The SWING pdf converter is incredibly stable and simple to use. It is highly powerful, and because it employs Notes-forms as the foundation of the print-design, it is very simple to produce WYSIWYG-documents. I highly recommend it. The best part of the SWING pdf converter is that the time of conversion is very less and the quality is good.

The only issue I discovered is that when we try to make a PDF with large images, the program refuses to accept it and crashes. Also, it is slightly expensive.

If there is a con, I missed a multilingual support. A developer has to translate some forms. With each release or update, the developer has to check, where changes have been made and might have to translate again.

The fast convertions to pdf and the easy way to use for de end customer. The support is for the server version we had was fantastic and fast. They are taking the time to analyze the problem and come very fast with fixes.

The domino server version of Swing had many errors in the beginning. The server version is more difficult to implement but much more easy to use.

We initially purchased SWING PDF Converter to save e-mail that needed kept passed the 90 day purge date or to make electronic document of e-mails or other documents that needed to be e-mailed easily. It did a great job of creating PDFs that looked almost exactly like the document in Notes. It was very easy to setup and use the basic functionality. As we started moving away from Notes we used it to archive some databases into PDF Packages which are very easy to search. It really helped us with our Notes archiving. A feature we particularly liked was the ability to setup a special form for conversions so we could export to a PDF one way without affecting the main form.

While most documents converted well, there were a lot of time where we needed to make adjustments to forms to make the PDF readable. When creating PDF Packages dates don't convert properly. You have to create a separate view and convert the date columns to text to come across properly.

It provided the function calls I needed to generate a PDF documents and attach them to client forms ready to send out to clients.

The automatic 'make this notes document into a pdf' doesn't work for us as our client forms seem to be too complicated with tables inside tabbed tables .

We've been using Swing PDF Converter for almost five years now and it's proven to be as effective and useful as we had hoped it would. The ability to take your emails or whatever other documents you have and print them to PDF is great. This is probably domino render issue, but when using linux server there are sometimes challenges to finetuning PDF layout.

Outline of Swing generated PDF is not allways equal compared to direct print from Notes.

The business problems we were resolving was a migration from the Notes platform.

It works, we have migrated thousands of notes documents to PDF. This has mainly been due to the requirement to shut down the Domino servers. The product has been easy to use and worked well.

It can take a while to run, would be nicer if it was quicker, but it is basically set and forget, come back later and check in on where it is up to. A few gotchas (learning curve) regarding unexpected characters in file names, but after some use, you work out how to get around those.

The conversion of PDF works very well with the Swing PDF Converter. The content of all tabs and sections of the document is visible, attachments will be embedded in the document and also document links are working within the PDF document (initial planning needed). It's easy to integrate the libraries into own Domino databases. In summary it's a great product! Congratulation to SwingSoftware!

Sometimes the performance could be better, but I don't assign it to the Pdf converter. It depends on the infrastructure (network, ..) and in LotusScript you can't convert documents in parallel - that's not an issue of Pdf converter!

We were moving our Finance and Human Resources programs from Lotus Notes to our centralized state government system. We were required to save payroll documents for 5 years and we could not use any Lotus Notes based version as we were not renewing licensing for those products. Swing PDF converter was a very inexpensive but quick and quality product that fit our needs perfectly. I was able to archive all documents in a matter of weeks. I wish we had known about Swing before our change of systems.

I did have limited use in our end of life cycle project and did not find any cons for our use. All was positive.
