There are two versions available, the open source and the commercial one. The commercial is easier to install and configure, but the underlying of the open source version is the same.
Nagios gives you the total visibility necessary to manage, troubleshoot and analyze in real time the aspects of your network and the systems you depend on. Nagios can be the right hand of any Sys Admin, collecting and reporting all the needed information, from CPU use to disk´s temperature.
Not so easy to install and manage it, but after you start using Nagios, you just can´t live without it.

We cannot see full visibility and it can't recognize all traffic flows because of heterogeneous network topology we can not deploy it on the production environment.
