ConnectWise Control

Pros

I use this application for more than 6 years. Very easy to install and configure. Works great for remote support as it even reconnect automatically rafter restart. Works great and on UAC prompts.

Cons

It works very well no major issues so far. Only thing I noticed so far is sometime the apps takes a while to establish the connectivity in the beginning. Once connected, its solid.

Long time user and superfan of this software!

Pros

We run this on a local server and have literally hundreds of machines connected to it. It allows for unattended remote access, attended support sessions, webinars, etc... It has plugins that expand functionality, is regularly updated, and has an active forum/support community. Honestly one of the best purchases we've made as an organization and that's saying a lot.

Cons

We were grandfathered into some older pricing that made this doable. Current rates would not work for us as a non-profit. But the industry as a whole doubled/tripled pricing on remote software packages. :-(

ConnectWise Control

Overall ConnectWise Control has been invaluable to our company. We have a few hundred clients that we have to monitor and it has made that simple.

Pros

I like that you can install it directly from a remote session. I also like ConnectWise's licensing model for it. Quite helpful if you have a LOT of clients that you have to monitor.

Cons

I don't like that you can't span it across multiple screens on a Mac.

Great Alternative to expensive remote software.

We needed a program to allow us to perform remote support from our office and on the road to our customers. Have found that we use it a lot while on the road to support customers while on the phone when we can't be there in person.

Pros

I like that I can have unattended sessions on computers that I manage and remote into them when needed.

Cons

I would like to see better support for Linux Operating Systems and Mobile Devices for remote control.

Great Remote Tool for Admins!

Pros

Connect Wise is a great tool to be able to remote into end user workstations to assist with troubleshooting and also fixing issues. It allows so seamless control of the end user machine. It also stays connected during a machine reboot! Which saves a lot of time of having the end user reconnect the session.

Cons

It is fairly limited in features from other remote tools that I have used. Doesn't have a great chat feature or screenshot feature.

Great been using it for a few years no and it gets better with each release!

Pros

Connectwise control is great because they have a cloud and premise solution that integrates with mamy third party software providers that we love and use daily.

Cons

The learning curve takes some time but once you get it figured out it's very powerful.

One of the best screen sharing softwares

Pros

My favorite thing about this software is how fast it connects to a computer. I also love that there are multiple ways to get a client connected.

Cons

There is not very good support regarding reports. I want to be able to have a report not just a csv file that shows connections to the product. When I called they told me they couldn't help me that if I pay someone they might be able to show me how to do it.

Why I love Connectwise Control

Been using this software for years and it is the best bang for the buck in regards to remote access for computer repairs and maintenance.

Pros

Love the ease of remote access to clients computers. Screen recording is a must to prove that the work was done. Uploading the download files very easy. Compared to other remote access software the cost is well worth it.

Cons

The phone app works most of the time but I have had times where my Samsung S9+ app fails. The upgrades to the remote clients sometimes fails which requires a manual uninstall and reinstall.

Connectwise Control

Been using this software for remote assistance on client PCs. Works perfect. Setup/install is a breeze, connecting is simple as logging and choosing the PC you want. Never had an issue. Highly recommend.

Pros

Easy to setup, use of the product, price per month

Cons

There isn't much on the con side. I will say there are maybe too many features available, as i'm not sure i'd use them. For me, it's connect, navigate and fix. (and sometimes transfer files). I don't need application building.

Connectwise

Love it so far.

Pros

I like that i can guide customers to a website with my company name and gain control to their computer. That also allows us to add agents to customers that need access when they are not available.

Cons

Grouping computers by company is a bit confusing.

Great value for the money

I've been using the software for over 4 years now and it has helped me support users remotely without subscribing to a monthly service that I don't necessarily need. Customer support has always been helpful if an issue arises and they are quick to respond to inquiry.

Pros

The software is fairly easy to use and lets you stay in control of your hosted environment (if you want to). The technician portal is easy enough to understand without a training manual and the software offers multiple plugins to extend functionality.

Cons

As of late, they have discontinued support for hosting on the Mac OS platform, which is why I originally bought it. They also hint to the fact that Linux support may also be dropped in future releases. I don't think this should be exclusively hosted on Windows servers, since many of the advanced crowd this software is geared for is either running Linux or Mac.

Great tool with Issues

Overall experience is positive as far as the product goes, the support is not good until you get to escalation. As long as you are a small shop this software will function well but it does nto scale well.

Pros

This software has tons of features and easy to use along with very good integration with ConnectWise automate.

Cons

While this software worked great for us while my company was growing, it became a problem at scale and when used in virtualized non-persistent environments. The tool became slow and clunky to get workign and it took threatening our account manager that we would leave the product to get proper support for our issue which was discarded as a ticket for almost a year before then.

Great software for the price, feature rich with a learning curve

Will continue to use this software, as I have not found anything up to par, especially for the price.

Pros

Having used this software for a couple of years now, many simple features may be overlooked. It's nice to have the "last screenshot" of a machine. Being able to have an install file available is very useful, as is sending specific install files with machine names setup already. The menu options are abundant - send files, send Ctrl-Alt-Delete, viewing all screens, blocking user input if necessary, send/receive files, annotations, etc.

Cons

There are a few quirks that come up every so often, but nothing major, and no deal killers. Creating session groups and giving others permissions can get very tricky and difficult to setup at first. Another feature that could use an update is Wake On Lan (WOL). It's finicky and doesn't always work.

Great Product - Use Internally at Work

Typically great customer service who: - Are fairly active on user forums and implement upvoted bugfixes/hotfixes/added functionality

Pros

- Intuitive interface, organize and deploy machines
- Great granular control over access and user permissions
- Customizable interface
- Awesome remote session tools and functionality, e.g. ability to reduce viewing quality to enhance network performance, block host/guest input, **Share files through the remote session by drag and drop, etc.

Cons

- Slight learning curve when learning, at a high level, how to really customize the interface among other things

Easy, Fast, Reliable, Robust - Not much more I could ask for.

Overall, we're very happy with the purchase and performance and would recommend the product to anyone. It's fast, reliable, easy to use, competitively priced and their support has been great to work with the few times we've reached out.

Pros

I love how quickly I can navigate my inventory, how quickly machines show up once the agent is installed, how quickly a connection is established, and how robust the suite of tools are that I have to interact with the endpoint. File transfers are simple and intuitive (no digging around wondering where the file landed), and the connection doesn't take up a ton of bandwidth so even users in areas with poor internet can still get the help they need.

It's also extremely fast and easy to update the agent on the endpoints.

Cons

I can't RDP connect, only VNC. Sometimes it would be very helpful to connect to the machine without unlocking the screen to the end user. This seems like a basic feature that is standard on many other remote support tools but isn't built into Screen Connect. This is probably the most important feature request I have made.

I wish there was an option to make the chat more "attention-getting" as most users simply don't notice when I start chatting with them if they're not expecting it. I have to call the user to begin their support.

I haven't seen a remote lock (make the HDD inaccessible) or kill feature (wipe the drive after its been stolen and is unrecoverable). This would be a huge help as well.

There have been bugs with "Cloud Administrator" printers getting installed on endpoints that stay there after the connection closes. It's a bug from a previous build that hasn't fully been fixed yet.

Some of the vernacular isn't easily understood (for example, "End" removes the endpoint from the console instead of just ending a session that might be stuck open). If you read through the explanation that's included with each option, it becomes clear but it seems like a poor word choice.

Sometimes the connection gets finicky and takes a minute to reconnect if the user logs out of their windows profile. Thankfully the connection is maintained, but its a bit clunky.

Excellent tool for remote management

We've used many similar tools (LogMeIn, GoToAssist, etc.) and none have worked as well as ConnectWise Control in our experience. We've been using it for almost 2 years now and haven't run into any issues as of yet. It makes supporting our users so easy. Even though most of our users are in the same building, many times it's just faster to remote into their computer than to walk to their office. Our machines are a mix of PCs and Macs and it has worked flawlessly on each since day one.

Pros

This software is so reliable, stable, and easy to use. It provides many was to connect too. You can install an agent on a remote computer, email a link to a user, or just have them visit a website and enter a code.

Cons

For us, it costs a bit more than the alternatives because there is no educational discount, but it's still very reasonably priced.
