- 4 stars: 1,996 reviews (15%)
- 3 stars: 201 reviews (1%)
- 2 stars: 24 reviews (0%)
- 1 star: 8 reviews (0%)

### Most mentioned pros

- The spam filtering is incredibly robust, and the way it connects seamlessly with Google Drive, Calendar, and Meet makes it an excellent hub for managing productivity, schoolwork, and daily life.
- In terms of customization, Gmail gives enough flexibility to adjust themes, organize inbox categories, and set filters. While it is not overly complex, it still allows users to personalize their experience in a practical way.
- What I liked most about Gmail was its clean, intuitive interface paired with powerful organization tools—especially labels, filters, and the search function, which make it easy to manage a high volume of emails efficiently.

### Most mentioned cons

- One downside for me is that the storage space can also become an issue since Gmail shares cloud storage across services like Google Drive and Google Photos, which can fill up quickly if you manage a lot of files or attachments.
- One downside of Gmail is that the interface can feel cluttered at times, especially with features like Promotions and Social tabs that don’t always sort emails accurately.
- What I liked least about Gmail as a service is that it can feel overwhelming at times due to the amount of automated categorization and clutter in the Promotions and Social tabs.

It has been a good experience as I can log in all my email accounts in one single place and all my services can be easily accessed and logged into easily. I can easily switch accounts by one tap and since I have a Gemini pro account, I can also compose my email via the AI compose feature. It a life saver when communicating with someone in a different language.

#### Ratings breakdown

#### Pros

Gmail is a nice platform that has helped me for years to send and receive emails fast and retains a decent amount of security. My Organization also uses Gmail as their primary source of communication making additional features like meet make my work a whole lot centered around this app.

#### Cons

I don't like that a lot of my data might be getting stolen because I see a lot of ads based on the emails I have sent. This was the biggest concern I faced while using this app. Some other problems I face while using Gmail is the amount of emails I miss because I am not refreshing the app or just simply in the wrong section (for ex:- important or scam mails)

#### Reasons for switching to Gmail

Proton Mail did not load my mails fast enough and I always needed to switch accounts and refresh all the time.

My overall experience with Gmail has been excellent. It is simple, dependable, and works seamlessly across my phone, tablet, and computer. Whether it's important work notifications, exam results, immigration updates, or everyday communication, Gmail has always been there when I needed it. It is one of the few apps I use every single day and trust completely.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

What I like most about Gmail is how reliable and easy it is to use. I use it for both my personal life and work. As a physiotherapist, I don't have fixed working hours. I provide my availability, and patients book appointments accordingly. My scheduling system is connected to Gmail, so I receive notifications whenever a patient books, reschedules, or cancels an appointment. A big part of my daily routine depends on those email notifications. Gmail has also been a part of many important moments in my life. When I was preparing for my Physiotherapy Competency Exam after moving to Canada from India, I constantly checked my Gmail for updates and results. I received my exam results through Gmail, and I also got important updates about my Canadian permanent residency through email. I still remember opening Gmail dozens of times a day while waiting for those life-changing messages and saying a little prayer before opening my results. I also use Gmail for appointment confirmations, password resets, online accounts, shopping receipts, and communication with family and colleagues. It has become one of those apps that I simply cannot live without.

#### Cons

The biggest drawback for me is the storage limit. Since photos, files, and emails all share the same Google storage, it can fill up quickly. I wish there was more free storage available before needing to upgrade.

Using Gmail has been an overall smooth and genuinely helpful experience, especially when it comes to staying organized and efficient. From the moment you open Gmail, the interface feels clean, intuitive, and easy to navigate—even if you’re not super tech-savvy. One of the best parts is how seamlessly it connects with other Google services like Google Drive, Google Calendar, and Google Docs. This makes it incredibly convenient to share files, schedule events, or collaborate without ever leaving your inbox. Everything just works together in a way that saves time and reduces stress. The search function is another standout feature. You can find emails from years ago in seconds just by typing a keyword or name, which is a huge relief compared to digging through folders manually. Spam filtering is also impressively accurate, keeping your inbox clean and focused on what actually matters. Customization options like labels, filters, and priority inbox allow you to tailor your experience to fit your workflow. Whether you’re managing personal emails or handling professional communication, Gmail makes it easy to stay on top of everything without feeling overwhelmed. Overall, Gmail provides a reliable, user-friendly, and efficient email experience that helps you stay organized and connected in both your personal and professional life.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 1/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

Easy to use from day one The layout is clean and simple, so sending, replying, and organizing emails feels natural even if you’re not tech-savvy. Powerful search that actually saves time Gmail’s search lets you find old emails, attachments, or conversations in seconds instead of digging endlessly through folders. Seamless integration with Google tools Because it’s part of Google, it works effortlessly with Google Drive, Google Calendar, and Google Docs—making sharing files, scheduling, and collaboration super smooth. Strong spam filtering It does an excellent job keeping junk and phishing emails out of your main inbox, so you’re mostly seeing what matters. Custom organization options Labels, filters, and categories let you organize emails in a way that fits your personal style or workflow. Access anywhere Whether you’re on your phone, tablet, or computer, Gmail syncs instantly—so everything is always up to date. Reliable and fast It’s rare for Gmail to go down, and emails send and load quickly, which builds trust over time. Free with solid storage You get a good amount of storage without paying, which is perfect for everyday use.

#### Cons

Storage Limits Across Services. Gmail storage is shared with Google Drive and Google Photos. If those fill up, your email can stop receiving new messages which can be frustrating if you didn’t realize everything was connected. Ads in Inbox (especially in the Promotions tab), which can make the inbox feel less clean or more commercial. Limited Customer Support for Free Users If something goes wrong, it can be hard to get direct help unless you’re using a paid Google Workspace account.

I often send emails to myself from my work email and I have them in a folder on there. living in a semi rural location where there isn't always internet I have found that I can draft out emails and they save in my drafts. I have even sent emails when away from an internet source and they send once you have a connection, so there is no fear of wasting time rewriting something just because your connection was bad. I have never had to contact customer support as have not faced any issues. Labels and folders are easy to set up and makes my inbox more manageable.

On the app there is not so many options in terms of formatting. This is not an issue for me as it is not my main work email. I do often access my work email on my phone and if I did use Gmail as my work email I feel I would hold off sending emails until I could format them better using a desktop.

I like that Gmail is easy to use and does a good job organizing emails. The search feature makes it really easy to find old emails, and it filters spam pretty well so my inbox doesn’t get cluttered.

Sometimes the inbox can still get overwhelming because I receive a lot of emails. It can also be a little confusing when emails get sorted into different tabs like Promotions or Updates.

Overall my experience with Gmail has been fantastic, I have used it for years both personally and professionally, and I will likely continue to use it for many more.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

I like how Gmail is free for anyone to use, but also offers paid business tiers that let individuals, startup, and businesses grow with the product. Its ease of setup, simple functionality, and available storage space make it great as a starting point as well as a long term tool.

#### Cons

Lately Gmail has been displaying a lot of in-app notifications for AI features. I'm happy to try out new feature,s and some of the AI tools have been genuinely helpful, but the notification banners themselves are cumbersome and get in the way of what I need to use the app for.

Overall my experience with Gmail has been pretty good. It's reliable, straightforward, and once you get your labels and filters set up the way you like it, managing your inbox becomes second nature. For a business it does what it needs to do and the fact that everything connects seamlessly with Google Drive, Meet, and Calendar is a huge plus. I've never had major issues with downtime or emails not delivering which at the end of the day is the most important thing.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 4/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

The customization options are decent enough with labels and filters, but don't expect to do much with the actual design or branding. Newsletter management is okay, though you'll still find yourself manually sorting through clutter more than you'd like. Customer support is helpful in the times I've needed it.

#### Cons

The thing that frustrated me the most about Gmail is the storage. It fills up way faster than you'd expect, especially when you're running a business and dealing with large attachments, invoices, and files daily. Before you know it, you're getting that warning telling you you're almost out of space and then you're forced to either start deleting emails you might actually need or pay for more storage on top of what you're already paying.
