Once we did launch we reduced our need for a dedicated Mongo DBA which effectively paid for the cost of the service. Should check what other companies offer, like MongoAtlas. You are not allowed to "Downgrade" a mongodb replica, you need to start another one (u will be billed by that) and migrate from A to B, instead of ScaleGrid downgrade it and resize. Big pros: - You can use your own AWS account (BYOC) - If you have credits you can use them towards your VMs on your cloud provider - Support team (100%!) - Slow queries report (this is great to fine tune our queries) - Easy to use dashboard interface Cons: So far i'm very satisfied with the service and can't think of anything I disliked.
