No incentive was offered Misleading, Unethical, and a Complete Waste of Money I signed up with Top Producer based on their promises of providing quality leads and real value. Unfortunately, my experience was the exact opposite. The leads I received were either completely unqualified or nonexistent. It felt like a bait-and-switch from day one. When I asked to cancel my contract due to the lack of performance, they refused—locking me into a service that did not deliver even the bare minimum. Their support team was unhelpful, dismissive, and clearly more focused on collecting payments than actually helping agents succeed. This is nothing more than a money grab. Save yourself the time, money, and frustration. There are better, more transparent services out there. The platform looked promising at first glance, but unfortunately, the experience didn’t live up to the expectations. The leads were poor quality, support was unresponsive, and the refusal to cancel the contract was extremely frustrating. #### Cons The entire experience was unprofessional and frustrating. The leads were completely useless—either fake or totally unqualified. When I asked to cancel my contract, they literally hung up the phone on me. Their customer service is dismissive and disrespectful. It’s clear they’re more interested in locking you into payments than actually providing value. As for TPX itself - we love the interactivity level it gives us with our clients and our transactions - we've built our very robust transaction templates and WE DON'T MISS ANYTHING in the transaction processing - we also intentionally build relationships with the people who matter most. #### Cons We want to be able to manage conversation tracking and transaction updates on the go from a phone - the web app is not great for that. Each member of our team invested in a large tablet with Data so we could use the CRM from a car as easily as from a desk. #### Reasons for choosing TOP PRODUCER It was far more robust than the others and the transaction template set up was so much easier than any other CRM #### Reasons for switching to TOP PRODUCER The software was unpredictable in its "Automated" features and limited in it's communication management systems. No incentive was offered When I first started in 2007, I loved this product and company. Essentially TP has become the Blackberry of techonology for real estate agents. It's not worth the money. The technology is dated, they are so far behind other companies. There is no such thing as client experience. To have to call back to talk to a supervisor. When cancelling my account. I'm told I have to wait TWO business days to have someone else cancel my account. That's after waiting 30 minutes on the phone. They lie and tell you you'll get a certain amount of leads a month to get you to sign up, then when you don't and ask why, they tell you it's over the duration of your contract. I have been using this for 23 plus years. They continue to make improvements and their support has ALWAYS been the best. I love the chat box - very quick and efficient. #### Cons During the changeover from TP8i to TPX, I lost a lot of data - lost a huge library of letters and emails. However I did not lose any contacts or any of the info pertaining to sales. As far as emails, since I use gmail, those emails could still be retrieved if needed. The library of letters lost were the ones I was not consistently using. #### Reasons for switching to TOP PRODUCER I tried Boomtown for about a year. During this time I continued with Top Producer. The cost for Boomtown was ridiculously high and it did not do all that TP did for us. So I quite using Boomtown and continued with TP. I used BT during the time that TP was going through a change. However I got super busy that last week and just spaced making the call on Friday while I was running around with clients. I realized over the weekend I was supposed to call, so called on Monday to notify them of my cancellation. To my absolute disbelief they would not accept my notice at 33 days. I was forced to pay them $85 a month for the next 11 months even though I did not use the platform. I was beyond angry. 12 month software as a service contracts are total b.s. and exist to benefit the vendor and the vendor only. They could point to the fine print and say it was their right not to cancel. I noticed that they had finally revamped the platform and it appeared to meet modern crm standards for agent needs. They were still requiring a 12 month commitment, which is just nuts these days, especially when putting a new app through the paces. #### Cons They did tell me I could cancel within 30 days if needed, which was good to hear. However, I realized at the end of three weeks the platform was not for me due to the lack of two-way texting functionality and the out of area number they provided for the one way text. Also, the Market Snapshots had terrible deliverability. #### Vendor response Hi Mark, thank you for taking the time to let us know, and we are sorry for the experience you've had. The live customer service use to be the best in the business! It was the main reason I recommended the product. However, when discovering my website was not function correctly with the idx, come to find out it was no longer available and it took weeks to work out thru massive emails and chat boxes. The whole thing could have been resolved, much like most thing, very quickly if a live person answered the phone! Funny thing is, you can get a live body immediately in sales!! That was the only way I got anywhere with my major problem. I'm no going to be shutting down my website soon, once my new site is set up, due to the lack of live body customer service. Who wants to pay for a service and be told when you call in that it will take 2-3 days for a response. Or you other option is to spend an outrageous amount of time typing and waiting for responses in a small little box. Clearly Top Producer has changed and regrettably service has gone down. #### Reasons for choosing TOP PRODUCER As previously stated, the customer service use to be top rated. Easy to call in and get a live body and resolve your issues, which were very rare, quickly. Now no live bodies. There is a bit of a learning curve to configure the settings, import your contacts, and setup the software. It includes well-documented support and regular training sessions that offer an ongoing refresher. The Market Snapshot and Action Plans help diversify my marketing mix and spark strategic follow-up conversations. This CMS software makes a solid supplement to the CRM our brokerage provides. #### Cons My clients have said the Market Snapshot reports look clunky compared to similar valuation alerts they receive. Granted, it works well and the numbers are on par with other AVMs; however, the front-end UI could use some modernizing. I also dislike how Market Snapshot only integrates with TP Websites, which are again very limited versus similar options. Really wish there was a simple widget to easily embed this functionality. Lastly, I hope there will be self-serve billing options in the future. Calling or emailing in with updated payment info is rather inconvenient. #### Reasons for choosing TOP PRODUCER More robust CRM software suite than other real estate Contact Management Systems. We were forced to upgrade to TPX. #### Cons TPX is very buggy. There is way too many things that are in the software that I don't use. It is the only thing keeping me on top of things. This product allows me to set plans and then just do the tasks as they come up. It keeps my schedule, if it isn't on the schedule it doesn't get done. I couldn't do have the work I do without TP keeping me organized and on schedule. My chat was answered in a timely fashion. #### Cons using 8i and x is a bit much. Features should be available in each. x has a very light display on cell phones almost unreadable and is also too light on pc. I wish they would correct this. *** Connect program needs to be made available to use all office listings with Realcomp II in Michigan. Please let me know. Market Leader a sister company does it.
