About Infosistema DMM

InfosistemaDMM is a data migration management system. It offers the following features:

DMM enables data and BPT /light BPT (workflows) migration across/into/out of OutSystems environments (onPrem, Hybrid, Cloud, AWS, OutSystems PaaS), databases (mySQL, Oracle, SQLServer, Azure SQL) and OS versions (v9, v10 or v11) using a simple user interface without the need of building custom scripts.
It also supports features like data anonymization, data scramble and data deletion, essential to comply with GDPR and other similar data protection regulations.
Product-based solution for data / BPT management in OutSystems, available for download on the OutSystems Forge as any other OutSystems Component.
It has been validated and has the fastest and most efficient solution for moving data across OutSystems environments by 3rd parties.

Optimize your data migrations while saving time & money

Pros:

Data migration processes are typically very complex activities where we tend to use a significant amount of man-hours. With this data migration tool, we were able to migrate data between servers in a more straightforward manner and without all the post-migration hassle of personally ensuring all compliances were followed and all data has been properly migrated. From my perspective the simple manner in which one can easily create a connection to a given DB server/catalogue and create/execute a data migration procedure is the best feature of Infosistema DMM. From a data manager point of view the possibility of performing data scrambling and anonymization to data existing on prod environments before migrating it to dev is also extremely interesting given the need to comply of privacy and security requirements.

Cons:

From a UI perspective, Infosistema DMM still has a margin for evolving given its current simplicity. Considering it is to be enclosed in an OutSystems environment maybe it could follow existing themes and give users a more “familiar feel” and a more intuitive experience for those using it for the first time.

Smart user migration option is not available in trail version.

Hi Sharad, You are correct, the Smart User Migration option is only available for the subscribed Enterprise version. In the Trial or in the DMM Professional versions, the default behavior of DMM will be to migrate all users from Source to Destination, even if the migrated data doesn't have a foreign key (FK) to the user. You can use specific Application properties in any version if instead of just guaranteeing the users exist in the destination and create them if they don't (default behavior), you want to have DMM update User data for those users that already exist in Destination environment. Take into account Users are matched by their Username. Thanks for the feedback!

Very easy to use. Relatively quick data transfer. Transfer comes with log files. Good documentation.

Cons:

Sometimes it would transfer records from other applications that I didn't plan to transfer, and thus creating duplicate records in some of the tables.

Hi Sergii, If you could get in touch with us to clarify what the issue was I'd very much appreciate it! FYI, we recently improved feedback when selecting apps/entities to migrate, in that DMM presents a pop-up saying which additional referenced tables it found - by default, when using DMM you don't need to worry about data dependencies, since it will automatically detect all dependencies and create a migration plan involving all of them to guarantee data consistency. What we did more recently was improving the feedback to the users of when DMM automatically selected additional dependent entities. This presentation of information also allows you to edit/define things like the User Mapped Table in the entity so as to avoid data duplication that you mention. Thanks!

Important Migration Tool

If you want a fast and easy data transfer tool, then I would recommend that you try Infosistema DMM. It has also amazing features that provide ways to perform faster data migration for Outsystems.
