I was hoping to be able to jump right in with little to no instruction, but there are a few nuances that I was unaware of in terms of HTML code.

Some parts of the UI are cumbersome and feel stuck in another internet era. Some services can be very pricey if you don't have a subscription.

Segmentation (allowing us to properly split our customers up and target them with appropriate emails). Templates: easy to setup, customize and ensure they look professional.

I am a web developer and their API is fantastic to use. It is easy and straightforward.

The custom HTML email editing is a pain, you can't actually edit the HTML in the platform, so you've got to constantly upload, test, and re-upload changes.

Campaign monitor cares about the look and feel, as well as the performance of their platform. The way contacts/subscribers/lists are managed is one of my favorite features.

As such, lists often run into negative numbers after I delete them.

I love that campaign monitor has two ways of creating emails, either uploading custom HTML or using their in-house email builder.

The ease of use is by far the best thing about Campaign Monitor. No background in coding or HTML.

Campaign Monitor allowed us to send our monthly newsletter with ease. This brought in an abundance of new business for the company and helped to grow revenue.

Also, no way to tell the difference between hard bounces, which makes it impossible to automate deactivation of contacts in Salesforce.

It has some nice built in engagement segments (wish they were customizeable), and a decent set of basic integration capabilities. For the price, it does ok.

Excellent customer service -- a human picks up the phone when you call and works with you to creatively solve problems, if you use the Premier tier.

If your business thrives from email traffic then I definitely recommend upgrading to the highest-paid tier account: Premier to gain the best results.

It's easy to use and has some great features like you can import your plain text right from your html in CM.

Best of all is the truly responsive customer service. Sarah was particularly helpful and accommodating when I really needed her help.

The biggest problem that I've been having lately is trying to send a preview email to myself...it never seems to work on a Friday.
