### Most mentioned pros

- SurveyMonkey has been a reliable tool for collecting feedback and running surveys to help us improve our business model and deliver coaching that customers want in the way they want.
- SurveyMonkey is a fantastic, "point-and-click" survey software that allows users to create very high-quality and tailored surveys for a wide range of uses, from training satisfaction to polling and ranking.
- SurveyMonkey offers a wide variety of question types and formatting choices, making it easy to design surveys for virtually any purpose, from employee engagement and customer feedback to event registrations and market research.

### Most mentioned cons

- Also the analytics could be better, like more detailed breakdowns without needing to export. And sometimes the survey preview doesn’t match exactly how it looks on mobile.
- Some of the cooler features feel locked away unless you pay for the higher plans, which can be annoying if you just want to add a bit more customization or get deeper insights without upgrading.
- My least favourite thing about survey monkey is the limitations on the free editions, where key components are omitted.

SurveyMonkey is the kind of tool I never worried about — it just worked, every time, and that reliability is worth something when you're running a business and don't have time to babysit your software. For the moments where I needed credibility, decent analytics, and the ability to actually reach respondents, it delivered without drama. But the value equation is genuinely mixed. As an owner watching every line item, I felt the cost constantly, and the way useful features are parceled out across tiers left me feeling like I was always one upgrade away from what I needed. If your survey needs are simple and occasional, this is probably overkill and overpriced — a free or cheaper tool will do. But if feedback is a regular, load-bearing part of how you run things, and you value dependability and respondent trust over saving a few dollars, it earns its place. I'd recommend it with my eyes open: a strong product that asks you to pay a premium for the privilege.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 3/5
- Customer support: 4/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

Genuinely easy to get going. I had a customer satisfaction survey built and out the door in under twenty minutes the first time I used it. The drag-and-drop builder doesn't fight you, and the template library covers most of what a small business actually needs — NPS, post-purchase feedback, employee pulse checks, basic market research — so you're rarely starting from a blank page. The brand name earns trust. When a survey link says SurveyMonkey, people recognize it and actually open it. My completion rates were noticeably better than the home-grown forms I'd cobbled together before, which matters when you're trying to squeeze signal out of a small customer list. Reporting that's genuinely useful. Real-time results, clean charts, and filtering/cross-tabbing that let me slice responses by segment without exporting anything. For making a quick call after a launch, the built-in analytics were more than enough. It scales with the question. Skip logic and branching let me build something reasonably sophisticated when I needed it, and the integrations (it plugged into the tools I was already using) meant responses didn't just sit in a silo. SurveyMonkey Audience is a real differentiator. When I didn't have my own list to survey, being able to buy access to a respondent panel for some early market research was something most cheaper tools simply can't offer.

#### Cons

The pricing is the thorn in the whole thing. It's expensive relative to what's out there, and the plans are structured in a way that constantly nudges you toward the next tier up. Half the features I actually wanted — advanced logic, certain exports, removing their branding, more team seats — lived behind a higher plan. The feature-gating feels nickel-and-dimey. Things competitors hand you for free (or that feel like they should be standard) are paywalled, and you don't always realize it until you hit the wall mid-project. Annual billing pressure. The monthly price is steep enough that you're effectively herded into an annual commitment, which is a tough ask when you're a small operation trying to stay flexible. Support is thin on the lower tiers. Reaching an actual human when something went sideways was slower than I'd have liked. It can feel dated. Next to the more modern, conversational survey tools, the respondent experience is functional but not exciting — fine for B2B, less so if you're trying to make a survey feel like part of your brand.

#### Reasons for choosing SurveyMonkey

It's cheaper and more design-forward than SurveyMonkey.

Overall, my experience with SurveyMonkey has been positive. I found the platform easy to use, with a straightforward interface that made creating and sharing surveys simple. The variety of templates and customization options helped me create professional-looking surveys without spending too much time setting them up. I also liked how easy it was to collect responses and review the results. Although some features are limited unless you upgrade to a paid plan, SurveyMonkey is still a useful and reliable tool for gathering feedback and information. Overall, I would recommend it to anyone looking for a simple and effective survey platform.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 3/5
- Value for money: 3/5
- Customer support: 4/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

I like SurveyMonkey because it makes creating and sharing surveys simple and straightforward. The platform offers a variety of professional templates and customization options, which saves me time and helps me create surveys that look polished. I also like how easy it is to collect responses and organize the results in one place. The reporting and analysis tools make it simple to understand feedback and identify important trends. SurveyMonkey is user-friendly, reliable, and flexible enough for different types of surveys. Overall, it helps me gather useful information quickly while making the entire survey process more efficient and convenient.

#### Cons

What I liked least about SurveyMonkey is that some of the features I wanted were limited or only available with a paid plan. The free version can be restrictive, especially when it comes to advanced customization, reporting, and collecting a larger number of responses. I also found that some of the more advanced options could take a little time to figure out. While SurveyMonkey is easy to use overall, I think the experience would be better if more useful features were included in the basic version and the pricing options were simpler and more flexible.

My overall experience with SurveyMonkey has been highly positive—it offers an intuitive interface that makes creating even complex surveys quick and efficient. The advanced logic features, diverse question types, and real-time analytics make it ideal for collecting and analyzing meaningful feedback. While the premium features can be costly, the platform consistently delivers professional results and reliability for both small and large-scale survey projects.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 4/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

It is the most intuitive survey builder there is with features such as drag and drop interface, various questions types and provides a comprehensive way to add logic to the surveys. In addition, templates are ample and are mostly ready to use. Like their analytics and reporting as well with real-time results and export options available. It integrates well with my ecosystem of hubspot and salesforce

#### Cons

Pricing can be better, as free plan is limited to 10 questions and 40 responses per survey. Additionally, there is less flexibility compared to typeform and google forms when it comes to visual customisation

#### Reasons for switching to SurveyMonkey

As my needs grew—especially around advanced logic, customization, and in-depth analytics—I found Google form's capabilities too limited. Switching to SurveyMonkey gave me greater control over question logic, branding, and respondent segmentation, making it far more suitable for professional survey projects.

My overall experience with SurveyMonkey was very positive. I used it in 2024 during my NPower Canada program while completing the Google IT Support Certificate through Coursera. The program ran from May to August, and after it ended, NPower used SurveyMonkey to collect feedback from graduates. The platform was simple to navigate, the questions were clearly structured, and it only took a few minutes to complete each survey. It made the feedback process smooth, organized, and convenient, especially since it worked well on both my phone and laptop.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 4/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

I liked how easy and straightforward SurveyMonkey was to use. The surveys were well‑organized, simple to navigate, and quick to complete. I also appreciated that it worked smoothly on both my phone and laptop, which made it convenient during the NPower Canada program. The clear question formats and clean layout made the feedback process fast and stress‑free.

#### Cons

The only thing I liked least was that some surveys felt a bit long when there were many questions in one session. Also, a few features—like advanced question logic or deeper analytics—seem to require paid plans, so organizations using the free version have limited customization.

SurveyMonkey offers a wide variety of question types and formatting choices, making it easy to design surveys for virtually any purpose, from employee engagement and customer feedback to event registrations and market research.

This is what we use for our theater auditions and it seems to keep all of the data in one place without driving me crazy. My coffee is now cold. Used to chase paperwork around like a maniac but now I can see in the tables who is missing items. Gladly no longer have to physically mail contracts to students and I am finally able to leave the office.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 4/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

The drag and drop is fine since that's how everything is done today and thank you god the radiator in our office is finally warming up. We were able to get Survey Monkey talking to Zapier with our email lists and I was actually surprised it didn't blow up on us. My dog is barking at nothing but the templates are there, so I don't have to start over from scratch which is good.

#### Cons

I dislike having to click "Properties" every time I want to make edits to a label; it should just pop right open. Occasionally I won't be able to log in and then I'll have to sit and wait for an hour before the site feels like its going to work again. I also have to refill out every single camp form from scratch every year versus being able to just update their information which is a huge hassle for everyone and it makes me want to quit.

My time using SurveyMonkey has been pretty good so far. Its survey builder lets you turn an idea into a polished questionnaire in minutes. The site feels straightforward, and I collected useful feedback without wrestling with glitches. Custom themes and built-in reports let me tweak the look and read the numbers fast. Some bells-and-whistles stay behind the paywall, but the free toolkit covers most everyday projects. Overall, it remains a safe pick whenever you need tidy responses and simple analysis.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5

#### Pros

I appreciated how simple it was to build and send a survey with SurveyMonkey. The site offers many question types, ready-made templates, and quick tweaks so each survey can fit a specific need. Its charts, filters, and export tools let me read the results at a glance. Best of all, the clean interface guides even first-time users.

#### Cons

A few handy extras-custom branding, skip logic, and in-depth analytics-are gated behind the pricier plans, which annoys anyone watching their wallet. On top of that, the free tier caps both the number of questions and total responses, leaving bigger surveys stranded. Lastly, the interface sometimes drags when you're editing a long, complicated form.

It helps engage the whole team in participating due to ease of use and how quick the responses you provide are. Immediate results are sent and immediately gathered by the person sending the survey.

It always makes you attempt to sign in after using and creating an account which is not something I want to do. There is no go back button on response pages which can be bad if I want to change an answer.
