Emma is a cloud-based email marketing platform that helps users design email campaigns and review their performance. The solution can be used on multiple devices, including smartphones and tablets, using native applications.
Emma helps marketing teams design email programs, segment audiences based on demographics, tenure or spending history and send automated emails. This system also helps users track performance metrics for individual emails or for the entire program and provide visual insights using dashboards and reports. Emma lets users deliver follow-up emails by analyzing if the recipient has opened an email or clicked the link sent to them.
Emma helps users understand which content performs well by analyzing emails with the best click-through rates. Other features include a drag-and-drop editor, customizable templates, open API and integration with other applications, such as Salesforce, SurveyMonkey, Shopify, Wistia and Front Desk.
Emma offers four differentially-priced editions that are targeted to different user segments, including universities, agencies, franchises and nonprofit organizations.

Very bad company to do business with.
Emma email provide very aesthetically pleasing emails while being user friendly. This this product is competitive with other basic email marketing SAAS products such as Constant Contact and Mail Chimp.
Don't let their sales staff fool you on their upgraded packages. This is a very basic easy to use email service, that's it. Their upgraded packages which claim to add advanced features and automation don't hold a candle to a true email automation SAAS product such as Infusionsoft etc. Their sales account reps make big claims on the capability of the features but when actually using them, the workarounds that you will need to do are tedious. We have been using Emma for many years because of the attractive email layouts and ease of use. When we saw the promises the upgraded tools promised we were very excited. Unfortunately after really diving in, we found that the tools were not capable of effectively executing the processes and automation sequences that we needed. We signed a one year contract on the upgrade and as LONG time customers were reminded of that when asking to be dropped back to our old package. Because of this, we will be cancelling our entire account when the upgraded package expires. It's unfortunate, as we would have continued to be customers for many years to come. It's definitely not worth the price, and I would not recommend doing business with Emma.

I like the fact that once you create your groups of people, you can easily send emails to large groups of people that look professional. It also is a way for our organization to quickly alert our members of last minute notifications without having to hunt down emails of who you need to contact, you just select a group! It's also easy to see how many people opened it, if they clicked on it, if they opted out of receiving more, which helps us figure out how many people are actually using the information we're sending.
You have to 'add' a person, you cant just create a campaign and send it to a list of emails that aren't in the system.
Think of your whole experience with this product. Did you learn as you went, or just stuck with the basics without trying to learn more. Did it help you reach people, or hinder your communications? Think about the whole product, not just a single high or low.

The product is extremely user-friendly. Has a great list of feature set that meets today's need in the marketing world. And is a great price for the product.
There really is not anything I don't like. It is a great product all around as it allows you to do simple email marketing, but also allows you to track individual users and their history.
Make sure that you are looking for a marketing email platform (like Constant Contact) and not a marketing automation platform (like Pardot and Marketo). This is more like Constant Contact (so much better though) and not Marketo.

We used it for a while and when we weren't pushing the capabilities too hard, it was fine for basic use.
I liked the general layout and interface along with the overall ease of understanding the reports. The latter, while not extremely granular, is fine for basic users. In fact, that sums up the software: fine for basic users but may be frustrating for those needing higher functions.
There were issues with saving my work and felt that the technical support could never satisfactorily address those issues so we eventually switched to another email client.

I like the "click map" that is sort of a "heat map" of where the audience is clicking within the emails.
Overall it is pretty clunky with a lack of design elements. I feel like it is kind of like a first generation MailChimp, but not quite as dated as Constant Contact.

it's a little frustrating to have to change the template font to another font. Especially with bullet points. also, you cannot copy and paste into the blocks without creating extra steps.

Has nice templates and admin. Other than that there werent many features that couldnt be selected or offered from another company at a far more reasonable cost.
Training was a COMPLETE waste of money. All the "Trainer Did" was give me a 15 -20 minute rundown of some of the features I already knew about. Company claimed it was an "hour consultation"...which even if it had been would be an insane hourly rate
I had clients interested in using it and having us manage it. Ultimately they did not like the functions, especially for the price, so we discontinued that service within 2 months of using MyEmma. However, MYEmma continued to bill use and threatened to bill for a full entire year. Event though we no longer use any aspect of their business. Proving the greed of business and their "could care less" about the customer business motto.

It's intuitive and easy to learn. Allows you to design beautiful emails and newsletters without knowing code. The customer service team is great, and there are great trainings and webinars available.
Some of the features are more limited than other products. Coming from MailChimp, I wished that I could play around with Emma's templates and code a bit more than what's accessible.

great customer service and very easy to use. Drag and drop design and lots of templates to choose from. I've used Emma for almost 15 years. I've seen them grow substantially and their product and service hasn't deteriorated. No need to know html but you CAN write your own code if you know how.
They are a tad bit slow to adopt to new features compared to competitors BUT when they release updates they WORK. Rarely are there bugs. It's refreshing.

The tutorials are concise. The tactics blog sharp af. Neither is the case with MailChimp, which isn't bad either. I guess Emma just has the right vibe, if I can ever get to the tutorial and set it up lol
No one's around at night when I work on these things to authorize a few hours of free trial so I can go tell my supervisor to pay for it and get it over with. Beyond that, we'll figure out sales forth if there's a hard product market that exists that I'm not seeing anyways...

It's very intuitive. I like how you can drag and drop components and it's easy to type in straight text without coding. It's a great tool for many situations. It's easy to use templates saved in the system for regular emails such as newsletters as well.
Sometimes it's not as flexible as I would like. I can't move a certain component, though I can move others.

It allows people to design emails in an entirely wysiwyg interface, meaning you don't have to know any HTML.
Its strength is also its weakness. Emma completely changes and botches your HTML. You cannot enter your own media queries - it completely overrides them, and even in the support forums the requests for Emma not to touch pasted-in HTML have gone unanswered for years. It's like using FrontPage and watching your beautifully-crafted code become a mangled, garbled mess that's very difficult to fix. Even for those who don't code their own HTML, it's perplexing - there are often strange quirks like bold fonts that don't appear bold in inboxes and many other issues because the code Emma uses isn't actually friendly for many email rendering engines (ahem, Outlook). It's also somewhat unstable and clunky - we've found many times when it won't actually save, or it's just running very slowly.

New marketing/analytics features not scene on other platforms
I really like that there are many features that are not available on other email marketing platforms. If you do email marketing, you MUST try EMMA for their marketing/analytics features
Since they're still pretty new, they looked over some simple features that other platforms have. and that they didn't implement, but they are adding features often and customer support is very receptive.

Pros: Low learning curve, easy to use, friendly interface, not intimidating, pretty email designs, the UI is really nice, customer service is unbelievably good.
Cons: If you host and run multiple accounts, gathering roll up data can be time-consuming.

Tools don't always work well - or as expected. Auto save function is super annoying and 'undo' doesn't work very often either. Seems pretty limited for a tech-savvy super user as myself.

Emma makes email marketing easy for small businesses, non-web people, and those with low resource availability. It's intuitive and easy to use, no HTML knowledge required. There are hundreds of templates to pick from, or you can upload your own custom emails as well.
One of the major limitations I find in this software is in testing capabilities. A/B/C testing for subject lines is built in, and it will send to the winner after a few hours, but that's it. You can't A/B in email content without manually downloading, splitting your list, and re-uploading it as two different segments. You track the results on your own and send to the remainder of your list. It's time-consuming and cumbersome.
Emma does integrate with many major e-commerce providers. We've used the Shopify integration. That has also been a bit cumbersome. Though we get the emails of purchasers, there aren't very many trigger email options through Emma.
Overall, this is a great little program, especially if you are a small business or don't have an email team. It's not the Cadillac of ESPs, but it all you need is a reliable Honda, this would be a good fit.
