Jackrabbit is a cloud-based dance studio management solution that is suitable for studios of all sizes. Key features include online registration and payments, recurring billing, QuickBooks integration, costume management and email/texting.

Jackrabbit dashboard allows users to check current enrollment revenue, class details, alerts for birthdays, waiting lists and task lists. Users can post staff announcements using different colors and fonts. Class listings and available spots can be checked in real time on the website. I absolutely LOVE their Customer Service. Their customer service is personal, speedy, and efficient. They really listen to their end-users to help create the best product possible.

Cons:

I wish there was a direct plug-in to show a monthly calendar of all classes to link to our website. There are some out there made by third-parties and that is not what I want.

Reasons for choosing Jackrabbit Dance

Honestly, it was the customer service shown coupled with my past experience with the product. It also was nice that we would be charged by the amount of enrolled students, so pricing was affordable.

Reasons for switching to Jackrabbit Dance

When I came on board, enrollment tracking and payments were not cohesive nor easy to find/streamline. Reporting was non-existent. I had used Jackrabbit at another studio and loved it, so I advocated for the transition.

Jackrabbit Dance - Highly reccommend

Overall, it is a comprehensive software that allows for teacher and employee integration. More so than other software we have used. This is our current software.

Pros:

Jackrabbit shows a thorough overview of your business and has many options for reports. You are able to break down income reports by genre, class, students, year, etc.

Cons:

The transaction summary on each client account can sometimes be confusing. The running balance is often hard to track. It is easy to miss charges on accounts if you have rules set. We often comb through accounts to ensure they aren't missing anything

Pros:

Easy to use, saves a to of time, great customer service!! Has all the features I need for the studio to work efficiently.

Cons:

Wish we could have more selection/options for our credit processing. This would make the rates more competitive and also we have had some issues with the only 2 options available now.

Jackrabbit is GREAT, but NOT EXCELLENT. More Fixes Needed.

~ Overall, again, the technology is fantastic, bar none! ~ The ability to utilize any ACH payment and/or merchant to receive/make payments is not available - that is very unfortunate. ~ Customer service/support is readily available; that is a plus. ~The interface is not user-friendly. I fully realize 10 random people asked will answer very differently across the spectrum on Jackrabbit's interface user-friendliness. That said, its interface satisfies a contingent of the population and definitely not the general populous. i.e., where items or tasks can be found is not intuitive, sadly. This makes Jackrabbit extremely difficult and off-putting to use, for me.

Overall jackrabbit dance is great. I appreciate all of the updates. I do wish there was a way to opt out of certain ones like camps and appointments. We do not have use for those

Easy to use and to teach others how to use. Love the parent portal and that parents can see all messages sent to them. Customer support is awesome! Always there to help and never make me feel dumb for not knowing something.

Cons:

I wish there was a faster way to enroll a lot of students at once. I wish we didn’t have to pay for inactive students. I know we can send them to lead but then when the come back I have to remember and pull from lead file and merge accounts. If I don’t remember they look like a new family.

It was called dance one. It was not an online program. We could only use it on one computer. We switched in 2013

Jackrabbit Dance - Fully Recommended

Jackrabbit Dance has very thorough customer service and can be set up to suit your business and needs. Totally customizable. Schedules can integrate with your website. You can email and text through the service. It offers many easy options for billing and tracking.

Ease of online registration and seemless integration with a Family Portal which allows families to stay on top of their accounts, including billing.

Cons:

Some improvements needed for tracking a drop-in pre-paid punch card system.

Reasons for switching to Jackrabbit Dance

At the time of the switch, they did not have a functional online registration system that gave families the ability to register for their classes etc. The admin workload was enormous.

I'll never stray from Jackrabbit again!

I have used a few different studio software systems over my 17 years of dance studio ownership. I was regretfully tempted to try a new platform a few years ago - BUT I immediately returned to Jackrabbit and will never stray again! Not only does it offer everything I'm looking for in one program, but it's always adding new features (many of which are suggestions from other users like me!) And if I have an issue (user error or otherwise), the customer service is incredibly responsive and helpful! I cannot say enough good things about my experience with Jackrabbit and highly recommend to my DSO peers!

I love having a one-stop-shop for all aspects of running my dance studio - CRM, costume management, store inventory, recital prep, and more! No need to use a bunch of different apps/programs - Jackrabbit does it all!

Cons:

Wish I could tab between students or families, but I love that I can make that suggestion and it could possibly be added to the improvement pipeline!

When I tried switching over to DSP (promised to be cheaper and better), it didn't have any of the capabilities that Jackrabbit had so I very soon switched back to JR - which is well worth the cost.

At the time, Danceworks was a desktop app and not online, I wanted something I could access from anywhere. And when I trialed DSP (promised to be cheaper and better), it didn't have any of the capabilities that Jackrabbit had - which is well worth the cost.

Response time is phenomenal, they consistently strive to improve and there are so many tutorials to help train new staff and get yourself unstuck. So grateful they partnered with Zapier to make our backend easier and the partnership to now make texting an option has been a complete game changer for our business.

Cons:

So many options to customize sometimes it’s hard to find the exact information you are looking for.

Great tool!

I enjoyed the process of using it as we grew. It had great customer support for when I needed the guidance. Now, we use it for our classes and its interface is awesome.

Very user-friendly. All the training is provided so it's an easy to use app. it does have everything needed in it, I consider it a "one stop shop" - great use for what it costs.

Cons:

It was difficult to be able to modify different billing details. at first, as a small studio it could be considered expensive for some but not once fully and properly implemented.
