## Cloudflare Pros and Cons

We analyzed 520 verified reviews for Cloudflare to find out what actual users really think.

Select to learn more

Comprehensive Website Protection Tools

Cloudflare provides strong security features like DDoS protection, SSL/TLS encryption, and a web application firewall. These tools help safeguard websites from attacks and unauthorized access. The platform is praised for its easy setup, reliable threat prevention, and ability to enhance privacy and control for both beginners and experienced users.

Streamlined Website Performance Boost

Setting up Cloudflare for websites is straightforward, with easy integration and centralized management. Users consistently report faster load times, improved uptime, and reliable CDN services. The platform supports multiple sites, offers useful analytics, and helps optimize user experience, even for those with limited technical background.

Robust Free And Paid Plans

Cloudflare offers a generous free plan with many essential features for website protection and optimization. Paid plans provide additional tools and competitive pricing, making it accessible for both small sites and larger businesses. Many users find the value strong across all tiers, though some advanced features are reserved for higher-priced plans.

Slow And Limited Support Access

Reaching Cloudflare's customer support is often difficult, with slow response times and limited contact options like no live chat or phone support. Users report delays in resolving urgent issues and find the ticket system cumbersome. Support quality tends to be lower for free or lower-tier plans, leading to frustration during outages or technical problems.

Complex Dashboard Navigation Issues

Navigating Cloudflare's interface can be confusing, especially for beginners. The dashboard is cluttered with many menus and options, making it hard to find specific settings. Frequent reorganizations and technical terminology add to the learning curve, and documentation is often seen as insufficient or unclear.

CloudFlare is a hero!

5

I migrated a lot of my clients to Cloudflare because of one reason or the other and they never disappointed me! One of my clients had a really bad Bot issue. The website would go down because a lot of bots would crawl and the bandwidth is taken up by the bots and real users would suffer. He would increase his resources to deal with the problem but when I moved it to Cloudflare, it was all taken care with just a few settings like a bit of magic. He saved a lot because he no longer had to increase the resources.

Pros:

It is the best in the market! After trying and testing various products, I can tell with confidence that CloudFlare is the best. The features, quality, pricing are all unmatched. Bot prevention and DDoS attack prevention is the best out there!

Cons:

I find the pricing a bit on the higher side but for the service they provide, I think it is worth the price considering that there is volume for your service.

Reasons for switching to Cloudflare

Like I said, there is no comparison for Cloudflare. They are the best! The other services had customer support issues and also there were downtimes. Not sure how it would be for high stakes services but I'm happy with CloudFlare

Getting fast image loads and sites

5

Running an ecommerce site for multiple target location is tough and delivering content fast is more than a cake walk so we are using CloudFlare CDN and now our site is loading fast in our target geographic locations such as USA and Europe. The integration is very easy as just hosting the DNS with them is enough and it can cache static content very easily. We have compared the result without DNS and this tool is giving us really good performance. Its a must for every ecommerce site and on top of it you can use the free cdn feature as long as you want with extra bandwidth saving.

Cloudflare has been a great addition to protect our websites from DDoS attacks, as well as providing performance improvements through global content delivery. Once set up, Cloudflare works seemlessly in the background. The free plans are quite generous, even including SSL.

Cons:

Set up and configuration can be complex, but it is ok once you overcome the learning curve. The enterprise plans can get expensive.

All-in-One Solution for your websites

I've had a really smooth experience with Cloudflare. In addition to domain registration, they offer many options to make your website safer, faster, and more efficient. It’s everything you could want in one platform.

Functionality

Pros:

In my opinion, Cloudflare is the best domain registrar out there. You only pay the basic ICANN fee with no additional charges - at least that's what they claim. It's cheaper compared to competition either way.

Cons:

I wish they had a mobile app so I could monitor website stats and other details more easily. However, their website is well-designed, which helps make up for it. Another drawback is that you can't change a domain’s name servers without a paid plan.

Reasons for choosing Cloudflare

The ecosystem was definitely the main driver.
