So during month-end closing, all that I did was copy data from file to file hoping I got everything right. Now when a sale is made it creates a new Invoice and drops the stock at the same time, thus reducing the amount of time spent entering numbers into two places. It isn't going to do your work for you and someone will have to spend the appropriate amount of time setting it up correctly. In addition to streamlining the purchasing process, the stock module is also great. We operate out of 3 separate locations, however, the old system could not accurately report inventory levels across all three locations. Now, using one central database, we may disagree on which number is accurate, but we will only argue about one number. #### Cons I’m not going to sugarcoat it; I’ve been using this software for roughly 5 months and I still Google what functions are located where, simply because menu items are frequently changed between updates. No incentive was offered horrible experience. Salesman oversold the capabilities of the self help tools and how it was a useful software for micro companies. Unless you have 10 or more employees and can dedicate one person to spend tens and tens of hours on implementation, stay away. Odoo seems to be set up to attract a customer at a low price, and then force them to spend thousands of dollars on their hourly support as the self help is useless. You will spend multiples more than the initial payment to Odoo. We asked for a refund after only a few weeks due to the salesman's over sell and poor self help tools, but they refused. I tried to reach out to corporate management but they will not respond to communications. They just want the money coming in. It is the one location where all of the business exists as opposed to where there were once 6 locations. Before Odoo, we utilized one application to generate quotes, a spreadsheet to manage inventory levels, a third application to send invoices, and often the same part number would be represented differently (three ways), therefore every month someone would reconcile the differences and every month there would be slight discrepancies. I use Studio to create custom fields or move items around on forms – I created two custom fields within hours to track things that were unique to our company. None of my coworkers are technical; however, they learned the basic ideas of Odoo in a week. It runs in a web browser as well so I can see orders on my phone while I’m away from the office. There’s this awful synth music going on right now and the man sitting behind me has no headphones on during his video conference so I hope my sentence doesn’t fall apart! #### Cons We’re charged per user each month and for certain Apps. Every time I think “that sounds great,” I find out we need another App. I know of people who made a field in Studio only to have to reverse-engineer it 6 months later. Searching large databases is also slow. They load the entire page first, before allowing me to filter anything, so I just sit there waiting for the spinner rather than performing my duties. Pet Peeve: Each application looks somewhat different. I expected the consultant to bring expertise, understand our business processes, and help us translate our needs into a practical Odoo setup. Instead, I often spent more time and energy trying to obtain clear answers than I saved by using the consulting service. After 25 hours, I did not feel that we had reached a sufficiently concrete or useful configuration for our company. For companies considering purchasing an Odoo consulting package, I would strongly recommend also evaluating experienced external Odoo consultants. The platform itself has a lot of potential, and even the built-in AI is often very effective for standard questions and basic guidance. I also appreciate the fact that many business processes can be managed within one ecosystem. #### Cons My main disappointment was the consulting service. I purchased a 25-hour consulting package for about €1,450 after a 15% discount. Unfortunately, I felt that a significant part of those hours was not used for real consulting. In several cases, even for relatively standard Odoo questions, the assigned consultant had to ask internal colleagues for help, and all of that time was deducted from my package. I fully understand paying for the time needed to answer my questions, but I do not think I should also be paying for the consultant's own training time. I also found the approach too standardized. There was very little effort to understand our specific business model and propose tailored solutions. The answers often remained within the most basic standard configuration, without really exploring tools such as Odoo Studio or more suitable alternatives. In the past tracking returns from other countries meant searching through many different disconnected systems to find what I needed. The finance department no longer complained to me about discrepancies between Purchase Orders due to the fact that the software automatically keeps track of everything centrally. Honestly I'm just glad that I can click approve things from my couch instead of having to drive into the warehouse on Saturdays. When we moved to the cloud I had anticipated that the cloud-based database would crash a lot however it seems that it will run for most days without crashing. Going back and forth from a customer's profile to the real-time inventory (live) stock levels isn't a long time either. They do have a somewhat ok-looking screen. So good value for money. #### Cons Odoo essentially blocks you from changing the core coding so if your company has a unique or "weird" way of completing processes then you will need to completely change how your company completes those processes. The on-boarding experience was horrible. On Black Friday, when we were doing our first major use of the system during peak season, the cloud synchronization between the e-commerce frontend and the warehouse logistics literally ran a continuous spinning circle on its loading wheel for 10 minutes straight, and made us appear like complete idiots to the people who were calling in. It has stopped the rest of the team from having to utilize hundreds of spreadsheets that I hate. The bank feed allows me to know what is going to happen by the end of the month instead of being caught off guard. I can access this system with my cell phone while sitting at the dentist office waiting. As we continue to expand into various countries and subsequently multiple currency accounts, odoo can manage them all. We were forced to hire someone to repair the api, however once done it will transfer transactions from another platform which is acceptable. The csv imports for 1099s and customer additions are faster than I thought they would be. #### Cons When viewing things at the top level, I dislike seeing where an invoice belongs to within an entity since you cannot tell while running a report. It is amazing for sales management and Transaction management. Overall, Odoo is a really great app. It is very easy to learn and use. Many features like customization, tasks tracking, multiple integration and automation are available which saves a lot of time. It's been around 4 months i have been using Odoo and i love it. From sales and invoicing to task management everything is at one place. It manages sales, CRM, inventory, HR, accounting and projects. Odoo also automates many stuffs such as invoicing, workflow approvals and follow ups which saves a lot of time. It is also very easy to use and has features for customization. It is a good value for the money. #### Cons Customer support feels bit slow with lower price subscriptions. With Higher plans subscription the customer service is feaster somehow. ---
