Cons: Many of the features I didn't think were present were already in the program. I didn't read the manual! The tool could do a slightly better job of prompting you to check out the manual but it's really a case of read the manual and FAQ first to save a lot of time! Knowing that I own my technology/software gives me peace of mind as not only someone who does contract work on the side, but also has a company machine that I have to use for me daily driver. It is incredibly simple to use, even my less than literate users are able to now develop their own documentation outlines and have the IT team or someone else on their own team help to finish up the more technical side. This is the end all be all of documentation software for me and I will be using it exclusively for the rest of my career. Cons: There is not much that I can complain about really. I would like their to be a mobile app or some kind of mobile connection that could be established to make creating tablet or smartphone documentation easier, but even then that's not really all that necessary. Reasons for switching to Folge Cost and useability. I could easily create a document for something that was in a browser window, but without paying a monthly or annual fee I was unable to record anything on my desktop. 50% of my workflow requires cmd line inputs and not being able to adequately take notes or screen shots of what I am putting in powershell or how we need to setup workstations makes those other products useless. I love that I can remove the crop and do it again if it does not provide all of the information, even if its a year later. Adding pointers, highlighters, and other information to images has been very useful, and the fact that its all hot keyed makes it even better. Cons: Honestly, not an issue with the software, but i wish i could output into our documentation platform. Currently i use the export to word, then copy that in and modify the formatting to fit within the documentation platform. The platform we use is not heavily used in the world, so its not really a worthwhile time investment to implement. I wish they would handle the import the word documents or another format that folge uses in a more reliable way so it was easier to bring them over there. Reasons for choosing Folge Hot Keys and simple functionality with a lot of ways to export the data, while holding on to the original data.Three suggestions for Folge... A cropping feature that removers a vertical or horizontal section of the screenshot, places a divider line (maybe something a little fancy that you can select like a tear), and brings both sides together. That way you can remove a lot of dead screen space between two parts that you are showing on the screen at once.Second suggestion, allow for gif recordings and editing. Many times a screenshot is good enough, but several times, i could remove 10-30 screenshots for one small gif. Even if it was selecting the screenshots in order and creating a gif off of all of the steps to turn it into one step would be very helpful. To expand on it, having gif export as an option would be helpful as well. Maybe the step title and description text can be placed around the various images in the gif by the designers choice.That brings me to the third one, keep the text box to add text to an image, but also add a box to place the title and/or description for the step in the image, and then give the option, if its in the image, to not place it in the export document.
