Top Producer keeps your leads and contracts in one spot

The company I work for uses Top Producer for the transaction side of the deal. We do actually use another program for the drip campaigns and most of the marketing side. I dont remember why we switched but there were some bells and whistles that the other software gave that Top Producer did not, however it does not have the transaction side and I like the way that Top Producer has the front page set so that all your listings and transactions are very visable with close dates and such.

PROS

I like exactly what the title says, it imports the leads from the our Zillow account without any extra work. The drip campaigns and nurturing is easy to set up and customize. Once a lead becomes a client and writes a contract they are all right there in the system. No extra typing or moving of items. Also listings are easy to convert to a sale upon a contract. I have a lot of realtors under me and and I hate redoing things like typing in data again and again. This keeps it all together.

CONS

The only thing I can think of that I dont particularly like is that it allows for duplicates in contacts. There is a solution to it but it requires doing a search and would be helpful if it didnt allow duplicates in either the contacts or the transactions which I have also accidently duplicated or at least give a warning. Okay maybe one more thing. The reports are difficulty. Because all of our transaction info is in Top Producer, sometimes I need to pull a report or a spreadsheet of say closed buyers names addresses and emails maybe for a customer party we are throwing, the reports are very limited and not even able to be customized to create a usable spreadsheet that I could take and upload to the invitation site, so it requires a great deal of time to pull the info I need out and it would be much more helpful if the reports were customizable or at least a usable spreadsheet format.

Everything a CRM Should Be

Excellent. From purchasing the software to getting everything set up... I have had a great experience.

PROS

Functionality, tools available, interface, style and design of the software

CONS

When using 8i I need to use Internet Explorer. That's the biggest downfall. I use Chrome for everything so having to have another browser open is a little bit frustrating.

Reasons for switching to TOP PRODUCER

I didn't want to use the traditional CRM provided by my broker so they could have access to my database if I ever decided to switch brokerages. Otherwise, I most likely would not have even looked at using another CRM. But glad I did. I love Top Producer!

Can’t stay awake in business without it

I have been using Top Producer for 21 years and will continue until I retire. I know there are other products out there, but this is the one that I use on a daily basis. Most of the time I can reach technical support and they are very helpful.

PROS

Are use this product for not only staying in touch with clients, I have activities for buyers and sellers and transaction plans

CONS

I don’t really like the new Top Producer X. Until it includes my plans and activities. I will continue to use 8i

TP's primary concern is locking agents into 12 month contracts before all else.

I had every intention of notifying TP that I would be continuing on within my 30 days. However I got super busy that last week and just spaced making the call on Friday while I was running around with clients. I realized over the weekend I was supposed to call, so called on Monday to notify them of my cancellation. To my absolute disbelief they would not accept my notice at 33 days. I was forced to pay them $85 a month for the next 11 months even though I did not use the platform. I was beyond angry. 12 month software as a service contracts are total b.s. and exist to benefit the vendor and the vendor only. They could point to the fine print and say it was their right not to cancel. Not an agent-centric company and the platform is mediocre.

PROS

This was my second go around with TP with a 10-year break in between. I noticed that they had finally revamped the platform and it appeared to meet modern crm standards for agent needs. They were still requiring a 12 month commitment, which is just nuts these days, especially when putting a new app through the paces.

CONS

They did tell me I could cancel within 30 days if needed, which was good to hear. However, I realized at the end of three weeks the platform was not for me due to the lack of two-way texting functionality and the out of area number they provided for the one way text. Also, the Market Snapshots had terrible deliverability.

The branded market reports are now sent through agents' email accounts, which dramatically improves deliverability. Regarding texting, two-way texting is available. And you are assigned a free Top Producer® phone number for your local market area. Any text messages you send from Top Producer® will come from this number. Any replies or calls back to that number will be routed to your cell phone. If the number you were assigned was out of area, we could change that for you.

Major Issues!!

I have been using Top Producer for over 20 years. It has worked well during that time. Recently they have had major issues. There is absolutely NO customer service. They have shut their phone helpline down. I had 20 years' worth of letters/templates/ emails/etc. that I have loaded into their system. Now they tell me they have all been erased and they can not produce them. I would never recommend their products!!

PROS

At this time nothing is working. They have tried to transfer to a new program and it is very poor.

CONS

Continual breakdowns. The new software they are wanting to switch to has very limited functions compared to the original software.

Constellation R/E Group Destroyed Top Producer

Great for 20yrs but completely ruined in the span of about 7 months. They have completely derailed our systems, lost our data and cost us a lot of additional dollars and headaches.

PROS

Originally it was highly customizable and worked great for decades. Constellation Real Estate Group purchased the system and botched the data transfer. They lost all of you historical communication email and letter templates and were unapologetic about how much this cost my team to recreate. Then to top it off they doubled their prices.

CONS

it is down all the time and the keep scaling back the features to try to get you to sign up for their new system which is a Joke!

Reason for choosing TOP PRODUCER

We when with TP over 20 years ago and are now looking for alternatives as it is no longer a viable system and overly expensive - Constellation also owner Market Leader so that is probably in the same boat.

We like how we can combine our spouses together and keep everything contained & not have toggle between screens.

CONS

I dont like how i can not print my sphere List from XP.

Great product for newer or seasoned agents

My overall experience has been great. I left TP and tried follow up boss. I didn’t like it, and I can back. Customer service has always been great.

PROS

Top producer is a CRM that you can start with just the basics, and as you get more comfortable with it you can add more to it, and it’s a simple, effective CRM from the start

CONS

What I don’t like is that sometimes it freezes, and I need to wait.

Top Producer lost 30 years of personalized marketing materials, and no apology

Terrible service. Doubled the monthly charges last September without explanation or notification. Lost over 30 years of personalized marketing material

PROS

It was the only real estate software when I started in 1986.

CONS

Geared only to the US. useless for the Canadian Market.

I see that you spoke with Tim who did everything he could to help you. Please let us know if there's anything further we can do to assist you. Regarding the price increase last year, this was the first time in 40 years we raised prices for our long-time users. We did send notification via email – I'm sorry if you didn't receive it. Lastly, regarding Top Producer usage in Canada, we have agents all over the country that use Top Producer to manage their business. Certain features, like texting, aren't currently available in Canada due to regulatory limitations. However, rest assured, our team does everything we can to bring all features to all of our customers.

Real estate focused solution with easy-to-use web interface in Top Producer X version

The sales and support interactions were all excellent, at every step of the way, from initial sales contact to following up to make sure I continue to be successful. Their sales and support people know their product roadmap and have input to product developments. This shows their product management is on point. Good product management is the key to having a system which will support their users continued success.

PROS

The contacts are easy to import and easy to set up in the Top Producer X web version. I enjoy seeing my email conversations within the contacts. It is a good addition to my normal work environment, using Win10 touchscreen laptop. I keep Top Producer X as one tab open in a Chrome web browser alongside social media and property information throughout my working day. The layout makes it easy to update information and next steps for multiple clients and contacts.

CONS

The web version doesn't have all the features of their legacy 8i product. They have an active development team working on porting features from an older system (which is still functional) into the newer system I started on, Top Producer X. Mobile version still needs updates to newer interface. Text messages sent from the TPX CRM are hard to view and act on responses on my mobile device. It's not perfect, but I have trust that they will incrementally provide updates that solve these issues and more.

Reason for choosing TOP PRODUCER

MLS integration. Out of all the companies I talked to when I searched for a CRM, Top Producer has the most real estate focused solution. They appear to be invested in supporting real estate activity as their primary market.

Reasons for switching to TOP PRODUCER

Changed brokerages - PropertyBase was included with my desk fees at my previous brokerage. At my new brokerage I had to research, pay for and administer my own CRM.

10 plus years of using Top Producer

Overall it has been a great asset. There is a learning curve but as with all. It has the capability of running your real estate business.

PROS

It is catered to the real estate business at all levels, allowing for transaction management and a great CRM.

CONS

There needs to be an export function in TPx. I would like to be able to choose a theme color for the screen. Some pages are hard to differentiate when layed on top of each other.

So far I don't see anyone that is able to do better than Top Producer so I plan to stay here. I do hope more updates will happen to make Top Producer more automated it would really help me.

PROS

I'm new user just getting started so I'm not familiar with many of the features yet. One feature that I loved is the other CRMs I used at least 50% of the emails I sent went to junk or spam folders making over half my communication never reach my clients. When testing Top Producer every email I send out of the CRM actually goes into the inbox.

CONS

I wish there were features to make text and emailing more automated. I wish that when a leads information was transferred into the CRM such as from IDX Broker that I could set up an automatic text messaging response instead of manually having to do it. I with there was an auto feature that could be set up to tell the CRM when "X" happen I want this text to be sent out. Then within a certain about of time send this email. If the features could be made more automated it would give me more time on other clients and help me acquire new clients easier.

Communication out of the CRM didn't seem to be getting to clients. Seemed useless to use the CRM for any communication.

STILL THE BEST - EVEN BETWEEN TWO CHAIRS ( X & 8i)

The quality of the products will attract the most discriminating clients/users and the strength of the support/technical support will get you through any of your challenges and will keep you there

PROS

The "X" is bringing along new wonderful features including integration with Realtor.com, MLS, Outlook and Gmail emails and social media - NEW FEATURES such as to text directly from contacts files, property insights, transaction management are simply wonderful and addressing today's needs - ..it is an ongoing process, still in beta version and the staff is dedicated to listen to our feedback and implement suggestions from seasoned veterans - very refreshing....

CONS

We need a tad of patience - the sophistication of Listing & Actions plans experienced in 8i is not yet available in X - which forces old users like me to navigate between the two versions to fully complete my work ( not ideal but bearable for the time being) - while Top Producer may not be offering the most user friendly product, you would be hard pressed to experience the power and sophistication it conveys with any of its competitors - like anything worth having, there is a learning curve with it and it is 100% worth it - the blessing in disguise is that you are never alone, the support team is the best I have witnessed in my life and I have been a Realtor for over 30 years - while the staff is unbelievably knowledgeable, they have agreeable personalities and they have the talent to listen carefully and explain patiently - rare for nerds LOL!

I try to keep abreast of all that is going on and ways to improve...X came into the picture after a tad of "stagnation" with 8i...I was considering leaving when X started to beef up the features and I started to see its future potential I started to use Top Producer when it was not yet "online" ( TP6 on floppy disks), the product(s) have come a long way since, continuously adapting to the times and the needs newly revealed....

Top Producer Contact Managament System

Staying with all prospects and clients makes it all worth while. I have had prospects in my system for several years before they purchased a property. Not every lead is ready to pull the trigger immediately. I have had any clients say over the years that because I was consistent with my follow up is one reason they dealt with us!

PROS

Top Producer has been our go to software for over 15 years. I have several thousand contacts in my data base and it would be impossible to manage them without such a system. The pre written emails and letter are very appropriate for the real estate industry, although we have added dozens additional for individual specific applications. I insist that out new associates use the program, 1 so they can do the proper client follow up, 2 so I can over see that prospects and clients are being followed up the right way.

CONS

Sometimes getting the signatures correct on the bottom of our emails need extra work. The drafting sometimes needs adjustments before sending out the email. I always check the finished email before I hit send, so this can be somewhat cumbersome id doing 10 to 30 emails in the morning.

If only you could give a ZERO rating

I will advise anyone to run away. If this can happen, it could happen to you.

See below. It had great features in years past but is very dated now.

CONS

I've spent hundreds of hours over the years building my system on TP 8i, all my automated activities and their associated templates. In the past 2 weeks, TP has lost ALL of their clients' Template Libraries. Unrecoverable. I'm horrified and deeply disappointed that this CRM that I've been using for 19 years and that I have built my business on and have referred many agents to could have failed me and thousands of others. Top Producer: "sorry for the inconvenience". Shameful and incredibly unprofessional.

Long time user of TP

The past year has been a very difficult time trying to use TP8i. I have never seen or heard of any software company take an existing software and NOT have the Ability or Resources to keep it operating as it was. I expected the NEW [SENSITIVE CONTENT] to improve the operation NOT MAKE IT WORST... I don't know how much longer I can put up with NOT BEING ABLE TO DEPEND on operation of TP8i

PROS

The ease of Bulk Email, CMA's, Template's, Applications- Net sheets, Contacts , Listings & Closings and the DISPLAY of DATA for each CONTACT.

CONS

There wasn't anything that I DIDN'T like about TP8i = The past year with all the downtime, Slow response time for the past year has been terrible and STILL is NOT a good dependable software. I am overcoming the lost of templets, BUT I end up REBOOTING TP8i about every 30 minutes to an hour. Its not the software that is a problem. It's the inability of the Present Management Keeping it RUNNING.

I switched from Active Agent, when it went out of business and TP offered to move everything into their software over 25 years ago. TP has always been considered the TOP of the Line Software until RECENTLY ..
