially during this time of uncertainty and WFHs.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 4/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

Event page has many templates to use, each with a different focus, so we can set up a new event page within 15 minutes. New payment menthod, Adapay, also allows us to check online payments instantly and making refunds is much more convenient comparing to it was in the past. The new feature "waiting list" is also great as it can clearly differentiate itself from the approval list.

#### Cons

While having many pre-sets templates made everything faster and easier, the backend set ups could provide more flexibility (small things like, we can only set up the event date and time, but we can't change the title of that section, which is always "SAVE THE DATE"). It would be nice to make many small feature editable, both for events page and email campaign designs. While having Adapay is a huge improvement, making partial refunds can cause issues. For example, two tickets were paid by one payment, then only one ticket was refunded, but the "total revenue" in event dashboard still shows two tickets.

So far it has been great when it comes to information management, event management and membership management. When it comes to the campaigns, we have experienced issues with the lag, but otherwise, it has been a major positive change for our Chamber.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 3/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

The integration of Membership and ease of managing RSVPs for events (including the creation of badges) has saved us a lot of time.

#### Cons

the number of times we have gotten "Error 404" and how often the page freezes.
