# Wix User Reviews

## Reviews summary

- Overall rating: 4.4/5
- Total reviews: 10,777

### Secondary ratings

- Ease of use: 4.5/5
- Customer support: 4.2/5
- Value for money: 4.3/5
- Functionality: 4.3/5

### Rating distribution

- 5 stars: 6,132 reviews (57%)
- 4 stars: 3,365 reviews (31%)
- 3 stars: 1,035 reviews (10%)
- 2 stars: 166 reviews (2%)
- 1 star: 79 reviews (1%)

### Most mentioned pros

- It gives me that flexibility to customize my website, add blogs, photos and business tools all in one place while still keeping things user friendly.
- They answer questions quickly and strive to make the client happy by providing choices, reviewing site traffic, offering plans within budget, and ensuring positive interactions.
- The tools are straightforward, the design options are professional, and it allows you to maintain control over your site without needing a developer. While there are a few limitations with advanced customization, it’s a great all-in-one solution for businesses that want a strong online presence without a complicated setup.

### Most mentioned cons

- Worse still, Wix completely fails to remember where you were a few seconds ago. If you are placing multiple images from the same folder onto a page, you have to manually drill down through those exact same three levels of folders time and time again.
- We also tried to get a straight answer on how much we pay for operating on WIX (Subscriptions, emailing add-ons, user add-ons, surcharges, etc) and there was just no way for anyone to answer.
- Wix’s biggest drawbacks are its template limitations — once your site is published, you can’t switch to a new design without rebuilding.

Overall, my experience with Wix has been highly positive, making it an excellent, reliable platform for small to medium-sized businesses, freelancers, and creatives who need a professional online presence without developer costs. It bridges the gap between complex web development and absolute beginners by offering an unmatched level of visual design freedom. The platform handles all the technical heavy lifting—including secure cloud hosting, automated site backups, and SSL certification—entirely in the background, allowing users to focus entirely on branding, content creation, and business growth.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 4/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

What stands out most about Wix is its unmatched balance between user-friendly accessibility and design freedom. As someone without a background in web development or coding, the unstructured drag-and-drop editor feels incredibly intuitive. Unlike other platforms that force content into rigid grids or rows, Wix allows pixel-level placement. You can position text boxes, images, and buttons exactly where you want them, giving you complete creative control over the visual layout.

#### Cons

While Wix offers incredible flexibility for initial design, its biggest drawback is that you cannot switch your website's template once it is live. If you decide a year down the road that your business needs a completely different layout or structural theme, you cannot simply apply a new template to your existing content. Instead, you are forced to manually rebuild your entire website from scratch on a new theme, which creates massive friction and consumes significant time as your brand scales.

#### Reasons for choosing Wix

While Shopify is an undisputed powerhouse for large-scale retail, I chose Wix because it offers far superior design flexibility and a much better balance for businesses that sell both services and products.

Wix is one of the most flexible visual website builders available, offering complete drag-and-drop freedom that makes it exceptionally user-friendly for non-technical creators. However, that total visual control comes with compromises in mobile optimization, template flexibility, and performance.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

Complete Design Freedom: The drag-and-drop editor gives absolute control over the page layout. Unlike structured grid builders, you can place text, images, and buttons anywhere on the screen without touching a line of code. Forbes + 1 No Technical Setup Required: Web hosting, domain registration, SSL certificates, and site security are all managed automatically, making launch stress-free. Enzuzo Massive Template Selection: Access to over 800 modern, industry-specific templates provides a strong foundation for any project without having to build from a blank page. Built-In Business Tools: All essential features—from email marketing and SEO setup guides to online bookings and payment processing—are integrated right into the native dashboard.

#### Cons

Permanent Template Choice: Once a template is selected and the site is built, switching to a new template isn't possible without manually transferring content to a new design. Mobile Layout Adjustments: While the desktop editor allows total freedom, the automatic mobile conversion often requires manual tweaking and reordering to look right on smartphones. Slower Site Speeds: The absolute drag-and-drop flexibility creates heavier page code, which can result in slower loading times compared to cleaner, performance-focused platforms. Platform Lock-In: Exporting a website or its underlying code off Wix is not supported, making it difficult to migrate to another host or platform down the road.

Wix offers a highly flexible and intuitive website-building experience, featuring a robust drag-and-drop editor, an extensive library of templates, and innovative AI integration that simplifies the design process. While the platform is ideal for beginners, some users may encounter occasional performance latency within the classic editor, as well as functional constraints when attempting to transition between templates or scale sophisticated back-end operations.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

The platform provides complete drag-and-drop flexibility, allowing for the precise placement of visual and textual elements. It offers an extensive library of over 800 professional templates tailored to a wide range of industries. The integrated App Market enables seamless, one-click implementation of essential tools such as booking systems, forums, event ticketing, and live chat. Furthermore, the built-in SEO tools generate personalized, step-by-step checklists to accelerate Google indexing. The intuitive setup process facilitates the creation of a fully functional, customized website in minutes, and the free-tier model allows users to build, test, and publish a site without requiring an initial credit card commitment.

#### Cons

Locks you into your chosen theme, requiring a total rebuild if you want to switch layouts later. Requires manual tweaking on a second editor screen to ensure the desktop design looks good on phones. Prevents you from exporting your website code or database to host it on another platform like WordPress.

### Easy to manage, looks great, and doesn't require a web team

Wix has been a straightforward and reliable platform for managing our web presenceupdates are quick, the site looks professional, and we haven't had to rely on outside help to keep things current. For an organization like ours where the priority is getting information out to the community without a lot of technical overhead, it's been a great fit. Honestly one of the easier software decisions we've made.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

Wix has been one of the easiest website tools we've used. Building and updating pages doesn't require any coding knowledge, which matters a lot when you need non-technical staff to be able to make changes without putting in an IT ticket every time. The drag and drop editor is genuinely intuitive and the templates give you a solid starting point without the site ending up looking generic. For a nonprofit that needs a professional web presence without a dedicated web team, it punches well above its price point.

#### Cons

Once your site is built on a particular template, switching to a different one means basically rebuilding from scratch, which is a bigger commitment than it sounds when you first get started. SEO customization is decent but has some limitations compared to more developer-focused platforms, so if organic search traffic is a big priority you may eventually hit a ceiling. It'd also be nice to have a few more built-in nonprofit-specific features rather than having to piece things together with third-party apps.

In terms of the performance of Wix as a website building platform it has performed well in generating effective looking sites quickly so it can come in as a real advantage for marketers who work quickly, who can launch campaigns online without a technical hold up and will keep their websites slick.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 4/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

Wix has made landing pages so simple to build and edit without the help of a developer. The drag-and-drop editor is seamless to use, there’s a multitude of slick modern-looking templates available, and building in custom forms or the like is incredibly easy. It saves a tonne of time when we need to get campaigns off the ground or edit anything on content.

#### Cons

It’s perfect for basic websites that are focused solely on marketing. However, when it comes to using more sophisticated functionalities, it feels restrictive. For growth you’d struggle to add custom features like more advanced layouts to more developer focused.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 5/5

#### Pros

When I signed on with WIX.COM years ago as an author wanting to broaden the exposure of my works, I believed WIX would satisfy my needs as an author of my literary works. And as I worked through the many challenges of making my own published site to look as professional as I could I have gotten for the most part excellent customer help and technical support.

#### Cons

My only gripe throughout the years has been that sometimes the contacts were in foreign countries, and they either spoke with a heavy accent or their knowledge was limited compared to the American Tech Support Teams at WIX.COM.

#### Cons

The old editor really sucks. :) No, it really kept me away from Wix until Editor X came into play. It needs to be retired.

#### Reasons for choosing Wix

Ease of use, support, and technology. Wix is constantly improving their environment.

Building with Wix has been such an awesome experience for me. It’s been a total game-changer to have a platform that gives me full creative freedom without any of the "techy" stress. I love how the results always look high-end and professional. Between the super helpful free plan, the smart AI tools, and the easy drag-and-drop features, it’s made the whole process of getting my businesses online actually fun!

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 4/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

I am so incredibly happy with Wix! As a designer and entrepreneur, I’m all about the aesthetics, but I’ve never been a "tech person". I’ve used it for my personal portfolio and several startup projects, and the results are always gorgeous. I love that I can just drag and drop elements exactly where I want them, it gives me total creative freedom with no coding! The value you get is just fantastic, especially since they offer a free plan that’s actually useful for testing out new ideas before you go all-in. Their AI tools and marketing features are right there to do the heavy lifting for me. I’m a huge fan of the galleries and the AI Assistants; they make everything look and feel so professional with zero stress. Even the customer support is wonderful, they’re always so encouraging and helpful whenever I have a question. If you’re a fellow creative who wants a beautiful, high-end website without needing to be a programmer, Wix is definitely the best choice out there!

#### Cons

If I had to pick one thing, it's that because the editor is so packed with features, it can occasionally feel a little bit slow or buggy when you're working on a really detailed page. It’s never been a dealbreaker for me, but a little more snappiness during the building process would make it absolutely perfect.

#### Reasons for switching to Wix

I made the switch from Squarespace primarily because of the value and pricing flexibility. As a startup entrepreneur, I really appreciate that Wix offers a functional free plan.

I have been using Wix for many years, and has improved over time. It is great for non-coders. It can be improved in highlighting the errors before publishing a page. It shows the error on the lower screen for codes, but it would help to hightlight where the errors are on the page being displayed.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 4/5

#### Pros

My ability as a non-coder, the features take time to understand, but they work with ease as you become knowledgable with the desktop and the mobile settings.

#### Cons

The offers for new apps and their marketing for additional subscriptions, even if I am already using them, tend to pop up. This may cause billing issues, when you accidently add on the same subscription for apps.

#### Reasons for choosing Wix

I was already using Wix before all the other alternative products appeared on the scene.

### Switch to Wix and get rid of your shady web developer

Overall experience with Wix has been outstanding. I can manage everything myself. Web developers are shady. If you don't speak their language, they'll take advantage of you. With Wix, I barely have to deal with them anymore. I keep a guy on retainer for major stuff, but today I was able to resolve my issue with your customer support rep. I didn't need to call the developer.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

I've used WordPress, GHL, pretty much every CRM platform and/or web design platform. They're complicated and require a full-time developer. Wix has all the necessary features and I am able to manage it entirely myself. The reason web developers recommend other platforms is because they require coding and expertise. I'm a chiropractor and I can manage everything within my Wix account. And if I can't, I hop on a chat and they walk me through it. I just got off a chat with [sensitive content hidden] . Spent 15 min with him and he fixed my email issue in addition to cleaning up my email list to improve deliverability.

#### Cons

I don't like some of the a la cart stuff. I just had to buy additional social media posts. It wasn't expensive, but it was annoying.

#### Reasons for switching to Wix

Too complicated. I had to rely on my developers. With Wix, I don't have to.

This is the main platform I have chosen for my agency, after many years working with many from its competitors. Wix standouts in terms of ease of use, tech depth and updates that continuously focus on improving the features they offer.

#### Ratings breakdown

#### Pros

Τhe flexibility, the continuous improvement and the ability to resolve any issues fast. Custom Coding capabilities of the platform have also being improving steadily.

#### Cons

That some customizations are still difficult to do, like complex ecommerce logic, or custom payment getaways connection, but in general I am very happy with Wix.

#### Reasons for switching to Wix

I was frustrated of the dev costs, the working hours we spend on making simple updates but most important was the security issues and the problem with the plugins. Also design flexibility and speed of deployment was subpar comparing to wix.

Overall I am liking Wix. I knew that there was no one in our all-volunteer non-profit art organization who could handle Wordpress, so that is why we switched. Our website contains a lot of material, so it took about 6 months to convert it all - working off and on. I think we are now sustainable.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

Because Wix has been around for years, there is a great deal of help available. I have loved the customer support - the ability to chat with a real person. I came to Wix with no prior experience with Wix. We just moved our domain to Wix and our Google Workspace email system broke. They helped me fix it. Also, I love that I don't have to worry about security, spammers, backups, etc. like I did with Wordpress. I can concentrate on providing content to our artist members.

#### Cons

I first found Wix's site menu difficult to follow, it was not intuitive to me. My experience was with Wordpress. I had issues with the differences between contacts, subscribers and people who buy subscriptions. The Automations were a bit tricky as well - knowing which ones counted in the monthly email quota. I am getting used to it.

#### Reasons for switching to Wix

There was no one else in the organization who could handle Wordpress.

Since our first build with Wix around 8 years ago, we have had nothing but an excellent experience building websites for ourselves and our clients. Wix is the best platform for do-it-yourself shops who don't have the benefit of in-house website support, but also has coding features which appeals to those who want to delve into coding for additional customization. #### Pros

The customer support is second to none across any digital product or service I have ever purchased. Anytime I've reached out, I've had a successful and pleasant experience!

#### Cons

The switchover to Studio was a bit clunky for us but we've figured it out now and appreciate the modernization of the features.

#### Reasons for switching to Wix

Approximately 2018 or 2019. We've been using Wix for at least 7 years.

Overall, my experience with Wix has been really positive. It’s super easy to use, and I was able to get my website looking professional without needing to know much about coding. The templates are great, and there are plenty of options to customize things and make the site feel like my own. I also like how quickly everything comes together. There are a few things that take some getting used to, but overall, Wix makes website building feel pretty simple and stress-free. I’d definitely recommend it.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

Wix makes building a website ridiculously easy, even if you’re not tech-savvy. The templates look great, the drag-and-drop editor is super intuitive, and there are tons of features to customize your site exactly how you want it. I also love how quickly you can get something polished and professional online. It’s flexible enough for beginners but still has plenty of tools if you want to get more advanced. Overall, Wix is a fantastic choice for creating a website without the usual headaches. Definitely recommend it!

#### Cons

One downside with Wix is that there can be a bit of a learning curve once you start digging into the more advanced features. With so many customization options, things can feel slightly overwhelming at first. Also, some features are locked behind higher-tier plans, which can get a little frustrating if you’re trying to keep costs down. Still, for most basic website needs, it’s pretty easy to work with.

#### Cons

Sometimes the dashboard analytics or backend earnings overview tabs can have temporary propagation or syncing delays, which can be slightly confusing at first glance. However, these minor display issues are rare and never affect the actual performance or security of the live client websites.

I started with WIX the summer of 2020. Our relationship has allowed us to maintain our business through the business ups and downs over the past almost six years now. With WIX AI tools our site has taken on a much more polished and sophisticated presentation. As a small business with a seasonal product this has proven a great addition to my ROI.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

The ease with which to complete critical tasks in maintaining and updating my website. Your support staff is very good, well trained, knowledgeable, and respectful.

#### Cons

The editor is a bit cumbersome. I tend to "train myself" and complete tasks that appear simple and find in work to need additional support from WIX. They are always there to fix imbedded issues and bring things back up to speed quickly.

#### Pros

The ease of use with Wix is truly remarkable. Navigating its intuitive interface feels seamless, allowing even those with limited technical experience to make updates and changes to their websites effortlessly. Whenever I need to modify a page, adjust images, or add new content, the process is straightforward and quick, eliminating the frustration often associated with website management. I am not a computer guy. I'm a fisherman who makes tackle and needs a website to make my custom made tackle available to the public. Wix is helping me to make that happen. The inherent learning curve is the tricky part for me. [sensitive content hidden] helped me resolve an ongoing issue that I could not resolve myself.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 3/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

live customer support. [sensitive content hidden] was excellent at helping me resolve my logo difficulties and confusion. 11111

#### Cons

AI help chat was more confusing than helpful. AI simply repeats itself with previous responses which were not helpful. I never downloaded my logo with my paid plan, but AI wasn't able to rectify that missed step. As a result, I was stuck with a PNG logo file that was worthless. After reaching a human support tech, the process was simple and direct with a precise answer. AI lacks the ability to identify overlooked or missed steps when working with the website in some cases.

Great, I have built a solid business from my Wix site. I am able to continue to create new offerings and better ways for my customer to interact with me.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

Customer Service Agents are very helpful. Wix continues to improve their service, enabling me to run a smooth experience for my customers.

#### Cons

My emails go to spam. I tried to pay for mail chimp, and trying to incorporate the app crashed my site and it was down for over a week before I could get it up and running again. All of this would be prevented if my emails from wix went to the receivers inbox rather than spam.
